When some online dependent games start losing their popularity sometimes going F2P is the best for the community, will there be cheaters and people hopping into new accounts after every ban? Yes, probably. But it will keep the game from turning into those games where you see like 10 popular servers and the rest is empty

I payed for gmod a while ago, and I feel like I've gotten my moneys worth and then some, for the extra boost in community, I'd love to see it go F2P, I just hope to dear god he doesn't make V12 F2P and V13 for us only >_>

It wouldn't make sense for gmod to go free to play, because Garry would then have to refund most if not all profits to the players who bought the game, so would valve because they split the profits with Garry.
Personally, being the leader of a GMod community, F2P would bring in more players. If there are 'minges', you should have admins ready to take care of them.

TF2 is a bit more easy to sell content on though. The only thing I could really see that would encourage people to pay either a one time fee or monthly or whatever would be disabling addons for F2P members.
