And Venus is the pale green one.
Mars is the red one.
This may seem stupid but how do I import my own sky boxes into the map?
Would it be possible to re-release this with one feature. Instead of clipping inside the planet to land on it, have it so when you get very close, it will teleport you to the inside land. Gives the player that you traveled very fast onto the surface, and will give a better feel of traveling too and from a planet.
Awesome map though!!

It's an invisible nonsolid wall dividing it from space, you don't need to noclip through.

Yea I know that, it's just it seems a little bit... well not very good that you have to go inside the planet itself to get onto land. If it teleported you straight in when you were close, it would seem like it made you travel to the planet's surface... instead of going inside the planet, if you get me?

Oh you mean clipping through the illusion :keke:
Well a nicer thing would be to fade it when getting close to it.
Yeah, but think of it. If that was to happen, and you entered the planet from the bottom, you would fade into the bottom of the land inside... where as if you were automatically teleported to inside, no matter where you enter it, you would end up on the correct side of the land :)
Could have a nifty transition while teleporting aswell...
Hey, it would be cool if somebody used the Hubble (ultra) Deep field as the skybox. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2a/Hubble_Ultra_Deep_Field_Black_point_edit.jpg
and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubble_deep_field
This would also be nice...
When you enter the planets, it has it's own skybox texture. The ones with no atmosphere will have a skybox of space with some stunning scenery of the planets which are there (can get them from other games) and seeming that they are skyboxes, it would seem that the other planets in the map are very very far away...
The planets WITH atmospheres would have skyboxes with actual cloud textures. How good would that be :)
That combined with a teleporting transition while entering the planets would render this map as, well, perfect!! :D
Anyone think they could do that? :)
I don't like that teleporting idea... I like having to bring my ship down for a landing, and it would be weird to just snap back down.
There's also the problem of props being teleported individually. I don't want parts of my ship being warped down to the surface while the rest of my ship freaks out and tries to rush down to meet them.
Also think of hoverballs - you'd get warped down and then snap back up, get warped down, snap back up...

Well... instead of teleporting, have it fade to white the closer you get. So you don't see yourself go through the planet wall. It would just look as if you're entering the atmosphere, through the clouds.
Yep, I fully agree with you. But then all is a bit bigger, I don't know the limits of map building.
Heres an idea, outer-atmosphereic orbiting? This would be useful for sattelites.
How do I switch game modes?
Possibly read the thread pages.

You could teather it to the planet with a rope but that looks silly.
How do I switch game modes?
Type these commands in console, in that order:
sv_defaultgamemode spacebuild
changelevel gm_spacebuild
I found a bug, when you put a lamp on your spaceship, Earth's atmosphere turns white.
Excuse me how do I chage gamemodes?

Dude, I just told you.
Quoting myself, 3 posts above:

I'm sorry I didn't see.

Uh, are you sure you want the map onto your thingy?
Maybe you won't ever have children again! :v:
This is incredible! I'm going to try it out now.
This is a great Gamemode and map. I find it quite fun, even more so when combined with aVoN's Stargate SENT's.

That is not advertising, I am merely making a point.

The same thing that I do. When choosing the map look for it in the Browse All tab rather than the Gallery. If it still isn't there or you have already tried that I can't try and help futher.
The thing I don't like about the teleporting to the planets surface was already described, and the thing I don't like about the idea for a texture of space on planets with no atmosphere is then we can't see the activity around the planet. When you are on those planets, you can see out of them and tell where other ships are, but having the texture means space would appear stagnant, and then a ship would just suddenly appear in the sky.
I have started working on NewEden I need a little bit of help Shaq is helping me but if you would like to get in on the new Map please contact me ASAP, I am also working on a Terraforming tool and some cool Sweps for this gamemode if you would like to help please contact me :).

Well there could be at least a fade option to give the impression of you breaking through the atmosphere. Could have some sounds aswell.
It's the only thing that spoils this map for me :(.
WHERE DO I PUT THIS DOWNLOAD?! I have tried everything!
shanjaq, venus is red and not much gas on it, it just cloud so 80% of lights go trough it and the the planet is like a mirror for the 20% light that comes trough
Edit:
and you should get damage by the cold there if you dont haves a house or something, you could make a firetree thing that you could burn so you keep warm
Edit:
and of course you could make the sun and the clooser you get to it the more damage you will get and you will start getting dagamage at merkurius
Yes but it would be annoying getting killed on all the planets accept for earth. also i don't ever suffocate on space
