Well lets look into the half-life world theory behind that... The Rebels could make safisticated weapons, they had the resources.
I think they got the rockets from the combine APCs. If you grab the rockets with the physics gun, then you can see that they look exactlly like the rockets fired from your RPG launcher.
Very good point, also new theory they could be like left over weapon racks or like storage racks, from the 7 hour war. If I remember correctly the citadel teleported in just as the war broke out right? So over that 7 hours they used up all the basic conquering weaponry and they were left with the stuff that we see now.
A giant rack? What type of weapons would hold? Consider the size of the Citadel.

I wouldn't say weapon racks, but they might've held a bunch of stuff to be teleported in like you said.
I don't think the citadel teleported in first, I think the military was trying to contain the few Combine that came through and the Citadel teleported in close to the end of the 7 hour war and the sheer number of syths made humanity surrender.
Maybe it is where the scanners are held?
Maybe it is where the scanners are held?
I believe the scanners are held on the opposite side because if you look at the citadel model up close in one map you can see a slit on the opposite side that is pretty decent in size. Also, I examined the scene at the begining of the game where all the scanners come out and it looked like they were aimed to the left, not out both sides. Besides, how big of a hole would you need for tiny scanners to come out of?
I'm sure aliens advanced as the Combine would have developed air conditioning by now.
It's not as much as the combine is super advanced but that the combine are super different.
Look at breencasts. They're bluish tinted and blurry. I don't find that a technological feat in anyway. If that was some big LCD screen, it would have realistic colors and be crystal clear.
Teleportation is another thing. By the time of Half Life 2, Earth has developed a way of teleportation using little energy and little time. In fact, at Aperture Laboratories, some time between HL1 and HL2, handheld teleportation is being developed.
So the combine may be backwards in some things (like modern electronics) but better at others (biological warfare)

No, it teleported in 2 weeks before the war ended, the combine teleport tech takes 2 weeks to teleport.
uh the war lasted 7 hours?
No, it teleported in 2 weeks before the war ended, the combine teleport tech takes 2 weeks to teleport.
The war was only 7 hours long..
thats what i said
But what if they predicted their victory and start teleportation 2 weeks before they invaded. Mind = blown :aaaaa:

Well maybe they were on top of the ribs? Like the top of an aircraft carrier.
Well maybe they were on top of the ribs? Like the top of an aircraft carrier.
I have no clue what you mean, could you explain a bit more?
You are looking directly at the ribs (as if you were floating in mid air) and scanners are on top of it and then they hover/fly off. Good enough or is it still a retard trying to teach algebra?

I think I get it. Sorta like if you tipped the citadel and the ribs were facing the sky?
So the ribs on the citadel are basically a giant hanger for the scanners. That makes alot of sense considering how many of them their are.

Thats not really what I think.
Think about the size of the scanners, now think about how BIG the citadel is and how many ribs there are.
I didnt think it was done yet.
I didnt think it was done yet.
Think what has been done yet?
I bet they are being held inside the citadel. Bur if you noticed, when the ribs get exposed, there are some black particles, it could be scanners or filth acummulated on the citadel plating tha fell down when the plates moved.

It's an effect, I have a full explination of my findings on page one about that particular scene, go look at it.
Maybe its because they just want to look cool...
Maybe its because they just want to look cool...
I can actually see the combine doing that, I think you're on to some thing.
Yeah, the ribs do make the citadel look more intimidating.
The citadel would still be intimidating as a giant featureless tower, but leaving part of the side standing open is like gloating to all remaining humans.
I think it's where a terrorist flew a 747 into.
they're just fucking support beams
Maybe their some kind of giant hydraulics to help move the bits of citadel around?
Gonna go off topic here but whats with the thing that says: cheater (apparently) thats plastered over alot of peoples avatars?

Hydraulics? Never thought of it that way. Hydraulics tend to generate heat so the combine have them open to the outside air to help cool them?
Off topic: My guess is that it is something on the forums that have a purpose like the "Banned" avatar.

Not quite. VALVe reccently accused anyone who used a external idler program to earn items in Team Fortress 2 a "cheater". So we are making a joke of it by saying that we are these so called "cheaters". Pretty much just another avatar fad.
Sweet, more avatar fads *rolls eyes*
I like my avatars too much to hide them with such things.
Its nice to know that VALVe is cracking down, I'm sick of cheaters/hackers.
Well, some hackers just make you laugh, so I guess not all are bad.
