I have a request. In the kiosk thing that pops up and tells you the information, can you add a check mark for noclip enabled as well as a check mark to see if Phoenix and Wire is loaded? Also in a fretta one, a box that tells you what game is currently being played would be awfully helpful. And one last thing, can you make a sign above the portal (so you don't have to go to the kiosk) that appears when it is full? These are the helpful things that the server browser does not tell you!
When the server browser doesn't tell you stuff it's because the server browser doesn't know stuff. As it stands, there is no way to check if a server has certain addons from outside - unless addon developers conform to some sort of sv_tags standard. And it doesn't require much cognitive activity to be able to tell if a server is full - when it says 10/10 or 52/52, it's quite obvious.

The steam browser is so slow and sometimes won't even show you server information. For Master Server I used the JSON module which seems to retrieve server data faster.

What I meant is, the server browser doesn't show you stuff like what addons a server has (except sv_tags, and when server owners put [PHX][WIRE SVN]{DURGMOD}__+)"£! as their server name).
JSON decodes JSON formatted data into tables, but where are you getting the data from in the first place?

A PHP site set up to gather information from garry's mod servers.

Does your php site query servers directly, or via the steam interface?

It wasn't my server. There was another team making a gamemode like this, and they gave up so they gave me all their code and showed me how JSON worked. I could ask them how they set it up.

I know that, I mean when the server owners say "Hey I wan't to put my server on the Master Server" some of the questions you should ask them would be things like "Is there noclip allowed?" etc. I know that the full server thing is obvious when you look at it but I mean something that is on top of the portal that says "FULL" when full. It would save so much time, going from kiosk to kiosk trying to find an un-full one.

I understand what you mean, yes it would be helpful to have a nice big "Full" sign above kiosks. But for the noclip thing, you're gonna get server owners who say "only allowed for admins, or respected users who donated, or people who played >2 hours, but not people who have been banned before, etc" and suddenly it becomes a whole lot more complicated.
I think instead of flooding each kiosk with information, they should be kept nice and simple and show server name, perhaps clan/owner name, player count, gamemode, the Full sign if it's full, and the map. Perhaps show the contents of sv_tags. But no more than that is really needed.
I think adding short description about each server would be nice, so you atleast get a review about what the game is and what it is about maybe? Most of the time when your joining a server spend like 30 mins downloading content and find the game isn't what you want so this would help improve that, also maybe and player rating a comments on the server would be nice too? As well as a master server it could be a good way to compare server to others to find the most enjoyable server that fits your needs.
It's like using last.FM or some other music discovery service versus looking through a gigantic list of every song on iTunes by genre and listening to the sample for each one. So, yes, I support the idea.
I've decided to change the kiosk from lua coded into an html based visual. Not quite sure how I'll get a similar look, but it will probably turn out better. Anyone want to help me?
Have you checked the date on that post? Since the thread died it's undergone some major reworking. I won't be using HTML for kiosks; I don't know what the hell I was thinking when I said that. I will be using HTML for a few game elements, but due to their numbers and rendering styles, kiosks won't be one of them.
