I finally thought this thread was gone, but no somebody had to bump this again :sigh:. THIS GAMEMODE IS DEAD PEOPLE!
Let us follow in the footsteps of the title, Community Created Roleplay Mod. Let the community create it then! It doesn't have to die, we just need to get our hands on a willing modder.
I'm sure if you ask Conna, He'll continue it.
Let us follow in the footsteps of the title, Community Created Roleplay Mod. Let the community create it then! It doesn't have to die, we just need to get our hands on a willing modder.
I don't think any good coder would like it to continu at Conna's work, the reason is because he was really an bitch sometimes. He isn't really respected anymore by the lua coders on this forum.
I'm going to continue work on this when I get my new computer, being on the downstairs family computer I can't test anything in Garry's Mod. So I'll start work on this again in 3-4 weeks.
Oh god it's him again. :uhoh:
ConnaCook is your blog dead?
Nope, it's very alive.
You're back
Conna you're back!
I'm here and I be ignorin' the haterz. P.S: Pow Pow Pow I'ma Choot Choo. P.P.S: Seriously though, I thought: "Why should I not release my scripts to the people who like them just because of a few haters". P.P.P.S: I'm pullin' a Garry.
You add P's not S's when you do post scripts because, post script script makes no sense. :downs:
Stop hating on Conna, he is a pretty leet Lua coder and he made some awesome mods, regardless if you think he was an asshole.
I hate server secure. It replaces the nice looking tip box things with these ugly things.
Although I find Conna's coding to be not as efficient as it could be, let's keep the flame war to a minimum...
I hate server secure. It replaces the nice looking tip box things with these ugly things.
Well considering ServerSecure is half a year old I think you should move on. Poor you, dwelling on past scripts.
Although I find Conna's coding to be not as efficient as it could be, let's keep the flame war to a minimum...
Yeah you're right, none of my scripts are efficient. I totally don't optimise at all and none of my mods work and nobody likes them. It's obviously a bad thing that SAT is a really optimised and simplistic kernel with an advanced plugin system and a ton of cool plugins. I'm not biting anyones head off, I'm just letting people know things have changed. But elevator is right, keep the flame wars to a minimum - I just run in the background. Wow, people must think that SAT is ServerSecure or something. LOL, ServerSecure - what a piece of shit.
You mean Citrus? LOL you need to inform peeps about Citrus.
I'll let people find out about it themselves, I don't want idiots using it and spamming me with help threads just cause they can't work out how to edit a .ini file. Besides, a smaller community is better and more loyal/reliable.
Well considering ServerSecure is half a year old I think you should move on. Poor you, dwelling on past scripts.
Funny how SAT makes the tooltips look ugly as well...
Funny how no it doesn't, you can totally just set the SAT theme to match it.
Funny how the default SAT theme is ugly, and 99% of the servers with SAT don't change it.
All that will change is the color dress, if a woman is fat making her wear black won't cover her big ASS. I had to say that.
I do agree with you, but as without plugins you don't really see the theme I guess you can say that all you have to do is be naked. (Lol Barri is stalking me).
I do agree with you, but as without plugins you don't really see the theme I guess you can say that all you have to do is be naked. (Lol Barri is stalking me).
Hey conna, errr, i don't know if this is posted already, But this error comes up, as soon i Press F1 to close help menu:
ERROR: GAMEMODE:'HUDPaint' Failed: CCRPM/gamemode/cl_init.lua:149: attempt to call method 'GetCursorAimVector' (a nil value)
Any way to fix this?
I do agree with you, but as without plugins you don't really see the theme I guess you can say that all you have to do is be naked. (Lol Barri is stalking me).
I personally like the naked (no hud until actually needed) idea more then anything else.
wow awesome! this is waaay better than darkrp
Are you going to have Bugs with the Radios? Like on Melonbrew the "bug" was a walky talky that was set to a certain frequency and you could hide it in a room and hear people talk. I myself was a furniture salesmen/mass killer so i would put a bug to the underside of a couch or chair and i could hear them in their house! Some other ideas if you want any... Chemistry? Just like your cooking thing where the things would touch and make things but instead it would be like two chemicals to make something like a homemade nuclear weapon for you terrorists out their! A mail delivery system? Like when you buy stuff from a store you don't have to drag welded items from one end of the map to the other where you house is. Instead you put it in a mail box and it appears at your house! Drug Labs? For those criminals out their, get certain ingredients make them touch the lab and they make a certain drug! Drug lab comes completed with a recipe list! That's about it... if i think of anymore ill post! You are going to allow the tools right? (weld, easy weld)
Well CCRPM is old, I stopped working on this ages ago. But when I finish Citrus I'll start working on Rolus (Roleplay Gamemode) shortly after. It will be extremely similiar to this but it will feature some of the things you said in your post. For now, visit http://connacook.com/forums/ for more information and updates.
I personally like the naked (no hud until actually needed) idea more then anything else.
HUD shows information, usually information that is needed. The only HUD that you see with SAT/Citrus is when you are a) viewing a menu or b) have the Player Information Bar plugin installed. Apart from that SAT/Citrus is 'naked'. Termy58, your opinions on SAT/Citrus are strong - please do me the favor of at least reading this post: http://connacook.com/forums/showthread.php?t=575.

ASS has one purpose - to be a Server Administration modification; Citrus can be anything the plugin wants it to be, or the server owner for that matter.
This is the first time I'm hearing about Citrus but I doubt that. A bit off topic but
The Citrus plugin system also is capable of being used to make 'games' for Citrus, such as the Hide and Seek game which changes the Sandbox gamemode into a Hide and Seek game temporarily.
I don't think that'll kick off like your hoping it too, Hide and Seek alone will not go well on Sandbox maps, and theirs plenty of Sandbox DM servers already. But even if I could make a plugin for ASS that could do around the same thing with not that much effort. (It's just allowing people to hook and un-hook functions basically but in ASSGAME:PlayerDeath() or CitrusGame:PlayerDeath() )
Who says you have to play it on Sandbox maps.
