I've downloaded Tortoise SVN, figured out how to make it work, and found the right SB3, LS3 etc download links, at the official site: http://www.snakesvx.net/index.php/module_Wiki/title_Help_Info_SVN The problem is that they're password protected! I've tried anonsvn for username and password (suggested here: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=639750), but that doesn't work. Do I need to be a member of the site? Or is there a specific password I'm not aware of...
The http links aren't password protected!! Make sure you didn't enter https or something, that requires a login...
oi, question for you all. Is it an LS3 problem or an SB3 problem where if you apply gravity plating to an object, it sinks in zero g environments? Both the regular grav plating tool and grav regulators cause any object they're used on to sink when not frozen in space. It's mildly annoying ubt i guess that's why they're still in beta. Is there a fix on the way?

This means that if you apply it to the prop then the prop + anything on it will go down unless you do something (like putting hoverballs or trusters on it) to keep it up. To do what you want we would need to make the Gravplating a Sent or something. Which woould be able to counteract the downwards force. But that would make it so you can't just apply it on any prop anymore...
But you guys used to have gravity plating working on SB2 perfectly fine... why can't it just work the same way on SB3?

Or something.
But you guys used to have gravity plating working on SB2 perfectly fine... why can't it just work the same way on SB3?
The thing is, it works just the same as in SB2.... The gravity plating is one of the only things we didn't didn't modify in the code. The only difference is that SB3 updates a lot faster then SB2... But I'll check it out when I have the time...

Didn't ever notice any sinking before :S But if you say it hasn't changed, who am i call cry foul? It's just damned peculiar I guess. Pity though, it's rather cool to be "running" through a ship as it's breaking up from a mac round, guess I'll just have to stick to ejector seats and whatnot from now on :)
Have you tried the grav controller?
Have you tried the grav controller?
So use the grav controller to counter the gravity plating pull?
Hi What do you guys think of each of the suggested methods to reduce the amount of entities needed per network?

Multi-Use Generators

Each generator can be used for various options (that are closely together).
For example 1 generator to gather O2, CO2, H, N (Controllable by VGUI/Wire)

Multi-Storage devices

Only have group-like Storage devices. For example 1 for gasses, 1 for liquids, 1 for energy.
Can accept a certain volume of gasses.

Don't make Storage devices required.

For example Solar panel generates 10 energy, device needs 10 energy.
Device has enough power to keep running (no storage needed).
But if there is energy left it could still be stored...

Original Thread: http://www.snakesvx.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=34
Edited to be what i think should be best, actually, that sounds fine to me :D i think this should be added, and add the thing like resource nodes have a small amount of storage for common things, like O2 Water and Energy, so you don't have to put extra storage devices on.
So use the grav controller to counter the gravity plating pull?
Maybe. The grav plating makes gravity in the vicinity of the gravved prop, right? The controller disables gravity for that particular prop (and everything constrained to it, adv dupe-style) but nothing else => there is gravity but it doesn't affect the prop itself. Worth a try, if you ask me.
hello, I am not sure if I write into the right thread, but I have a fresh installation of garrysmod (because of problems I deleted it and rebuilt) and have problems with mining addon: error has occured while enabling mining addon. This was in the console: nilnilnilLoaded addon: Mining Addon Hook 'SpawnTheAsteroids' Failed: attempt to call a boolean value It seems to be doing it in every map. Interesting thing is that it worked, then I done something like adding a few new maps and materials or I don't know what yet and then it stopped working... Moving addons away does not seem to help. Thanks
interesting thing: when I removed all addons including resource distribution and ran sb_gooniverse the asteroids were spawned in the space and seemed OK. Then I have put back resource distribution, it displayed that error "occured message" and one asteroid was right on the planet surface! When I touched it it has split into two! :) What can be a problem?
download RD3 from the SVN.
I have it - revision 424
hm but it seems that despite this error it works :-] I can spawn all the mining addons things and they seem to be working...
double post much?
huh i could never get my minning addon to work in SB3 how did you
huh i could never get my minning addon to work in SB3 how did you
neither could i.
mining works fine for me I've made some of my own generators for the mining addon though
well do you use SB2 or SB3 and what Changes did you make to them?
check the errors in the right upper corner of the screen when you start a map
The Mining Addon Has Been Left And Neglected For Some Time Now. There Is Only One Server, SpaceAge That Runs A Working Mining Addon Which Has Been Custom Built. As Far As I'm Aware The Only Reason To Have Mining Addon Is For The Models
I just started getting this error and not sure why ERROR:GAMEMODE: 'Think' Failed:SpaceBuild 3/game mode/init.lua:255: attempt to index field 'environment' (a nil value) I tried deleting everything I added since before this error started but have had no luck. I am hoping someone knows a fix as I really don't want to delete GMod and everything in it and start over.

I got a weird problem with SB3. I've built a ship with opening doors (wire hydraulics) a fully life support system in the ship and a normal Gpod. I like the Gpod, the movement of the spaceship is alot better and nicer. But when I leave the planet through the atmosphere the whole ship is spinning and the welded parts are getting thrown around the ship. The ship is not controllable anymore. When I just load the flatgrass map or stay inside a planet, then the ship is really easy to control. Is this problem caused by the Gpod?

Can anyone help me with the fact that all the screens are black for me, except the nodes... (Wirescreens are not black, just the Life Support ones) Screenshot may not be 100% perfect, but the screen is supposed to be 100% black.
