List of suggestions (Don't care about previous posts) +Mercenarys +Mounted Guns +Snipers +LAZORZ ( WE NEED THESE ) +Corruption (Turning gangsters to your side) +Groupies (little gangs controlled by AI that follow you and protect you) +Nukes (Yes Nukes, I know). More coming later, maybe, this seems like DM on a massive scale though. It's weird Fizz, no matter what you take on, you always make it sound awesome...freaky skill you got there bro.

When I first saw the idea I was like, :/ Then I realized that it would allow the Gangster Rpers to have a place to take out all their anger. It will perhaps move some of the desire to gunfight out of passive Rp servers. Also, I'd enjoy taking out rage on people from time to time. :D

Uhm, will gangs be able to kill players not in a gang? That could be easily abused with newer players getting killed off by people with the best guns.

I'm going to think of a different spawning system.
Just consider that it's no fun to get killed on a game because you have only just started :v: Why not have it so they can start off killing npc's and then once they have got good enough pvp is toggled?
Nope, PVP is always on. Don't play if you don't like it. However, to make gun battles extra epic, guns won't do *too* much damage, so they'll last a 'lil longer. Also, killing random civilians = money drop like GTA :) Gangs will, of course, be able to ally (they can still hurt each other, which sets them to neutral, and if a neutral attacks another, they go "to war"). You can kill your own gang members too of course.
I like this idea. All the gangs should have special things that other gangs don't, so it's not "Which gang has the coolest name?" Gangs there should be: The IRA, The classic mob, The Taliban, And the police. I'm just trying to get some interesting gangs, not to be realistic. And like GreyIOutcast said, you can take over any territory, as long as it isn't a locked territory like the main of a gang.
Any estimate of a release date?
A grand total of 0.00001% is done, so basically nothing. Tomorrow I'm going to actually start coding properly, I've been tied up with moving 3 servers and converting gamemodes to MySQL these last few days. Should have an awesome faction system done tomorrow :)
Sounds good. Although are you really going to make this "roleplay", where the players still need to fill in parts with their imagination (and which is very vulnerable to abuse) or make it more of a game with set rules (in which case you should drop the "RP")?

If there ARE going to be custom gangs, then when a gang is "destroyed" (all of their territory is taken) ALL of the people who were in that gang (or just the leader) cannot make another gang for awhile, so there aren't thousands of gangs with only two people in them. [b]EDIT:[/b] And gangs should have a player limit, so there isn't one gang with a hundred people.

Gangs are permanent, so if you have no territory your gang still exsists. I'm thinking of other ways to stop too many gangs forming however. Also, more than 0.00000001%, probably 5% or something, custom faction system is done, it was a big chunk of it, a lot of the customization options for leaders aren't done yet but that's not important right now.
Can you have a RPG and blow up some posing fools house? Maybe something like, after five gangs are made the entire server can't make anymore without paying soso fees and playing bla bla long?
It would be more organized and simplify things if there were just 5 permanent gangs. Then the players could have gang pride and all that shit.
