I mean, moderate the comments and shit like that. [editline]07:56PM[/editline]
no, silly, there are models out there that can make your crowbar look like a swedish dildo
Incoming dildo knives

I REALLY want to see this implemented outside CloudScript. Perhaps as a way to guarantee that people will be getting content by detecting which ones are lacking clientside and forcing the server to fetch them. Does the current system save to a special folder or to the regular models/materials/whatever folders?
You mean dumb Adv. Dupes?
That just gave me an idea...
It'd be awesome, if that you could actually DL maps in Cloudscript clientside in multiplayer, so you can download it while playing, instead of waiting for it to download in the loading screen.
awesome
If you can download lua scripts for weapons etc and use them on the fly does that mean you could create a live in game lua editor
I hope all old entities and SWEPS from cloudscript will be downloadable? It was fun playing with harmless cube and telling your friend: " It is right behind you RUUUUN"
Yeah it's saved locally - so you don't have to re-download it every time.
Are you going to use CRC/Hash checks? These would be nice, so if we had to change something - maybe fix a texture - the new version would be auto-downloaded.
It's already revisioned
Will the content be deleted after a specific amount of time? I'm sure many people are willing to re-download content that hasn't been used for, say, 1 month or so, and isn't on the favorite list. Otherwise you'd end up with a huge fuckton of cache files.
Yeah it's saved locally - so you don't have to re-download it every time.
What if the content was updated? Say like a model update, etc. Will the content be replaced with the new version, even if the model name was the same? Normally if a user has an old version of a model from a GM for example, and a new one is available, if the two have the same name, then the user is not able to download the new version when he/she connects to the GM server.
Garry, don't add downloads! Don't make Cloudscript second Garrysmod.org! Cloudscript will be spammed with custom models and sounds!
Hey I have a suggestion. I would suggest that CS:S, DoD:S, et cetera models from other VALVe games do not get downloaded. If they are, then the user can just extract the models. There could be an entire underground piracy thing, where one user uploads game models of all kinds as sweps and other users download them and extract them!
Yes, models from non-mounted games should be in blacklists.
you could just leave them as temp materials/models, which can only be used in singleplayer. Because people wan't other people to see what they have made, even if they don't have content (of unmounted games).
Where's the section where I need to place the required sounds or files? Because uploading the script without the required files would just cause errors...
I think CloudScript should be used for fairly small downloads, Leave the Bigassed Content files to a website.
The upload section isn't done yet. I'll let you know when it is. In the meantime I threw up the bowling ball entity for you to test the downloading with.
Thanks garry :D
Can I suggest refresh buttons outside the HTML element, so that if your internet drops the packets or disconnects, you aren't staring at a blank screen forever? Packet loss just kills ToyBox, the only way to get it back is to fiddle with refreshing the spawnmenu.
Toybox is SCRIPT cloud. So, it should be limited ONLY to scripts.

Huge glitch with this. You go onto a weapon, see it's comments, click on the person's Icon. You go to their steam page. AND YOU ARE UNABLE TO GO BACK. Help? D:
I clicked on the Icon by accident, and it made the whole ToyBox tab the Steam Acc. I can go onto other tabs, but when I go on that one, It's their steam page.
I went in game and clicked your bowling ball. The downloading animation - I'd delete the toybox\materials and toybox\models folders every time b/c of how entertaining it is to watch and hear the files downloading. It sounds so neat! Edit: I wasn't joking D: I really do :|
Toybox is SCRIPT cloud. So, it should be limited ONLY to scripts.
Cloudscript was really just a beta name, meaning that he was implementing running scripts from the cloud. I'm actually glad he realized he should change the name.
Would this be able to support svns?
Would this be able to support svns?
Toybox is auto-updating, what's point of SVNs then?
You should have a tab in Toybox where we can view our cache downloaded entities(maybe similarly to the current addons in-game screen) where we can delete entity data we no longer want. Otherwise, it's going to be just as bad as having a ton of regular icons clogging up your game.
I don't understand - what do you mean? Clogged up?
