An April Fool's Joke That Nearly Gave Me A Heart Attack - Garry's Mod

There isn't a hope for them...don't they know an innocent april fools joke when they see it? I would only believe it if I saw concrete evidence for it, such as people suddenly poor because they downloaded military models.

Ummm... this looks serious. As of 8:17 Eastern Standard Time, they haven't posted a retraction. BAD! VERY BAD!

These jokes aren't funny. The reactions they cause on Facepunch are.

This has to be a joke. No one in their right mind would expect you to pay for as is downloads a la garrysmod.org. If this is not a joke then Garry is nuts. What would make a hell of a lot more sense would be to select mature addons like phx wiremod and stuff and make them real cheap then sell them fully supported through steam. Allow the community to continue creating through garrysmod.org and just elevate well used mods and add full support for these mods, leaving garrysmod.org basically as is. I would not object to much to paying $1 for a fully supported wiremod or phx if they were promised to be fully supported, updated automatically through steam, and more reliably built and would not break when gmod was updated. The current set up is not a smart way to go about things. I for one would have a lot more expectations for the add-ons if I had to pay for them. So I guess what I am saying is do not want to pay for addons but I would consider paying one time to have support for the addons. Maybe even allow people to post them on facepunch still for people to continue to download updated versions, who do not want to pay for it, but for me that would get old and I would cough up the $1 to have it updated automatically whenever I load steam. That sounds a million times more reasonable to me than what was posted.

If an addon costs $1 and gets 10,000 downloads and the creator gets 10% he will get $1,000 (the creator) so I think it's a joke but not a funny one. At least for me.
