The Idea is good, good luck!
Whisper, Kick and Promote will be in the empty space beside each member. Obviously Kick and Promote buttons will only be there for people with the right ranks.
I request a "track" button that shines a beam down on that person that only you can see. (Only available to fellow faction members)
I request a "track" button that shines a beam down on that person that only you can see. Thirdperson or Firstperson Opinions please.
I'd prefer first person, but if toggable that'd be nice.
I'd prefer first person, but if toggable that'd be nice.
I guess that could work. Just finished the faction War system everybody. Also synced achievements, inventory and faction war history with the proper clients so everything is running smoothly. Also finished up some things with the play timer so i can add achievements and to help finalize the ranking system. Everything is coming along nicely. At this rate it will be playable in no time.
Yes, first person AND third person would be awesome :)
Playable if I can get a damn swep made! I am having problems with the SMD exporter for Blender, cant export bones.... I will keep trying.

For a lot more polished work and exporting, I'd recommend using Maya or 3Dsmax until Blender is in it's 2.5 final stage. http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=734991
I have a idea. Its a 'lil X rated but i think it will fit into the cannon. Make the characters nude in the beginning? Where they are forced to find resources and make their clothing? Like a tribal village going up to a advanced faction.

http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=734991
Ya, I've read through that already. I know I am doing everything correctly, the problem (I think) is that my smd importer does not import bones correctly(In a fasion that dvondrakes exporter can export) I don't know, I am in pretty far over my head, and I am probably just digging myself deeper in my attempts to make it work.
You'd probably want to minimise the amount of custom content is being included, surely there's plenty already.
Custom content size is not a problem, If people don't want to download content that is part of the gamemode then they don't play the gamemode. I accept ideas/support/constructive criticism and the like, but what I won't be doing is restricting the gamemode( Either by looks, or script wise ) for people who are too lazy to do things. While i started out with a nice concrete idea for this gamemode I still accept and encourage suggestions on how to improve what I have already started, but at the same time I would still like to keep it in the same 'direction' as my original idea. The content pack once complete will be split up into several smaller packs to help those who have small download caps so they can download small pieces each cycle for there Internet cap, that way they are slowly but surely receiving the content which makes the game better. Really important stuff would be placed in the first pack, and optional extras that enhance the look and feel would be placed in the rest.
Couldn't agree more, this gamemode should be to the level of quality that you want it to be at, and nothing less. There is no point in catering to anyone at the expense of an awesome gamemode ;D
Started working on the SWEP base for Anarchy today out of boredom, I'm amazed at how well it's working so far. It runs on a system to determine how the SWEP will function depending on the quality of the materials the player used to create it. There is a Required amount for each weapon to be built but also approx 16 optional extras to each blueprint, you can pick 2 extras, any 2, and it then gives you an updated list of materials needed to manufacture the weapon. I think this will bring a new type of variety to gameplay that has not been done before.

Once I get back from vacation I was gonna try map macking and as soon as I get the basics down(if i get the basics down)I really want to amke a map for this.
Looks pretty awesome you guys did a good job on this, as soon as this is out i'll be sure to play there all freaking day long...
So wait, how is PvP going to work? Faction war based, and you can't kill new players? if so, pvp toggling is retarded in a game called anarchy. because it's called anarchy for christs sake.
Oh god another RP Gamemode. Nah , this is really awesome. What's more the idea isn't used much so it makes this original as well. Amazing job so far, I'm sure you'll be able to improve everything in a farther time.

Unless it is a requested duel between 2 players for fun.

I don't think cavemen would place a bounty on each other.

Every time I come to this thread, my anticipation builds.
Every time I come to this thread, my anticipation builds.
Good to hear [editline]03:20PM[/editline] Will be working on the building stuff today and try to make it look fancy with the render library.. I'll have some pics up once I'm happy with it.
This gamemode looks absolutely wonderful. Although, you should add some anarchy-like aspects. Since Anarchy isn't all chaos and fighting (hoping this isn't what the gamemode will become) You should add a trading system, where a menu will pop up for the two people trading and you would each be able to put your items that you want to trade in little slots in the trade menu. Then you hit accept and it swaps the items. This would get rid of minge-grab and also would making trading stuff more official. Also, you should have to research certain things in order to make them. For example, if you want to make a car that runs on gas (gathered from oil rigs) then you have to research it first. Researching would cost some kind of payment, maybe 100wood units or 50oil units (idk). The way you would research something would be from a menu, perhaps F2 or F3. Or to make it even more faction based, you could make it that the only way something can be researched is if you are in a faction and the faction leader researches it.(Making it sort of a Technology race for each faction, who can get advanced first? Now I know you have advancements and stuff, which I don't know if they'll be the same. Researching would be fairly quick and only require some sort of resources. Advancement is like long term, big advances? Maybe advances require certain researched things? For Example: In order to Advance to make Oil rigs, you have to research a drill. The drill requires metal and springs. you also have research an engine of some kind, which would require different materials... Personally I think these aspects really add to a Anarchy-like environment. In the sense that its nearly impossible to survive completely alone because you'll need supplies or resources, which requires cooperation, plus you'll need the intellegence and mastery of certain skills from other people. Which brings me to my other idea. In a real survival situation, (dealing with real people) You'll have people with different skills. I know that some gamemodes have this but they never really go into depth of it. So I say you should... For example, only people that have a Technology Level of 5+ can research things for the faction. Or maybe the higher level Medical skill you have the more healing you can do. Perhaps you have lots of strength and stamina, you'd do best chopping wood. The better aim you have, the more likely you are to be put into a guard situation. Now this is going to be difficult because its going to have to be enforced by the faction leader, but it should also be a lot more distinct. I mean, all of the Kuroscript gamemodes have these stats, but they aren't used very well. So I say, in order to survive we need these aspects implemented within a faction.(Plus it makes you harder to kill) It makes the situation more realistic, and it will force the players to think choosing who they need and what they need most. For example, one faction has lots of guards, they are more hostile and most likely get their resources from wandering loners or possibly raids on other factions. Or another faction farms lots of wood so that they can have extremely strong walls, but since their workers might get injured on the job they also have lots of medics. Making a faction just got a lot harder, but it also just added a level of uniqueness to each faction. Most Importantly: I think this gamemode has lots of potential and could appeal to the love of the community in many ways. Best of luck to you, can't wait to see release day. EDIT: Achievement Suggestions: 21st Century Space Race: Research five new things within three hours. Loner: Spend atleast four hours without joining a faction. Genocide: Lead a faction raid, involving eight or more people, and kill twenty-six people. Down Below: Fall 16ft without dying. Up, Up, and Away!: Have a team of technology skilled people launch a device up into the atmosphere. Ghost Soldier: Listen in on a text-conversation without being seen. Watch Tower: Stand in the same place, with a gun in hand, for atleast fourty-five minutes. Good Game: Achieve all achievements. -Aside from ideas/acheivements: I'd like to map for this gamemode, anything in particular that I need to know?
Ok, the hammer swep is ingame. It is technically (in game) but not working yet. I can only catch glimpses of it when I turn very quickly. I am asking for help in the models section, and I will have pictures as soon as the hammer is visible. (You can see it if you spawn it instead of equip it though, but I have not gotten around to converting the texture/material yet, so it still has the default texture xD) I hope to have the reference done completely very soon, then I can start on animations :smugdog:
Sounds pretty good, joined the server - really nice job on account creation. The gamemode looks promising, hope you don't ditch it.
Sounds pretty good, joined the server
How did you join it when it isn't up to date with latest Gmod patch? Did you join it before the patch or something?

I though I locked the other server though lol.
