I dont suggest exporting it as you won't be able to update it. Just drag into the Addons folder.
Read the tutorial before posting crap like this, please. Thanks. x1 Bad Reading. [editline]05:28PM[/editline]
For some reason anytime I try to use SVN for addons nowadays the SVN's download speed slows down then comes to a complete stop saying its transfering 0 bytes/s whenever I try to SVN checkout folders for addons. This doesnt happen to all but mainly ones that take more then 10-12 seconds to download and it only started maybe a month ago, which at first i thoaght nothing of it but now I've had to unistall a gamemode and can't get it back cause tortoise won't completly download the necessary files.
You could try glua.net

But I did understand you. And as I have said before, I don't know anything about problems with the program itself, and you will have to ask on the TSVN support site. Good thread
1 queston, do you HAVE to export?
1 queston, do you HAVE to export?
No. It's up to you.
if the folders are outside of the addons folder, does that mean that i have to export again the file?
if the folders are outside of the addons folder, does that mean that i have to export again the file?
Every time there has been an update you need to export it to your addons folder.
1 queston, do you HAVE to export?
Like he said.. you dont have too.. but downloading them strait to you gmod folder will slow down your game a whole lot.. as thats the way I did it at first.. much better to export.
Do some SVN links have a time limit, or is that just a case of a bad SVN address when they don't work?
Divran, thanks for the tutorial. I finally got my friends to get SVN'd, but people still can't figure it out. Ah well, thanks again.
Ah, I remember my first experience with svn...I ended up having to delete all of Gmod and lost a LOT of stuff that couldn't go in my addons folder. Then I found this tutorial, got svn working easily, and became fully updated on everything important. Now that I have an account on here, I thought I might as well say thanks. So, thanks, Divran! *obligatory goofy smile and/or wave*
I dont know what I am doing wrong, but all the links I enter return to this: Export OPTIONS of 'https://wiremod.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/wiremod/trunk': could not connect to server (https://wiremod.svn.sourceforge.net) All I want is the wiremod and the Phx3. Somebody help me out?

I created a .bat and DLing it right now.
Is there a downside to downloading from SVN straight to my addons folder? It's what I do.
yh there is there is tiny little folders that slow down your garrys mod there invisable but the will slow it down a lot and i mean a lot my loading times are at 10 minutes some times 1 hour

Just curious what I would do for the stargate addon? Since I have to manually dowload it because the website its being hosted on isn't supplying the file, its server is down or something? I'm just wondering how i set up the downloaded files with TSVN, so it will auto update, and so i can export them to my addons folder. Or can I not because they weren't downloaded from an SVN file?

Normal downloads can't be exported, so you just put them directly into the addons folder. Unless, of course, for some reason the uploader didn't export himself, and he left the .svn folders in there (if you see an addon like that, don't get it. Its uploader is a retard.).
well alright thanks. I guess no one has an idea of when the stargate SVN link will be working again? I would prefer to have it as an svn rather than a normal addon

I just want the base Stargate that Avon made. None of the extra NPC's and such.

svn is for noobz (User was banned for this post ("troll" - Lithifold))
Without backing up your statement you are just ridiculing yourself.
svn is great tool.
svn is great tool.
I agree, it's a lot better than searching all over Garry'smod.org for V1.XXXX
I have a question about exporting, when you update your svn does it export all the files or only the files that were updated? I don't want to export an say a 500 mb folder every time it gets updated and I don't think the slightly faster load would be worth it when your just gonna spend that time exporting instead.
Well, I never export, only when I want to upload stuff to my server. I dont mind the .svn files, yes, they probably make my game slower, but I cant be bothered to export after each small update
I export after almost every update.
I like to update my addons often, but I always hated that I have to remove .svn folders, copy whole folder, export whole folder or other boring stuff like this. This is why i made an app which saves the revision into one file, and you can update easily. You can download it from here: http://garrysmod.comoj.com
