I get a message that says maximum storage decices reached. What is the command to increase this? sbox_maxstoragedevices does not work.
sbox_maxreceptacles
I was trying to play with another member and whoever joined the server couldn't use the link tool. The host could, though.
Can anyone rehost the map? The link is down in the map section. EDIT: Nevermind, I just found the newer one. I love SpaceBuild.
This Gamemode is all i hardly play now but i noticed a bug that is really been bugging me (no pun intended) is that when your on Earth and you turn on your flashlight,or a lamp the entire sky turns plain white and you can only see the ground yet when your in space or another planet the flashlight works like normal do you think you could fix this somehow?
That's weird... never happened when I turned on a flash light on Earth... although I wasn't playing space_build :v: By the way, AWESOME map! You are like... LUA KING-like
Oh forgot to tell you something, I don't think you updated the version numbers for spacebuild AND life support in info.txt...
neonneo when it says you reach a max, look in your console, it will say max blahblahblah reached, or at least something along those lines. Take the blahblahblah stuff and put it as sbox_maxblahblahblah 100 and you will have plenty =P If you need more than 100 I think you are overdoing it.
Oh now it all works nice job ;).

It seems to be a Source bug.

If you want to refer to the entity, just do ent:SetPos() or ent:SetGravity(), not ent.Entity:SetPos(). ent.Entity doesn't actually exist. Anyway, I rescripted a bunch of this stuff so that it won't error and break the script, and that it will run off of a single Lua script instead of a gamemode. All you need to do is place this script in your garrysmod/lua/autorun/server directory (delete the gamemode if you have it still and just run off of sandbox) and it will run ONLY when it is on gm_spacebuild. I've been using it on my construction server and it works great now. noxiousnet.com/spacebuild.zip Does anyone have this? The link doesn't work any more. Thank you.
Anyone?
As an odd note, the download number is 6666....
Your suggestion is good, but you keep forgetting that realism isn't the focus.
If realism wasn't the focus, why did shanjaq bother making the life support mod?
If realism wasn't the focus, why did shanjaq bother making the life support mod?
To add a dimension of fun? You don't add anything to your mod to make it more realistic, that's just silly. Yes, the gamemode simulates space to some degree, but it isn't realistic as it is, but still very fun to play. You don't add realism aspects for the sole reason to increase the overall realism of the mod.
Oh yes, in my sleep-deprived stupor I forgot to add a link to the latest patch: This brings it into compatibility with Life Support 1.6: Eventually SpaceBuild should be in a state where it doesn't require an update along with Life Support, but at the moment they're both co-evolving because one mod develops a need for information that the other does not provide unless made to do so. I'm anxious to be updating SpaceBuild itself to take advantage of LS, though right now the reverse is true...
Have you made the brush volumes of air? For spacestations and stuff. Mapping wise?
Heh, life support is ID 6666 :tinfoil: Great gamemode man, I've had a lot of fun on it. Edit: I just came across a bug. I made a nice ship all set and ready, I saved because it was quite large, just to be safe. So I smart welded, it crashed. So I restarted Gmod and loaded it up. Worked fine, but I forgot to add a life support thing. So I added a new one and tried to link it up to what I already had. When I tried to link them together, I got the "Conduit Destination Invalid". I couldn't connect anything new to what I already had. Is this behavior only in this new release? Or is this normal for past releases?
Hello, I have been seeing maps with extra asteriods run on spacebuild. What are these maps?
Hello, I have been seeing maps with extra asteriods run on spacebuild. What are these maps?
Custom ones.
What'll be neat is a "Capture the Asteroids" variant, where your teams trys to get over half of all the asteroids and hold them for 5 minutes.
That sounds like a cool idea Galaxy. How about some prebuilt ships ? I need to learn how to use hammer =/
Maybe the planet colouring problems even when the flashlight is off are caused by your graphics cards direct x level?
Cool update. But i am having troble with my suit not working. I do not get affcted by burns or i do not need to carry air because the thing at the bottom of my HUD is'nt showing up anymore. anyone know how to fix it?
Hey, you know what would make it easier to play gamemodes like "capture the rock"? LASERS! Seriously, I don't know how many times I have herd people say that they are leaving the server because it is getting boring. Add the new fighting element, and voila! More fun once colonization gets old! It can't be that hard. **pulls idea out of where the sun doesn’t shine** Just make a custom entity that has a laser-pulse look, (I'm sure there is a way) and make it so that whatever comes in contact with it gets disintegrated and it can only disintegrate up to [insert number here] props, while traveling in a straight line, before disappearing. It would be blocked by shielding. The entity could be implemented into malawar's launcher mod.

How do you get it to work I'm in the map spacebuild_v2 and all the map is the same gravity and why have a air tank if there's air all over?
I love the mod, it's something that I've waited for, for a long time. There's only one problem I have; I'm a little annoyed by the fact that if you try to make another planet inhabitable, the air exchangers and the like, only go a certain distance before you can't be effect by them anymore, I know this is for certain reasons but is there a way to attach it to some kind of brush around the planets so it will effect the entire planet instead of having to build them anywhere you want to go? Edit:
How do you get it to work I'm in the map spacebuild_v2 and all the map is the same gravity and why have a air tank if there's air all over?
First off, you need all of the mods that go with the map, you can find them on the original post. Second, what are you talking about? The air tanks connect to air exchangers or the suit dispensers to supply air so that they can run. Though you need to fill up air tanks with air through oxygen scrubbers instead of air compressors on planets other than Earth because of the lack of air... </ramble> Edit:
Heres a fun little ship i made
Holy God, does that say 9 hours? I'm not sure if I've ever played GMod for that long...
Why is it when I load this in single player or try to host with multiplayer I spawn in space and fall to my death. and always respawn there. I do have an addon that respawns you where you died which could complicate things later on but I am never on earth to begin with.

I do not know the FIRST thing about making Half Life 2 physics objects though or else I would try...
Shanjaq! I found a bad problem. I don't know if it has been brought up yet, but when you turn on the flashlight on a planet, space goes white.
