Hey man. By Prison Escape, I'm going to guess you mean JailBreak. Considering we (LifePunch) host a bunch of these and they seem to be fairly populated, I'm going to assume you had a bad experience there. Or maybe on another JailBreak server, in any case, let me give you some pointers;
JailBreak is a really fast paced game because the entire goal is for guards to trick prisoners into disobeying them, so they kind of don't WANT you to be paying attention to what they're saying. Trust me, I KNOW how frustrating it is because I've ragequit god knows how many times from JB servers on CSS. But trust me and stick with it, especially on Garry's Mod. Once you know what all the terms are/what all the most common orders are, it will be a breeze and you'll start having fun sneaking around, tricking guards/prisoners, etc. It's really satisfying. Trust me and give it another go. If you play on LifePunch, add one of the EVIPs on your friends' list and befriend them and ask them to help you out - they'll tell you why you died each time you get killed by a guard and it'll slowly and surely make sense to you. We're really friendly on LifePunch and would love to help you get accustomed to the gamemode. We know how hard it can be for new players. Just try not to get frustrated while playing it.

Because if it's the former, I'd appreciate some source/concrete to back up your claims since we do get DDoS'd pretty often (to no avail, we've been up for almost a year and half now) but I stray far far far away from the "hostile" scene and don't handle our issues with petty stuff like that. Yea he's on about someone else attacking other communities. I think he's on about roflewaffle who was known for attacking tons of people. But there are multiple roflewaffles and like you I tend to stay out of the ddos drama.
If I get bored I've plenty of people to argue ban reasons with for drama, don't need to get into the skiddie scene myself either ;)

Ontopic, BYB has its demons, but at least it doesn't lack structure like some of the non-official PERP servers.
ByB for starters.
Every single member of the administration team has a real problem taking criticism from their playerbase.
They sell admin.
They are pay2win.
No RP gamemodes except for DarkRP because its the easiest and most profitable.
Little kids with full admin rights acting like dicks.
Extremely questionable administrator choices.
Extremely questionable ban decisions.
Extremely questionable forgiveness of bad admins.
ACTUAL roleplaying is pretty much frowned upon.
The servers are basically moneyfarms for anyone who donates and no one knows what roleplay actually is (least of all the admins)
Pages upon pages of arbitrary permbans with little/no real reasoning other than an 'important' admin or two were literally on their period.
Trying to get an answer about rules is like trying to ask how George Bush managed to get reelected for a second time.
Most of the admins are completely oblivious to the difference between RP and OOC and the owner doesn't really seem to really care unless it involves PayPal fraud.
They go and make admin disrespect an invalid ban reason then try to validate admin disrespect bans not more than a few days later.
They completely ignore any legitimate criticism of their servers and community as that would have to be "admin disrespect". In the eyes of ByB, there is literally NOTHING they could EVER DO to improve.
You're not allowed to request admin support via the shoutbox (they always insist you should use the ticket system....)
Also trying to act like their ticketing system is hot shit--except there are currently 120+ tickets that haven't been resolved. Most tickets never get resolved because the administrators don't want to go through the logs unless they absolutely have to. Basically if there was an abusive player right now it'd probably take a week or more for them to do anything about it. Most of the admins shouldn't even be admins as they seem to lack any real interest in playing through hour long demo files.
I guess if there was to be anything to their credit it would be that they don't let abusers re-buy admin; but with everything else they do its like trying to put icing powder on a pile of dogshit. The mere fact they sell admin is hilarious on its own.
Hellzone is bad but not as bad as ByB. The owner is like a fleamarket for drama. They constantly cry over stupid shit. Roleplaying literally isn't allowed.
Impacted used to be terrible; but to their credit their server was much higher quality than most and had some unique concepts. They also demote admins that act like children instead of backing them up like most RP communities do.

I joined your server once and ragequit cause I always got killed. I got killed because the person giving orders spoke on the mic and I had my sound off, you can't force me to turn it on, plus when I turned it on I could barely understand 2 words.

I've read multiple threads on here where many users have confronted the owner regarding his community and it sounds very much as if he won't do anything that involves making less money than they possibly do at the moment.
Both ByB and Lifepunch.net servers, among others. Selling admin or paying for special features that every player should be getting isn't cool. Simply leads to bad admins and elitism.

Over generalized statement. Some gamemodes require that you can hear people talking. In Monkey's example, the Jailbreak gamemode requires that you can hear the warden, otherwise you're stuck. Other games, you might need sound to tell you when to turn, go, etc. etc.

I went without audio for a few days back on ExiledServers and I changed my name to "wauterboi [no-sound]". People were usually generous enough to type stuff out for me but not everyone did. Unless it had to do with administration I didn't force any of them to type because the game doesn't revolve around me and no one should have to change their gaming experience because I'm trying to play with a disadvantage.

Ever tried Terminator Roleplay by any chance? Just because it's part of TnB, doesn't mean it's going to be shit. I'm sure many people have played on HL2 rp here, and the fact is, a lot of people expect it to be a version of Dark RP. Same thing with TRP. They join, and are very confused as to what to do. 9 times out of ten everything is errors for them. It is very difficult for a new player to get into aTnB server alone, they will need some help. We try to welcome them to the server the best we can, and give them the help they need. though there are those few bad apples on every tree.
And the things about Dave are outrageous. Yes, he likes to dress up as a female. Big deal. I m sure we all do Wierd things that people would judge us by if we were to reveal them.
