i run the game fine...
intel i5 3470 3.6
gtx 550 ti
8 gb ram
not sure why your machine wouldn't run it
It isn't if GMod runs or not, it's how well it runs. When I'm dealing with a lot of props, I'm getting a 50 or so FPS loss. Having more than 750 props, I'd still get above 60 FPS before GM13 rolled out. Now I'm getting 9, as an example.

even with thousands of props on a 550 ti fpb i get consistent 60-200 fps on max settings
I'd like to see that.
I can see the multicore field in Options just fine, and have it enabled. Does it now show up for you all, or is it just a useless switch?
It's a useless switch.
It's a useless switch.
It works for me just fine, although I still get low FPS.
I get 2-1 FPS in a Theater server 10 any other server.
I used to get 30-20 FPS before Gmod 13
The switch says its on, but its not. That's why he said it was useless.
pretty sad how the request thread in the developmental section got locked because garry doesnt want to hear us whine.
there's a pairs() loop, about 2 times slower than for i = x, blah .
Is there proof behind this, and why is it 2 times faster? Just curious.

On an old 450 here going from around 140fps to 30 :/
Half these graphics cards you own don't even support multi-core, I think we're on another problem, not with multi-core options disabled.
That's not the point - garry turned it off. The switch is useless. If the card supports it or not, that's up to the bloke who bought it.
i mean i run source games good enough but i have a quad-core so gmod acts like how it would on a pc from 2005
please garry re-enable it i beg of you

We're talking about cpu multi core rendering. When i stress test my gmod all the way, a percentage of 25% gets used by my cpu. which is 1 / 4 cores.
I did some tests.
On this map filled of water ground grass lighting blood bloom ect ect. pretty big map. I had about 30-50 props down.
Maxed Out @ 1080p
Avg frame rate 56.8
Lowest settings @1080p
Avg frame rate 64.5
The diffrence in graphics is HUGE.
The diffrence in fps is very low.
