yes it does matter. it both are types of computers indeed. but since mac is more expensive kid's wont be able to buy them. which will bring us more mature players when mac compatibility is implemented. and mac is not waste of money. mac's just don't work very well with gaming.
Then I see no use for it. If you're going to buy a gaming computer, don't waste your money. You could buy a GTX 480 for $500 (Pulling that number up, I think it's still around $500) or you could buy a GTX 260 for $750. That's the Windows and Mac comparison. Anyways, don't care either way. As long as the people that play on Mac don't try to preach to us.
I don't have a Mac so I really shouldn't care. It will be better for Garry because he can earn money off of a wider user base.
I don't have a Mac so it doesn't affect me, but I suppose having the game on as many platforms as possible is good. The only people who pick "bad idea" are elitist pricks, really.
Yes, make it for mac. It's making me want to buy a mac now.
I've been playing it on bootcamp for quite a while now, so a Mac version would just mean I can delete my Windows partition.
I still don't think that Macs should be used gaming platforms atleast thinking in an economic way, as people can make gaming rigs for half the price and double the performance of a Mac.

They should totally have to at least buy a windows license to play this game. I don't really think it really matters. The community could use more players, don't see why their operating system of choice matters.
mac users are usually more mature than windows users, due to the fact kids can't afford a mac.
im not sure how you bridged that..but In-Game.. People will be people.
Now make it for Linux. (Steam is being made for Linux)
Steam is not being made for Linux. This was a rumour and lately (around the end of August), Valve said it's not going to happen in the near future.
I wish they'd make it though. I've been itching to switch to Linux..
you can use wine or crosslink. then linux may work for you. don't know if wine is gmod compatible though
It is, but it isn't stable. Wine runs any Source engine game to a varying degree, even on computers with exactly the same setups you can get differences, it is the only real option on Linux mind you.
What's wrong with mac anyways?
yes that's true. but unstable is better then nothing. I'm also thinking about linux. But I don't think I'll switch since wine unstability. I'll just wait till something stable is available
Most of the instability is just performance drops, Wine is doing quite a task, changing any Windows API/ DirectX functions into OpenGL/ Linux functions as they are called. It can work excellently at times, but ever since the Steam client UI update, Steam itself has been running fairly odd for me.
It's a good idea. What the fuck is bad about supporting another OS. It doesn't effect you if you don't have a mac, and if you do, then you get the option to play gmod on it - which is good. People need to stop being whiny bitches like macs are lepers or something.
More players is a good thing, more elitist assholes is a bad thing. I don't care about the update, as I don't own a mac.
As long as there won't be people arguing which system is better, then I don't care.
Im just wondering... Is there a SVN Update thingy for Mac OS?
It is fine, unless they ask me how to freeze a prop. [editline]08:06AM[/editline]
Im just wondering... Is there a SVN Update thingy for Mac OS?
Yes
ever since the Steam client UI update, Steam itself has been running fairly odd for me.
Oh good, I thought that was just me! I haaaaate the new UI. Feels like I'm running Steam on my original iMac. Click on something *waits ten seconds* something happens.
I still don't think that Macs should be used gaming platforms atleast thinking in an economic way, as people can make gaming rigs for half the price and double the performance of a Mac.
Of course not. People will still primarily make games for PCs but that doesn't mean Macs can't have some too.
Steam is not being made for Linux. This was a rumour and lately (around the end of August), Valve said it's not going to happen in the near future.
Which is a mistake, imo. I know a load of people itching to get rid of their Windows partitions. The only thing holding them back is lack of Steam on Linux.
Under Windows I have no issues, under Wine, dear lord take it away :ohdear:
Same. Just same. Damn you Fallout 3! The one game I own that doesn't work on Wine :C

just a few hours gmod will turn in a zerg rush infestation of macs
I don't understand what the problem is. It gives Gmod a wider market - does that offend you in some way? Not everyone goes straight into multiplayer once they get Gmod you know.
holy shit mac support coming tonight
can't wait :D
At least nobody using the Mac version of GMod will have BaconBot installed. [editline]10:01PM[/editline] That's the only benefit I can see. Besides from more minges, but the proportion is probably going to be similar to the number of minges on Windows.
