I was playing solo with this and made my own starship. I crashed because a thing sat on my bombing button and I lost it because I deleted the save with it. :( It had a bridge with ship controls, a brig with lockable doors, 4 bedrooms, a messhall, and the hangar. I added thrusters to make the ship roll, tilt, and move, and since it wasn't meant to go near gravity, it did these smoothly, and you could still float around the ship. In the bridge I also made 4 escape pods, each with their own controls so they could be flown to a nearby planet. I made a save game for it and made every part of it breakable, and at one point, a bunch of Combine on Earth were attacking and they got their shots off from RPGs and the Pulse Rifles, and the ship began to explode. I crashed on the moon with a small air canister and nearly died before I found enough parts of my ship crashed nearby to build a small ship and flew to earth and killed the Combine there.

Um, what, you deleted the save? Why would you do that?
I deleted it because I had upgraded the ship to a more advanced version with the bombs and attack turrets. I got up to get a drink and I knocked a thing over and it landed on my keypad and held down the bomb button and, you know how it goes from there. It was a stupid mistake, I know, but now I know not to do that and I can rebuild It. I have the technology. I have the capability to make my world’s first rebuilt starship. My first starship will be that starship. Better than it was before. Better…stronger…faster.[/Six Million Dollar Man reference]
we need a suit where we can slowly hover around in space... WE REALLY NEED IT...for space stations and capital spaceships.

Awesome map too bad you can't swim in the space (I mean you can move in every direction, in space if you go up you can't get down, I think).

Strange... I like the idea of building a space station. Maybe put it between the planets like a stopping station. It could have little rooms for homes and such, and a devision for the labs, and the mess hall, and the docking bay for ships that are flying by, and have defense stations jutting out that can watch everything. I wish we were this far along in space travel, where we could have ships just out there flying around like nothing is new.

This gamemode is absolutely epic.
I have been watching the other thread like this for about 6 months now, it is amazing to see it finally come to fruition.
I'll get this up on my server soon, I'll see how this goes.

We can make this ourselves if he had either a gravity module or something, or a suit we can float around in.
You get a tiny amount of movement control out there. Someone should probably recreate the thruster pack used as part of rp_Bahamut.

The map is nice but the gamemode is basically just point gravity and some other little effects. You need to make it so player views rotate with the planets.

Whenever I start single player game with the game mode and map selected, gravity doesn't work, and the console has a bunch of nil value errors.
Great stuff here, too bad I suck at making space ships. You get a Winner.

I played this in Killer Jaguar's server recently...
It was a blast.
Shanjaq, you always come up with great concepts. As a sci-fi/space fan, this = win. I like how you're tying your stuff together with Life Support for added realism. If I can bring myself to stop playing blindfight, this will eat up hours of my time.

What's up with using the flash light in the map? The sky goes white! It huts my eyes.
Yeah, I noticed that. Kinda weird. Just don't use the flashlight.
This is awesome, and a ton of fun. Only problem I've had so far is I lost the spacebuild gamemode after saving and reloading. My save just loads as sandbox and now there's gravity in space and whatnot.
What was the command again? sv_gamemode? sv_setgamemode? I'm not sure what it is, something like that. Type that in before loading.
