After you add AddNetResource, could you help me with this? As this is all meant to be added to shuttle sent our little team works on. And making it resourcenode with own storage already in it would help people just link all things to the shuttle. :)
Sure (only during the weekend though). I already wrote the function yesterday, but haven't been able to test it yet for typos and stuff due to a lack of time. Edit: I'll try to test it later on and put it on the svn. Edit: Tested And Added (I left the code I used for testing in the Resource Node init.lua file, commented out though).
So I haven't read all 7 pages, but search has failed me. What's the gamemode for setting up a server? Both Spacebuild and SpacebuildV3SVN have failed me.
have you tried Spacebuild 3 or Spacebuild3?
What's new or changed in SB3? Spacebuild 3 is an almost complete rewrite of Spacebuild 2. The new Core is modular based. This means that it will be a lot easier for people to add new Environment types to it without needing to modify the SB core for it. This also means that non-spherical environments will be more easy to add now. Another thing that's new is that the environments got new features. The largest new feature is that a planet is more then just habitable or unhabitable now. This means that instead of a planet having air or not a planet's air now exists out of different parts (oxygin, CO2, Nitrogen and Hydrogen) which make it either habitable or not. The general updating system has been improved to to be better performance wise. Less variables are needed to store environment info on a prop/player/npc/... now which should also decrease the amount of ram usage a bit(although probably not that much). Environment info in SB will also be better up to date in SB3 then in SB2 due to the new core. Are there any negative sides to this? Yes, there is one drawback. All addons that use anything of SB2 will need to be partially rewritten to work with SB3. Due to the new Core. Older SB maps will still work, but they will only run in some sort of compatibility mode, which means that some of them might not run 100% like they used to. When will we be able to test this? I'm planning on releasing a beta for SB and the new LS by the end of June and either at the beginning of July. This beta will most likely still have bugs though, and will also be used to tweak all the settings a bit more. At the moment it's hard to tweak some of the new environment features since they are completely new and I also want the opinion of you guys for it ;) How far is the current progress? Well most of the core features for SB and the Environment code is done. Appart from bugs and tweaking you could SB3 itself is about done. But the new LS update is needed for most of the tests that will need to be done with SB3 and I'm currently waiting for some of the custom models that still need to be made, which I need to tweak it all and be able to properly test for bugs in the Entity code. The LS core itself is about done to (minus bugs and tweaking). Also the slow progress on the RD updates is slowing down development alot. TAD2020 doesn't have much time at the moment to work on it and well as most of you know more and more bugs seems to be happening in RD2. Who are you? Why isn't the SBDevTeam posting this? I'm SnakeSVx, main developer for the SBDevTeam. I'll post more info the more progress is made on the new system. If you guys got any questions or suggestions you can post them in here.
I m waiting for the realease. I am ready the the beta test, if you ask me.
I m waiting for the realease. I am ready the the beta test, if you ask me.
Hehe you need to look at the thread more closely. There was a link on the forum if you wanted to download it. If you want to download it the link is http://www.glua.net/

What do I need to put into gamemode??
Yeah but what do you have to download here? everything? What do I need to delete in my addon? Remove the folders LS3/RD3/CAF/LS3E/. Download LS3/RD3/CAF/LS3E/BCA package and put LS3/RD3/CAF/LS3E/ in Garrysmod\Garrysmod\Addons.
Does anyone know where I can find a guide to making a Spacebuild 3 Map? I really have been wanting to make one for a long time.
Every time I DL the LS3/RD3/CAF/LS3E/BCA pack, the LS3 and RD3 are corrupt when I unzip them. Anyone have the official links or SVNs for the Life Support and Resource Distribution that are meant for Spacebuild 3?
Blaylock, go to snakesvx.blogdns.com, register, and the svn links are in the members section of the forum. As of the time of this posting, the site is down because it is switching servers (we were well notified in advance of this.) You can also try glua.net, for a standard download.

Snake, I think you should make a simplified mode of SB3 for those who want it. I know one of the big turnoffs I am hearing about is the increase in complexity. Having a SB2 like version of SB3(called SB3 LE maybe) might help as it gives the benefits of SB3(resource nodes, terraforming, etc) without the complexity of resources. This would help IMHO with an overall adoption of SB3 ~My 2 cents

But I first want to be sure the gamemode itself is done, before I put something like that in. To avoid problems when certain updates are done...
Just want to give a big thanks to everyone involved in Space build LS/RD/SBMP as it's all great stuff. Also, snake, do you know if there will be resource consuming hoverballs/thrusters in the release? Last time I checked the SVN I didn't see any. Or will this sort of stuff come in addons created by others? Cheers!
there is a addon for the thrusters I think its called Gas Systems 2.
there is a addon for the thrusters I think its called Gas Systems 2.
Yep you got it.
Hay i have an idea, when you make oil/petrol mod for LS3 it would be nice if there was like a pollution percent on the atmospheric probe. So if the pollution gets above a certain level the planet becomes toxic and you need to put plant life on it to turn it back to normal. This would be cool. :)
Indeed it would. Took me FOREVER to find this forum. :D Heh, I'm uploading this onto my server as soon as my host gets it up.

I think it is even better. :P
yes if there is not enough o2 or too much Co2 It becomes dangerous for you to live on it with out life support.
Hey, can I get the svn's of SB3. RD3, ect? glua.net is corrupting all of the files when I extract them. Edit: Ok, I found the links, but my SVN won't work now. Is there anyway I can just download the folders non-svn? As I said earlier, glua.net doesn't work. It just corrupts the files.

Like i had said before you have to use 7-zip for it not to give any errors
I tried it with Tug-Zip. Would Win-rar be better?
I tried it with Tug-Zip. Would Win-rar be better?
no Use 7-zip its the only one it doesn't error with http://www.7-zip.org/
Alright, I'll test it out tomorrow. Thanks. Edit: Ok, it is working. Thanks man.
do you think you might be able to use spherical worlds in the near future?
do you think you might be able to use spherical worlds in the near future?
Why in the cubical world would you want that?
because their PLANETS, not linear functions of a chaotic equation, i think l.o.l
