To be honest I have yet to ever see a mac user that plays steam games say something about mac elitism.
We don't really care about what the windows users say even though they try to hurt us. It's a waste of their time and a waste of ours to be upset about some silly operating system elitism.
Basically put whenever I get abused (which doesn't happen often at all) I just switch servers. Then again I live in europe...

I don't think Mommy and Daddy would let little Jimmy play on their $5,000 mac.
The only negative effects we can get out of this is what the community does.
I expect a whole fucking lot of elitism from both sides.
