The old Springmoss was a different theme, and was in the 1950's. This one is just a modern time RP and should be renamed to some other cool name.

Just because something is in perp2 doesn't mean it can't be in any other gamemode at all. It wasn't stolen, obviously, as perp2 isn't leaked or out.
Also, there spinning car in located in the [i]map[/i] while obviously this uses lua.

not sure, i haven't played perp2 yet, and i know that's not 1950's car, but i haven't got around to getting the car models for the older ones, ALSO, currently im changing the Derma skins/HUD to fix Springmoss again, this was all just filler until i got some things done, after that, ill finish up the inventory core probably tonight. I realize most of you judge the theme based on colors and layouts? Well that was just the most simple colors i had on hand, the greens and yellows are a bit tedious if you don't save the hex codes, anyway...whether or not you guys rate dumb, or downgrade what i'm doing, i will continue to do it. If any one of you downloaded the release gorrilaz did, then you can see Averice did something Called IScript, which was black and white, then based Springmoss off that, and changed colors. But continue rating dumb if it's that important to you, But i won't affect the progress.
What does everyone think about the post process effects on the screen?, and i think i will go will the original HUD, i really dislike those colors on this HUD

Here are the colors i used if you want them, It's entirely up to you if you use them or not.
Yellow from the border: Color(215,186,0,255);
Green main background: Color(40,110,4,220);
Green from inside sections: Color(36,92,0,210);
Also iScript was a gamemode i had only just started when i applied for the coding position for SpringMoss, so i decided to just use that seeing as it was only 1 file long at that stage.
What about adding a film reel effect.. random blotches etc.
Forgive me if you're trying to pursue this in a different direction than the original, but I'll give you some insight as to what I believe the original team was trying to "create";
We were going for the old-style country town look, not a dull community but the town was judging by what I had seen with the map was going to be bright and sunny, placing post process effects over the screen to make it look more oppressed really sorta ruins the bright and colorful work Snapster had done on the map, that is if you are using the original map.
Anyways, that's the last thing I'll say about the original development direction as it is not up to the original team anymore, this is your gamemode and you make it how you wish. Good luck mate.

yeah, my thoughts were it was a bit to colored+black and white.....i was debating on PP effects...but a map as is, the map he has the sun is just a normal sun, and the normal textures etc, i just didn't want it to look like a normal garrysmod gamemode.

nope, didn't forget, for some reason text wrapping on Dlabels, when i put a space? it makes one word per line...i don't understand it. so i may make something new
also, i helped polkm make a Quest editor for his UDK for underdone, i'm going to do the same i think? release an addon to let the community make food,items etc...of course they will be reviewed before put it..but i think it may be a good idea though it would be called SDK, which may conflict with a couple different applications :)

something similar for springmoss for the community, also i uses rawio, a file write module that lets your write .lua or any extension files :) so i have it output a lua file, you guys zip it up and send me it, this will be released today.

Anyway, i'm going to sleep for a couple hours, haven't slept in 2 days been working on things, so after i get rest,ill start the "SDK" and release it, should only take a hour or so, SEE YOU THEN!
Also, i plan on adding something simple, so you only get payed IF you have a job, and a dynamic job core, so your employer can raise your wages or lower, etc. i haven't figured out how im going to do that, whether we can have some SNPC employers, and jobs, and you have to do your job, or player managed. But; i don't see the point in people getting payed unless they're working, since welfare wasn't popular until the 60's.

The original plan was "Contract jobs" like planned in the first revision of Springmoss. I think that's what he's going for here.

well, i have a XP/level system done...but im not sure what the use ill for it yet, i guess i could do maybe Age? that way....the more experience you have with the world...im not totally sure, if you have any ideas, let me know.

Mmm, now with a level and XP system I can't really consider this RP. But since you have a pretty sweet HUD and level system, p'haps this can be an RPG with quests/contracts, a travel system and maybe some of the original farming elements?
