I have Phoenix-Storms on my friend list, he said he's keeping the SVN so he can add models easily.
In that case, please pass on my request for him to release PHX3 as it is currently more than acceptable, then use the SVN for PHX4. Also to add an actual 4x4 glass sheet. The current ones are 3x3.
The issue is, since it's not officially released outside svn, all you will find are outdated reuploads. Ive told many noobs that join my server and complain of errors to get wire and phx. They come back with garrysmod.org versions and they still see errors and their Wire doesn't work at all. Though svn isn't a release method, not intended as one anyway, it still proves more streamlined then the rather clunky, more manual method of reuploads, which are not only technically theft, but deal with version incompatibility, and simply not being at a recent enough revision. If I were to release a major addon, I would always use svn, as I would never finish it. Always I would think of something to add, as has been the case with phx3 and wire. Though there are always v2 releases etc, those are simple tools, weapons or maps. One time projects. Wire updates all the time, so does phx, (though not quite as often). Look at gmod. It updates all the time. It is never finished. Garry always finds something to add. Really though, poor OP didn't come here for a distribution war. He just wanted a working, up to date phx. To be sure of that, I must suggest svn. Of course, those who choose otherwise dint have to use svn, I reccomend it in the highest. @above post by lexic, that would be nice, I would like to see wood and glass versions of all the plastic props. Even the huge ones in the useful and explosive catagory.
I have allready suggested one SVN auto updater, that even gets rid of the problem lexic posted, and PHX DOES update.
With the SVN version you are sure you have all the models and it get's updated or fixed now and then. And yes the first time you need to download a lot, but with each update you only need to download the files that have changed. So I would say use SVN or don't complain about the Red Errors.
