does anyone have any 3rd party maps for this gamemode?
Dude, you realize, a lot of what you're saying is just stupid. The gravity of Jupiter would tear you and your ship apart long before you landed. Neptune has no water in liquid form. It has a tiny core at the middle. Pluto has no atmosphere. How can there be storms without an atmosphere? My suggestion was a map that took place on the moons of Jupiter, because they're unique and have traits that would be fun to play on, you know?
Right... You don't get what I'm saying.. The actual planets don't have to match real life situations but, It would be cool of the planets did have these atmospheres/events in place because it would be simply fun to play with. Like I said, I'm not really caring about what the planets are in REAL LIFE, just the fact it would be cool to have the planets like that (or even make your own planet name or whatever, to prevent upsetting those astronomical people out there) Your idea is cool to though, having moons in orbit with whatever planet they are assigned to would be fun as well. Also, it would be fun to have random comets or meteors flying in space so you have to dodge them in an emergency situation

Looks like I've run into a little snag here. I've updated both the SpaceBuild and Life Support, but when I head into the map I find that the SpaceBuild mod has been shut off, gravity is on outside the planet and there's no oxygen depletion. Life Support mod works just fine, but not the actual SpaceBuild mod. I have put in the sv_defaultgamemode spacebuild and restarted, but to no effect has it worked. Is there a solution for this?
I can't get the SpaceBuild gamemode on! Help please.
I can't get the SpaceBuild gamemode on! Help please.
Can you give us more infomation? Do you mean you can't download SpaceBuild or..?
I just found a little bit of code that might lead to real planets [lua]MoveData:SetMoveAngles(Angle)[/lua] It alows a script to rotate a player/player view.

I'm no scripter, but wouldn't that be a little choppy if players were being constantly repositioned? If only we could smash PREY and Half-Life 2 together... Pralf-Leyfe 2! :science:
does anyone have any 3rd party maps for this gamemode?
I'm currently working on one.
Same here, one large planet, 3 smaller moons and a derelict space ship.
where do you extract the files and the patch please tell me. I want to test out the new life-support systems.
I just released another small compatibility patch of the SpaceBuild gametype for some changes made to the Life Support addon(v1.5 now.) Both can be found here: SpaceBuild V2c Patch Life Support 1.6 STRONGLY recommend getting Life Support 1.6. The new one is more efficient and less prone to strange behavior. Also you get the ability to link receptacles directly to a pod, providing life support without the use of bulky Exchangers(just don't get out of the cockpit on Venus!)
Ok i just had a great idea. we can only ever get into space using thrusters unless your very innovative and good and flying, but i think someone should make a stool for the people who aren't good at flying. basically its the hover balls but with an one off switch so we can make proper space fighters and use axis control. that would be so fun! but it is just an idea i am also gonna post this in the lua forums but i thought i would let you guys know my idea

But it's an easy install so it's not bad. And I have to say that any mapped in "pit stops" or space stations would ruin the experience. Many times I'll build a ship and go "Hey guys I'm making a space station, use it for a pit stop if you need to when you go to the other planets. I think it's better to have us make those things like it would be in real life than to have them there already.
I feel like posting my WIP ship! rhymes... letsee- photo bucket, image shack, what to choose-
Nice job. I really like it but i'm going to wait until the final as you keep updating :(. Once you have finished that i will really enjoy it!
Nice job. I really like it but i'm going to wait until the final as you keep updating :(. Once you have finished that i will really enjoy it!
There is no such thing as "final", there is only "less buggy" or "more features" ;)
Now let's see if the planet color bug is fixed... Edit: It's not. everything still turns gray when I do something with toolgun. Please, Shanjaq, fix this bug if you can!
Where in God's name do I install Space Build v2 and the patch to?
Where in God's name do I install Space Build v2 and the patch to?
gamemodes >.> And what's new in the new version!? EDIT: The only thing that doesn't work for me is Oxygen :/ I can breathe in space I don't get the temprature bar and I get this error in console
Timer Error: spacebuild/gamemode/init.lua:45: attempt to compare nil with number

The Lua in this can be done with gmod9. It's not complicated at all. Everything except the crushing damage on venus, the burning on mercury and the toggling between gravity on/off is done in Hammer, part of the Source SDK. About people getting errors in the console, it's because the author tried to use ent.Entity. ent. refers to ent:GetTable(). If you want to refer to the entity, just do ent:SetPos() or ent:SetGravity(), not ent.Entity:SetPos(). ent.Entity doesn't actually exist. Anyway, I rescripted a bunch of this stuff so that it won't error and break the script, and that it will run off of a single Lua script instead of a gamemode. All you need to do is place this script in your garrysmod/lua/autorun/server directory (delete the gamemode if you have it still and just run off of sandbox) and it will run ONLY when it is on gm_spacebuild. I've been using it on my construction server and it works great now. noxiousnet.com/spacebuild.zip
Does anyone have this? The link doesn't work any more. Thank you.
Nevermind.
Heres a fun little ship i made
PLEASE remove the audio sequences at the load of the map. They freeze my game. And when people come to my server it does it too. It is really really annoying anyways.
How the hell can your computer run the map if an audio file freezes it!?
Sounds like a cache problem.
It wasn't the mod. I thought it was at first but it's not. I think the fact so much loaded when I started the game(many mods on a x200 XPRESS doesn't work well) it froze.
To many addons will slow anything down and it is about fucking time admins realize that and just give us some plane vanilla servers to play on without a bunch of scripts to track bullshit.

Right now I have this mod, Life Support, a few tools like Fading Door, Easy Advanced Ballsocket, etc., Pheonix of course, and that's pretty much it. The PropProtecion and ServerSecure add way too much pointless stuff and lag my server. But I use a password to keep out assholes and anyone else.
