Ya, for some reason the stars on the sky box are huge and are really bad resolution. Does anyone have any high-res ones? Also the is still gravity in space. But otherwise AWESOME!
In response to the above post: I would like to add my idea that I posted in my wall of text a page ago. Summery for those of you who can’t be bothered to read a bit: Add lasers and shields that draw from a power source that auto-recharges and is incompatible with life support. Like plasma. Different sizes of lasers (lasers for fighters and different ones for capital ships) and different shapes/sizes of shields.
this is turning alot like Home World 2 anyway... I also got some suggestions
Mapped in Space station
EXPLANATION: A space station that is part of the map wich has unlimited life support resources. It would be like a kind of "pit-stop" to the other planets
Bigger and more planets
EXPLANATION : Simple... Some planets could be entirely water exept for a small island to build on. Some could be HUGE with a flat surface for building giant ships. And that planet should be slightly smaller than freespace.
LAG-STOP
EXPLANATION I have no idea how but someway to stop lag That's it for now Edit: i tottally want to be able to change the type of linking rope/wire and to be able to change the width of it. it's always so big and thick.
Lag Stop? Sounds really good... But how will it be done...
as i said no idea
I would not mind the amount of shit so much if you guys had chosen better models. The large energy container is HUGE and the air compressor should have always been the one you chose for the coolant. I have been fishing around in the HL2 props and I have a pretty good assortment of replacements. I may edit the lua and release it as "Life Support Mini Models Mod" Here, this ship I comprised COMPLETELY out of JUST life support props and 1 pod. A little ridiculous of a concept if you ask me. Apollo i will fix the PJ later tonight :)
That usually happens if you have the flashlight on.
I know that, but flashlight has nothing to do with this. Everytime when I create camera or shoot with toolgun that happens, The sky turns white, and the planets turn gray. And I don't know how to fix it. Please help!
Planets are made up of func_illusionary's
He probably meant spherical planets, which are subdivided displacements.
If no one haven't asked before, when there's going to be chapter 2?
Coolest ship EVER. I totally suck at building, and that looks like a model, not a bunch of parts of one thing. There's only one word to describe that: AMAZING.
That is because it is a [WIP] Model.
No one is listening to me :( I have not played Spacebuild since v2 was released. edit:
He probably meant spherical planets, which are subdivided displacements.
Actually I mean't the surface of the planet not the atmosphere. And subdivided planets are actually blockier than the primitive sphere. Because they are pretty much rounded cubes.
I have a kick ass idea for some planets to be added. Neptune - Almost fully covered in water but with a few little islands to land on. Pluto - Extremely cold planet(star, Pluto is classed as a star), with small caves to take refuge from the cold, also have random ice storms (change atmosphere to a really dark blue with white cloud effects swooping through the planet). Jupiter - Extreme gravitational pull(but random so you can get your ship back) which causes you to plummet to the planets surface which is similar to mars but has craters

It is nowhere close. What you mean is Dwarf Planet.

Maybe it you could use air compressors on it also because there's BOUND to be Oxygen in it's atmosphere, but the sheer PRESSURE of all the gas near the core would CRUSH ANYTHING.
Here's the deal, people are bound to make spacebuild maps in good time. Just wait and let them decide how to make them judging on how they want to. You're still going to get maps, even if it isn't exactly what you wanted.

Anyways who knows how useful hydrogen metal is?
Is there a copy gun that can save spacebuild designs?
Looks like I've run into a little snag here. I've updated both the SpaceBuild and Life Support, but when I head into the map I find that the SpaceBuild mod has been shut off, gravity is on outside the planet and there's no oxygen depletion. Life Support mod works just fine, but not the actual SpaceBuild mod. I have put in the sv_defaultgamemode spacebuild and restarted, but to no effect has it worked. Is there a solution for this?
That is because it is a [WIP] Model.
You call that a model? lol :D that's a model. Apart from the fact it needs a new skin and the interior collision model is still being worked on.
Now I know what happened. I start Spacebuild v2b with LF 14b. I looked at space; everything was right, then I shot somewhere with toolgun and the sky turned white, the planets turned gray, even earth. Aaargh! How disappointing! :( Is there going to be fix to this bug? Edit: Quickly! I want to play spacebuild!
That was on page 17?
Just don't use toolguns? I don't know, you have this bug with the flashlight, too. It'll obviously be fixed if it's a major bug. PM Shanjaq.
I think one of the few good sudgestions I have seen are lasers and shields that run off of power. Also, there is no reason why you should have it run off of some different power source. Have it run off of the life support power. (If you don't want it sapping your power, make an entirely different power system, duh) ME WANT SPACE BATTLE! :3
But it's SpaceBuild. Not Star Wars. There actually was a fairly good Laser STOOL I got yesterday, I don't remember where. It doesn't use power, but it's still a laser... Right click one on the ship to make it go out a specified distance. Most likely only player damage, unless, I suppose, breakable props are on. But then you're just an ass to destroy their ship.
The aa_turret stool is awesome to use.
He probably meant spherical planets, which are subdivided displacements.
Maybe you haven't thought about the displacements being THE GROUND?
EDIT: Sorry didn't read the above posts.

I'm just wanting a few new planets to be added with cool twists to them that make them more unique to others Jupiter - You are on a trip from some other planet back to earth but you travel too close to Jupiter's atmosphere and get pulled in. Neptune - Allows for more use of hydro generated power stations and can be made a Refill station ETC. Pluto - A planet which gives the players a challenge by trying to build a base there under the extreme cold temp (On the temp square for the atmosphere Should be Light blue *Cyan/aqua*) Please don't hit me with the astrology of planets of whatever, I just want the map to be more interesting with more places to go.

The gravity of Jupiter would tear you and your ship apart long before you landed. Neptune has no water in liquid form. It has a tiny core at the middle. Pluto has no atmosphere. How can there be storms without an atmosphere? My suggestion was a map that took place on the moons of Jupiter, because they're unique and have traits that would be fun to play on, you know?
