hey shanjag please take a look at this. http://forums.facepunchstudios.com/showthread.php?p=5245920#post5245920 what do you think?
where do u put the folder called gamemodes?
I'm still not taking damage from spacebuild related sources.
its most likely to be the mahalis portal gun, if you have it, thats whats causing the problem, or your in god mode, or your in the wrong game mode.
its most likely to be the mahalis portal gun, if you have it, thats whats causing the problem, or your in god mode, or your in the wrong game mode.
Just uninstall it and get the new ver.
its most likely to be the mahalis portal gun, if you have it, thats whats causing the problem, or your in god mode, or your in the wrong game mode.
I do have the portal gun as it happens. I'll try getting rid of it. Edit:
Then you're doing it wrong, reinstall and add thing 1 at a time until it breaks..
I was sort of hoping to avoid needing to do that. I've already removed everything I could think of causing the issue. Edit: Awesome, it was the portalgun. Thanks very much.
Alrighty, I got the mod, got the Life Support system, and go the Resource Destribution, but it seems I have every problem this mod can throw at me. First, I made sure to set the Game Mode to Space Build, but when I log in, I immediatly get the error stating ERROR: Hook 'Life_Support_Update' Failed: autorun/server/sv_lifesupport.lua:284: attempt to index field 'Entity' (a nil value) Removing Hook 'Life_Support_Update' Then, I get the error for the Link tool LS: autorun/server/wirelib.lua:408: attempt to index field 'Outputs' (a nil value) LS: autorun/server/wirelib.lua:408: attempt to index field 'Outputs' (a nil value) LS: stools/dev_link.lua:83: bad argument #1 to 'pairs' (table expected, got nil) LS: autorun/server/wirelib.lua:408: attempt to index field 'Outputs' (a nil value) And finally, if that weren't bad enough, Gravity outside of space doesn't work. Also, I do not have the Portal Gun SWEP, nor do I have any older files already from here.

Thanks for the help, but updating Wire did not fix the problem, I've messed around with it, and now it will try to connect the two, but no rope icon appears, and it spams the console with errors about the Wirelib.
Here's an idea for a map somebody should do: Two habitable planets (earth like) on opposite sides of a star. Play spawn points would be on both. Several other planets and moons in between. I think it would make a good map for space war as you'd have two "bases" that you can build on without needing LS from the start.
So, my spacebuild map is just about done, it's actually a space war map with a lot of cool stuff (that I later find out people have been requesting) on it, I just need to fix some bugs before I can release. Anyway, why is it that my planets at 300 K, or roughly 80 F, are deadly? 288 K (almost 60 F) is not a comfortable temperature at all. I know I'm a stickler for realism, but I'll probably end up giving in and changing the temperatures to 288 K, even on my desert spawn planet, and that just somehow feels wrong.
I think it would be a nice idea of someone made a modified version of the wings script so it only works when there is some kind of atmosphere. Denser atmosphere = More lift, More drag Less dense atmosphere = Less lift, less drag No atmosphere = No lift, No drag Just an idea I thought I would through out.

I may compile my spacebuild map tonight? Shall I not?
Yes do that please.
298K is 25 degrees C, which is a bit above room temperature. 288K is 15 degrees, which is just below room temperature, and is a fairly cool day temperature.
Yep. I just wish that the gamemode had a range of acceptable temperatures, not a single, chilly one.
Just now releasing the V3.1 Patch for SpaceBuild V3 Gamemode. Make sure you have downloaded SpaceBuild V3 before installing this. New to Version 3.1: -Added: Automatically supports all new SEnts -Added: Sun Heat/Burn/Bloom effects increase as you approach the surface on gm_solarsystem(Thanks Jinto!) -Fixed: Some weird behavior... Happy Earth Day! Edit:
Yep. I just wish that the gamemode had a range of acceptable temperatures, not a single, chilly one.
You don't really take damage until the temperature becomes too extreme. Within a range of about 20 degrees you'll do nothing but "flinch" every second or so, not *too* bad, it's weird I know and will be addressed when the next patch also deals with pressure effects.
Well After having a lot of fun playing spacebuild I have made lots of images to show you of my adventures! I have got all the ideas together, however I need shanjaq or someone to add team spawning support to spacebuild OR you might end up in the enemies base. Not a good situation to be in. :tinfoil: So far I have got move able giant asteroids that are breakable for epic space battle wars. Plus I'm thinking about a way to get the planets surface to spin :excited:

There is no doubt about it. Space Build are the best gamemode (almost, it shares it's place with ZS)
(almost, it shares it's place with ZS)
Aye! Zombie Survival is a blast! :] Thanks, it's been amazing to see what people create with it! Plus there are a few more "concept map" ideas to try as soon as we can support multiple suns ;)
in GM_Orbit all players spawned in a selection room where they chose a team by walking into a portal, would that work?
Not really because you will get people making doomsday devices in that room then going into the opposite teams base. Also it would allow people to change teams easily so they go on the winning side, I would like the map to be fair so it would force fair teams. I could ask someone who is good at lua to add team support if you are too busy at the moment.
Best gamemode ever! Even tough i'm just borrowing a pals GMod, it's the best! Altough i'm having some truble with small rockets that are using thrusters, the thrusters are either too powerfull, or too weak, so i have to get them out in space by physgunning them... But it's the best, keep it up!
Just keep tweaking the thrusters till they work! Don't give in to the hoverballs!
I'm working on a main ship drive engine (I'm not very far along yet). I hoping to make it so ship can move more realistically, have several modes of operation and demand energy proportional to the amount of force generated. I'm shooting for requiring 7000 energy per tick to lift a large ship off a planet and only requiring one (though you may need to weld most of the ship to it). I would like if servers would take away the weight stool, or if Shanjaq forces reactor mass, because it would be cheating to mod the mass of the ship and it's power generators as to require less power for the engine. Might have something to test on a sever this weekend or next.
(Regarding the team-based discussion on the last page.) My spacewar map, which is really close to release, uses the info_player_combine and info_player_rebel spawn points for opposite teams. I don't know much about Lua scripting, but it should be too hard for somebody to add team-based spawning support, even in some addon independent of spacebuild. Also, Shanjaq, thanks for addressing the temperature issue. :D tad, I think the weight stool is good to have around because a lot of HL2 props come with bad weight values that need to be fixed anyway.
tad, I think the weight stool is good to have around because a lot of HL2 props come with bad weight values that need to be fixed anyway.
Yeah, some of the HL2 stuff is wonkie. I should add admin options to it disable modifying things like PHX models and LS stuff, or at least not allowing changes of more that 15%.

That would be cool if it did. Personally I have not experimented with doing that yet but could you tell me if it works how I think it does? Also I think we shall keep bugging people to make an EMP (electro-magnetic pulse) So it frazzles wire chips forcing them to output strange values, however it would not destroy any wiring because wiring takes a long time to do and would be annoying if your auto pilot you had been working on for hours exploded! I think it would be cool to just make constant value output random numbers every couple of ticks and overcharging energy cells causing sparks to come out of them! Also it could make compressors exchangers turn on and off rapidly. This would last about 30 seconds so you can laugh at the enemy's ship's computers going insane!
