Is there a way to build or live on jupiter i keep dieing when i get off ship
Is there a way to build or live on jupiter i keep dieing when i get off ship
you have to be near a heat or air exchanger(can't remember which one) to survive there, the air pressure is too high.
Air exchangers normalize your atmospheric pressure. In english, you need an air exchanger.
1€ for the guy that fixes savegames ! :D
sv_defaultgamemode Spacebuild Gimme mah money!
hehe :D nice try but I tried that allready (tried it again just for you :))
Sorry everyone, all of my current projects have to be put on hold because of this error preventing me from running GMod: http://forums.facepunchstudios.com/showthread.php?t=326636
Quick question... I have just returned from a several month hiatus from GMOD 10 and I need some help...does this whole thing go into addons, or what?
Quick question... I have just returned from a several month hiatus from GMOD 10 and I need some help...does this whole thing go into addons, or what?
No, it goes into the gamemode folder I think. It's the lifesupport mod that goes into addons folder.
This is odd. I don't seem to have a folder of gamemodes in my garrysmod folder. Do I have to make my own, or is it in another file, or is mine just missing? Never mind, I found it IN the "addons" folder. Thanks. Sorry for the triple edit, but when I put the entire gamemode inside my garrysmod gamemode file, it didn't show up in my gamemodes list! Help!
Awesome gamemode, but I played it last night with a couple friends on my listen server... It was fun, but the Life Support wasn't necessary. The atmosphere on every planet was perfectly safe, same applies to outer space. I even tried jumping in the water on Earth, only to find that I wasn't drowning. Is there a way to fix this? It pretty much ruins the game. :(
Are you sure you were in the Space Build gamemode? It sounds like you were just in sandbox mode.
I'm sure. I definitely loaded Spacebuild, not Sandbox.
Not the map, silly! The gamemode! Perhaps you can just try to reinstall the modification, and make sure you have it set to spacebuild when you start otherwise -- OH NO! -- It won't work! :O
I loaded Spacebuild, not Sandbox. I've never seen a map called Sandbox.
I loaded Spacebuild, not Sandbox. I've never seen a map called Sandbox.
There's a little thing under the map icon thing that says "Gamemode:" and then a pull-down menu of all available game mode. Make sure you have "Spacebuild" selected. If you think I'm stupid and I don't know what I am talking about, I can get you a pic. But it REALLY shouldn't be nesscery.
Again, I loaded SpaceBuild. I even double-checked that little menu at the bottom. Besides, the coolant and heat exchangers wouldn't be present if I hadn't loaded SpaceBuild. But they were there.

Shanjaq, what do I need to change in the script to get my satellites circle around one planet, like real satellites do?
Again, I loaded SpaceBuild. I even double-checked that little menu at the bottom. Besides, the coolant and heat exchangers wouldn't be present if I hadn't loaded SpaceBuild. But they were there.
Are you sure you loaded spacebuild? Life support will always be there, as it's in addon format, not gamemode. Here's the little menu thing. You hit the arrow to pull it down and select "Spacebuild." If that doesn't work, you probably copied the files in the wrong directory (gamemodes goes directly into the garrysmod folder) or you have mods that are conflicting (delete your garrysmod folder.)
Jesus tap-dancing christ, for the fifth time, I loaded the game mode Space Build, not the game mode Sandbox. Is that clear enough for you now? Or do I have to spell it all phonetically?
I'm just trying to help you out.
(such as in Jinto's upcoming SolarSystem map!)
I thought Jinto was suppost to be working on VMF Suite.
I thought Jinto was suppost to be working on VMF Suite.
He is, he finished that map a couple of weeks ago.
Again, I loaded SpaceBuild. I even double-checked that little menu at the bottom. Besides, the coolant and heat exchangers wouldn't be present if I hadn't loaded SpaceBuild. But they were there.
In fact, in this topic, whatever the question is, you will be answered "Are you in Space Build mod ?". Universal Question.
Ha look what spacebuild has turned the community into, this is what someone made on my server last night(87.117.225.228:27015). It flew really well it was good and hard :D
Wow that's very nice, looks well built and neat as well. Say I was wondering...are there any more space maps around?
There's gm_spacebuild_v3, gm_spacetreck, gm_solarystem_v2. I was talking with some people on shanjaq's server about adding role-play elements (deviating from the resources side of things for a little while). We agreed in general to keep things as simple as possible at the same time allow a dimension of personalization. The first thing we spoke about dealt with the basic stats. The trend seems to be against the traditional character creation, but I feel it is more appropriate for the spacebuild side of things. I would set up a character creation dialog the first time you join a server and you'd set some of the following: Stats Strength - Dictates how high you can jump, melee damage, maximum armor Dexterity - Controls your running speed and accuracy with ranged weapons Consitution - Determines your tolerence to heat/cold, damage resistance, and maximum health Intelligence - Controls construction. Higher intelligence grants more efficent systems, greater flexibility in construction of ships. Wisdom - Determines your money making potential, access to highly specialized skills and tools Charisma - Controls prices of items, as well as teamwork bonuses. I would say handle it with a 1-10 scale with 5 being average. Health for example, determined by constitution, would default at 75% for a rating of 5, and for each level above it go up 7% making a consitution of 10 a 110 health max. The special abilities referenced by the last three skills would be quite dependent on the server (make it modular I'd think). For INT for example, all life support systems would have a penalty or bonus associated with construction. Take air tank capacity for example. With an INT of 5, a small air tank holds 6000 air. At INT 10 (assume 7% again) the 6000 raises to 8100! The opposite also holds true. An INT of 1 would make the small air tank only hold 3900. Anything else people can think of?
Perhaps if Coal mining was introduced, strength coud be a factor there...
