Well, this may only apply to the travelers, but with zero gravity, you don't really need hoverballs. It's just not fun. Now, making a colony rocket that launches straight up, arcs to the target planet, and crash lands between some hills, that's awesome! It even had a launch stand *sniff*. But for big capital ships where people are floating around and stuff, yeah, hoverballs are good for that.

I've modified Studentloon's Anti gravity sphere to allow gravity in a small radius while in space. I'll upload it and put it in this thread, but give full credit to him.

ALL CREDIT GOES TO STUDENTLOON, I ONLY EDITED A SINGLE LINE OF HIS CODE AND HE DESERVES ALL OF THE CREDIT! It's an addon, it goes in the addons folder. All it basically does is give you gravity while out in space, allowing you to walk normally inside of a space station. I suggest you WELD it to your space station or space ship (see bugs). Props are not affected by this, they float while PLAYERS get gravity. (see bugs) To activate/deactivate, walk up to the entity and press your action key. BUGS: When a prop begins to move away from the entity, it may momentarily have gravity.
I gotta log in Bounda. Do you got anywhere else to host?
Yes, I don't want to register, too. Maybe upload it on Garrysmod.org
Bounda seriously host it somewhere else, I registered but I got no email from the people.
Me neither.
Sorry, i thought i had that permission disabled, it shouldn't ask you that. One minute. I didn't know registering at garrysmod.org was so simple..
I just played for a full hour and had so much fun! I'm going to make a map for it soon!
Ok this map is weird for me. For example, there is gravity in space and I don't get hurt in space with nothing on. Plus, I don't get burned or crushed. someone please help me.
This is a little off topic, but someone needs to make a gravity core mod. Edit:
Ok this map is weird for me. Sorry about the pointless post above i diddn't read anything on this page.
A Great Gamemode & Map! I'm having a few problems on my rented dedicated though, you can breathe in space and on any other planets (except Venus of course), I have life support installed and it works in the water on Earth, just not in space. Any Help?
Do you have the latest version?
I Have played this gamemode all day. It is fucking great. I am eagerly awaiting the next few chapters with the gas giants and such. I want neptune damnit!
Dammit, when I load a save that's in this gamemode it switches to sandbox... Is there a workaround?
Maybe sv_gamemode "Spacebuild", don't know
In autoexec.cfg, put this:
sv_defaultgamemode SpaceBuild map gm_spacebuild
The order is important. You MUST load the gamemode before you do the map command. That will load the gamemode from the start. If you want to change the map and load the gamemode, do this: Make a file called spacebuild.cfg in your /cfg folder. Put this in it:
sv_defaultgamemode spacebuild changelevel gm_spacebuild
The only difference is the changelevel, instead of map.
-edit- Some one beat me to it.
But he want to load a savegame. Not just load the map with the Spacebuild gamemode.

But if I just want to build on a planet I'll build a hoverball ship.
But he want to load a savegame. Not just load the map with the Spacebuild gamemode.
It says somewhere that you can't load savegames on SpaceBuild. Closest you can do is use the copygun.
I think it would be a nice idea, if each planet gets an orbit where thinks can fly around the planet. (NPCs and real players too)
Hmm, I've been able to go into a sort of orbit a few times. It's fairly annoying when you're trying to go past a planet and you get sucked into it's field.
Like in Real, i think it's a Good Idea
shanjaq, venus is red and not much gas on it, it just cloud so 80% of lights go trough it and the the planet is like a mirror for the 20% light that comes trough Edit: and you should get damage by the cold there if you dont haves a house or something, you could make a firetree thing that you could burn so you keep warm Edit: and of course you could make the sun and the clooser you get to it the more damage you will get and you will start getting dagamage at merkurius
