I always get in the range of 600kb/s to 700kb/s downloading normally, i guess that's because i live in Australia and gmod.org isn't generally in it's "peak" hour when i go to download stuff from it.
I'm going to point out Garry moved the Gmod.org servers to a new, better and faster host, hence the better download speeds.

But this really did speed up download at a freind house - he got form 70ish kbps to 200 kbps
oh and do learn to count, its has 3 zeors, not four...
