I didn't even know you COULD torrent on linux :O
Most of the servers are based on Linux. Also who the hell wants an ISP who gives out 450kb/s down 250 up and cap ya after 10GB.
Any well recommended cheap hosting packages i could use to set this up?
http://fsckvps.com/ Buy one and I'll personally set it up for you.
Justhost.com are epic
That's web hosting.
http://fsckvps.com/ Buy one and I'll personally set it up for you.
Have you used them before? Looking at the 9.95 package it seems they cram you in wherever they can :P
Have you used them before? Looking at the 9.95 package it seems they cram you in wherever they can :P
I personally use Linode, but these guys are cheap and were recommended by a friend.
http://fsckvps.com/network Currently only pulling 250-300k from them and the Atlanta download doesn't even work. I think i may pass.
Well let me have a look around again.
Webserver hosting works fine. Though they may not enjoy you seeding from it.
Tell me how you would set up a torrent client on it
Tell me how you would set up a torrent client on it
In theory it's possible with either CGI or PHP. Dunno how though.
Well let me have a look around again.
Cheers :) Also to the above, not doable with pure PHP.
Tell me how you would set up a torrent client on it
Copy php files to correct locations, upload SQL table via phpmyadmin. I did it.
http://www.torrentflux.com/ Says it can do it, but can it actually do it? [editline]10:07PM[/editline] Actually i can test it locally...
Yes, it does, seeing as I'm using it.

No hard feelings though. I was surprised when someone managed to host a WLM bot on it. [editline]12:16AM[/editline] I'd do it if I had the bandwidth to spare.
GME has a shitton of bandwidth, let me look into it.
I have a fuckton of bandwidth on my VPS, I might set up a system whereby after downloading, it'll auto-seed for 3 hours and then delete the data, to stop people going OTT on the files. Might happen, might not.
GME has a shitton of bandwidth, let me look into it.
Installed torrentflux, got nothing.
Installed torrentflux, got nothing.
Any news on VPS?
Install it, modify the cfg, upload the tables, and you're sorted.
Install it, modify the cfg, upload the tables, and you're sorted.
I did that. And since you're the genius Fix it. [editline]08:13PM[/editline]

I'm not seeding shit. I mean, I don't have to.
