i have the alyx nude model downloading and nothing else on the list *compleete or in progress* and the seeds says 8(22) and it is going at 0kb/s - 2.0kb/s
Fix your ports, or try another client.
ports? client?
Are you using Bittorrent? If so, try Utorrent.

Whats the difference?
Difference being is that Utorrent is a more lightweight version. Bittorrent has a fair bit of junk in it. Just because the UI looks similar doesn't mean the background stuff is.
What specs would you need for a seedbox, and how much would it approx. cost?

Meh. I use uTorrent, so then can you answer me what the difference is?
Bittorrent IS uTorrent.
uTorrent was aquired by bittorrent inc a while ago, all they have done is re-brand it.

Nah.
What specs would you need for a seedbox, and how much would it approx. cost?
Mainly something with large size, and a good upload speed. Costs vary.

You shouldn't really need to spend a lot on the box itself, a fairly old, but decent processor, a small amount of RAM, and some large drives are all that's needed really. And then use Linux as your OS, to save buying a license to Windows for no reason. The only hard part is getting a good connection in some areas.
Mine can go up to 2MB/s :3:
if you guys want to start a connection fight, my upload is 11m/s.
does it really matter? no. the more people, regardless of your bandwidth, help. the site's server(s) themselves are only like 150k or so, on avg, so even someone on dial up can add quite a bit to that.
also, i will seed the things i download. there isnt a reason not to.
I'll be seeding all I download (Even if I only get 75 KBps upload I still love to help

Oh how I love seeding. Does anyone else have any other torrents they want to have super high fast speed with?
What specs would you need for a seedbox, and how much would it approx. cost?
not a huge amount, core2duo would be perfectly fine, atleast 2 gigs of RAM, and a bunch of huge drives. since you will be downloading to just one, as torrent applications cant handle more than one download spot at once, your main download drive should be a secondary drive from the operating system drive, and be atleast 750gb, so you wont run out of space for a long time. WD caviar black is a good choice, newegg has fantastic pricing for WD caviar blacks, which perform at about the same speed as a velociraptor and dominate the raptors. for RAM i would suggest corsair, fantastic performance for a good price. since it will just be a seed server, monitor, keybord, mouse, gfx processing, and sound card dont matter much. course you might want to have them, maybe, but dont buy anything fantastic. core2duo @ 2.4ghz, 2gigs of corsair XMS2 RAM, caviar black 750gb drives (2, in raid, for better performance) and a simple drive for the operating system, would be....
somewhere near $600. very cheap. and if your bandwidth is good, then you could be a very powerfull seeder with a seedbox like that. course these arent shit parts, these are good quality parts so you can run the thing for weeks without it dying, or something similarly as bad. you dont NEED these parts to seed, but this is quality, so you could be seeding with the same seedbox even a decade in the future. id recommend you dont buy a cheapie, chances are it would break within a year.

you know the answer to that ;) all of them. specifically, the most popular ones would be good choices to start.

Is slightly OTT. You can just use a standard pent4. What matters here is how much you can put out. The server specs ie ram and processer don't really matter too much here. As long as the connection is strong and you have a large HDD, can't go wrong.
And I would do them all, but I don't plan on hosting god knows how many files that are outdated. A severe pruning is needed of Gmod.org. Infact, a redesign could certainly be used. It was good for while it lasted, but now it needs a new look.
Also, TorrentFlux is a great phpbased seeding program. Takes up next to no memory, and you can use it to search sites to automatically add and download torrents.

Sharing is Caring :D

er, even thought that you are correct, i hate to let people get P4's. they cant keep up with the modern world anymore. might as well get a processor that can atleast keep up. ever notice why you get lagg sometimes on most source servers? one big problem is that the P4 is single core, and therefore, gets killed during heavier loads.
quality > money.
I may be able to seed some torrents will have to trial I got this for seeding, Ill seed for a bit with my spare bandwidth if you give me some stuff to seed.
Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz
4GB Ram
1TB HDD
3TB Monthly Bandwidth

I use utorrent and it's got speeds of 3kbs how do I fix?
Also my site hoster has given me unlimited bandwidth and unlimited disk space, some tell me
how to seedbox it onto there and everything that's popular will be seeded about 10
times

Why would I be hosting source servers on a seedbox, ie a webserver?

Who is your site hoster, because those that often allow unlimited are actually very strongly against this sort of thing, if you read their ToC.
Also, for a mini speed guide, see: http://www.facepunch.com/showpost.php?p=17091335&postcount=927
Has anyone made a list of torrents I just installed utorrent with remote webgui?
No, but every single torrent is on the gmod.org site.
http://fsckvps.com/hosting/ For $10 a month you can get 30GB disk space and 400GB transfer. Somone should get this.
-snip-
I can't wait to get uTorrent reinstalled, I can get some new maps (at LUDICROUS SPEEDS!!!), and I can seed again (it's good karma)
