Oh god yes, when I first started I tried this and was immensely disappointed it didn't work, because I'd spent like an hour making makeshit pulley systems before testing the ropes.
I, for one, would love to build submarines and other assorted water vehicles without the water coming inside. However, I think that's just a problem with the Source engine.
I know, how bout a mod that makes it so its EXACTLY like real life? :D

this is completely irrelevant but the world is not going to end in 12 more years, Strangex0rz. but that gives me an idea, we could have an "end of the world" game mode (and map) where you like build stuff e.g. houses, a very giant wire contraption. after a while meteors and tornadoes (stuff like that) come and destroy your stuff and/or the map

The gamemode The President was making. Gmod RPG... It looked fucking amazing... then got scraped.
All stuff from SMOD tactical ported to garrysmo (aiming, weapons, zombies etc.) seems a simple idea that could work.

Something that redid all the HL2, DOD:S, Dark Messiah and TF2 ragdolls so they could be posed much easier, at least as easily as the CS:S ragdolls.
More extensive physics (snapping tables in half, interactive map terrain, punching holes through steel plating, proper air and fluid physics etc. (an explosion in, say, a tube will rush out the end with greater force than if it was just out in the open))
Smarter AI (as in "there's a small human bunker with one exit and a lot of people, let's throw a nade through the slits!" common sense using, analytical, rape AI)
Larger, or practically infinite maps (e.g I make a rocket, launch it and transition smoothly into space, deploy payload of laser satellite and fry other players on a different continent)
All of the WOTW musical style shit, i'm talking martians,horsell common,the heat ray, london, red weed,Fighting machines, Everything
Geomod + Severance: Edge of Darkness (aka Blade of Darkness) swordfight physics and gore.
Pain Sensor from Resident Evil 4 (If you shoot someone in the leg they grab it and start limping etc.)
An action RPG game mode. (If anyone makes one I might map for it)
Dynamic Environment, where terrain and water reacts realistically with the world and its props.
