I need a quick clarification. - Garry's Mod

I'm planning on buying Garry's Mod for myself and my girlfriend. The requirements for Garry's Mod state that you need any Source Engine game that includes the SDK. I'm more than covered there (Half-Life 2, HL2:DM, CS:S, TF2, etc.), but all she owns on her Steam account is Half-Life 2. I understand that logically fits the bill, but I just wanted to make absolutely sure she didn't also need Half-Life 2: Deathmatch; I ask because Garry's Mod 9 required Half-Life 2 Deathmatch back in the day (and she doesn't have it). Apologies if I posted this in the wrong place. I scoped out the help forum but it looked like pretty much 100% tech support, and I didn't want to bog it down with my simple question. Thanks!

As long as it has the sourse engine, its fine.

She doesn't need it, Gmod 10 has it's own multiplayer support now.

She owns Hl2 already, she doesnt need another game, however if she wants to see more of gmod, she has the complete option of buying CS:S(Which is like $15) or getting the Gmod + CS:S package which will solve all problems. From thereon out, any other game is pretty much optional.

Now SEE, I got fucked, because a couple of days into GMOD, I was told I needed CS for GMOD, and I got FUCKED out of $5 because I didn't know ahead of time... YES Valve does fuck you by not letting you know you need CS ahead of time before you order.... Well actually I didn't get fucked out of $5 yet, because I refuse to buy CS for $20... It's like, 5 6 year old game now? Drop the price GREEDY FUCKS...
