Spent my first 3 days in singleplayer turning gm_construct into a scientific research facility, after which I finally mustered up the courage to venture out into multiplayer.
Train covered with thrusters and power it on xD
running gman ragdoll back and forth across gm_contruct, inside a bathtub riding on sliders.
I remember in Garry's Mod 9 just hanging out with friends, building stuff together, laughing and having fun. Oh boy how I miss those days.
Dragged a black person from the back of my car.....
"OHGOD WHAT IS THIS AND WHAT DOES IT WOAH HOW DID THAT HAPPEN HEY THIS THINGS PRETTY COOL"
physgun and tool gun
In v6, when gm_construct had a brush spawner, I took a square platform and rigged a buncha balloons to it so it would float to the map ceiling. Then I connected it to a thruster car through a pulley so it would raise and lower when I toggled the thruster. Damn I was clever I thought.
I made a spybot out of 2 wheels and a trash can + camera
If I remember right I spawned in CS Office and broke a few computers.
making a ramp and driving down it.
My first memory was spawning into a TTT server and instantly being disappointed because half my textures were pink and black checkerboards and there were error signs everywhere. I was missing CS:S.
Then I found a parkour server. It was frustrating at first, but once I got the hang of it it was pretty fun.
Put a wooden crate boat together with nails because I thought welding only worked on metal
Joined a random server and asked how to noclip/what all the ERRORs were for :v:
They mostly ignored me, but eventually some guy on another server taught me how to download PHX, Wire, etc. when otherwise I would have been completely lost.
I don't quite remember his name but what he did will never leave my mind.
Build wise? I don't know, I made several cars out of the base Gmod stuff before I learned wire. None were memorable.
That mega-cathedral.
Built a rocket out of explosive barrels by following some youtube tutorial
Lots of balloons and npc killing
Made some shitty poses.
being drunk, made giant piston attached with slider and rope to a wheel to smash the black guy's head. Cackling maniacally.
Creating a car made from Gman ragdolls
First time in GMod, I built a catapult using the giant column, with a blastdoor welded to it, then a whole fuckton of thrusters.
I forgot to axis it to another prop and it flew away :C
Put random face to gman :B
The first thing I did was open cs_office and destroy all breakable things. And Then i found the Toybox
Joined a Spacebuild (1) server and made a ship out of the airboat, hovers, and the largest prop I could find. I think it was one of those bridge girders.
Attached a thruster to a barrel and let loose.
First thing i remember was thinking there was no multiplayer because mine didnt work.
that and putting unbalanced wheels on a board and calling it a car
NPC wars!
Really interested in the multi-player, saw a server named 'FridayToast' and I joined it, I of course only had HL2 and all of the episodes and was missing CSS so it was mostly missing textures.
Spent months on that server until it suddenly shut down, it was the main thing I loved.
The multi-player.
I built a sheet metal shed, with real structure and everything.
Then I forgot to save.
I don't think I'll ever forget first spawning onto gm_construct years ago, wondering where the inmap panel for spawning things was and why the airboats in the garage were glitchy and bouncing. Then making a little tower with the giant chimney prop that had flat little props spiraling around it.
And before that, I was almost plainly new with source games. I'd noclip around Lost Coast and spawn NPCs to fight eachother and wonder how they could do the look of a game so well. I'm certain that I was recommended Garry's Mod by a friend while I was hovering in mid air by the stairwell of Lost Coast.
There are some maps I played in Gmod 9 that I wish I could find and play in Gmod 10...but hell, even the gm_construct of Gmod 9 doesn't seem to work with the current garry's mod.
As much as I've been stuck with consoles for the first half of my life, and during parts of the second half, I don't believe I go as far back with any other game as I do with Garry's Mod.
