Is it just me, or is The Pit down? I can't connect to it.

Long story short, i broke ACF, and i gave fragnet an outdated link so now i opened another ticket for them to switch it back to the github SVN. Sorry - yell at me if you'd like.

I can. I supplied them with the wrong link in the first place.
Crap i have exams on 1 and 2, so if you will not find me online - so go ahead without me. MAKE VID AT LEAST D:
I'll try to make some nice recordings of a few participants.
Well, if people want to start reserving time slots for the US server, we'll be taking trials any time between 6:00 and 12:00 PM CST today, tomorrow, and the next day. I figure with the setup and everything, 15 or so minutes per contestant should be about right. You'll go round the course once to score a time, then profile, front, and back shots of the bus will be taken for later review. the course will be up on The Pit from now till midnight.
Just reply in this thread with the day and 15-minute timeslot you'd like.
Well, I'd like to reserve a spot from 11:00 CST to 11:15 CST on Saturday Feb 2nd. (That's 9:00 am where I am btw, so I won't be able to do it much earlier, and I'm not available Friday)
Also, are things like weight going to be taken into account? I.E a realistic weight will get more points towards look than a super light bus?
Because I could easily make my bus about 1000 kg without sacrificing stability or looks. It would give me a significant performance boost (More points in the time trial and performance, but no loss on the visual category)

I'm still not sure what to do about contestants in Europe, as the EU server doesn't have ACF yet.

Boss.
Count me in, I'll start making a bus as soon as I get onto GMod.
Soooo. are the bus races over then? Because, no one ever showed up for my timeslot.
For what it's worth. I timed myself and got 1min and 22 seconds around the gm_drivingmap track.
And here are some profile shots of my bus. I'll post fancy, artsy ones on the wip thread here -> http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1160473&p=39457546#post39457546
My Bus weighs approx 10 000 kg. It has a 4.L V12 Diesel with 213HP, and 400 N/M torque. It takes about 20 seconds to reach it's top speed of 40 MPH. Here are some pictures.
The doors open with the characteristic hiss of air pressure. There are running lights, headlights, brake lights, reversing lights, and turn signals (Note: The glare on the lights is the part that is controlled. It's not post process bloom you see, although it is contributing). All controllable. Running lights turn on with seat activation, headlights with engine, reverse when you back up, brake when you stop. The turn signals can be operated by chat commands or by the mouse. The doors open through chat commands.
The dot matrix sign is also customizable through chat commands. And can display up to 8 characters at a time. (Due to 300 object limit on egp). Dot matrix display can scroll, but is disabled because of the silly way egp works. (Updating the anything on the screen forces a full screen update which when you are using near 300 objects tends to lag)

I sincerely apologize for not being available when you requested. Not to make excuses, but real life took me away from the computer at the time. The race event has one more day for anyone who has not set a time (that's everyone besides Jelknab). Again, I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

It's ok. We all have things we have to do.
I'm assuming the time slot is still between 6pm and 12pm cst.
I should be available after 9:00pm CST to do my race. Just message me on steam when you are able to adjudicate the race.
I wish to enter!!!!

Alright!
Alright, good news now that ACF works with Linux. The EU server is back up and running, so anyone that wants to race there just let me know.

Can't find EU in server list. :[] Also race is over? Who won?
46.165.232.212:27030 is the IP of the EU server.
As far as the race, we have times for 6 contestants. The rest of the judging will take place over the course of this week.
Here is a video of the race:

so... do we have a winner or something for this here competition?
i wanna get rid of 50 bucks.
Unfortunately one of the judges has not been available so we've yet to decide on a victor. Sorry it's taking so long, but once he's online and has free time we'll be able to announce the placement.
[editline]10th February 2013[/editline]
The winners have been chosen, and the results are in the OP. Thank you to all who entered; we've clearly got some amazing talent in the community.
Ehhhhh. I should have finished my bus. Unfortunately real world things and Age of Wushu swallowed up my time. I think I'll still finish it sometime, as it was surprisingly fun to work on.
As much as i agree with 1st place, Frankess' bus is my favorite =D
Hey Mr. White, can you post a list of screens of all the buses that entered?
I wish I coulda joined. Large combination of other projects and irl events said no :/
