can you explain what the gmsv things are on the mods page?
Modules?
can you explain what the gmsv things are on the mods page?
[t]http://anyup.me/v/50nq[/t] These are modules used for various gamemodes and scripts. Unless your gamemode/script specifically calls for them, you don't have to worry about them.
You're a very good man for doing this. kudos
Thank ye!
Just got my server, had a problem with the IP but got solved quickly. Thanks for this amazing deal!

I have a question, I got the free webhosting from you and as you can see it's quite active - www.xenoyia.net Would it be possible to also get a GMod server to help kickstart my community? I don't really want to ask for a lot but I've been making as everything active as I can, as well as promoting your host wherever possible. (I will make a small banner to your host on my webpage when I can)
I must inquire, dark, how can you afford all this?
It comes out of bananas paycheck. Not really.
liar :tinfoil:
It comes out of mine. :v:
In reality, Darksoul and I kidnap people and sell their bodies/organs to various people. One day we decided, hey, we got all this money, what do we do? He started a server company. I bought several million tubs of play-doh. Worth it.
Europe won't be free. Sorry :/
Let's go ahead and change this. 850 posts required for Europe - same rules apply. :)
I must inquire, dark, how can you afford all this?
Even though darksoul69 already said something (which didn't explain anything) one could assume he pays for it from the increased cost on paying clients vs going with someone like GameServers.com.

I prefer not to discuss finances/etc regarding the free offer because it takes away part of the magic. Elpis is not a large business like gameservers.com, meaning that I can't compete with them in price (and thus I don't even attempt to). I personally feel that my prices are fair considering the quality of service and support, but yes they are more expensive then most of the more well known hosts.
I find Elpis' prices more than fair. Gameservers and stuff will always have lower prices, but nowhere near the quality. Gameservers is like a McDonalds. No face, no appearance, just shitty food for low prices. Elpis is like a Buffalo Wild Wings. The prices are a bit higher, but the food is beyond comparison to shit like McDonalds. The only difference is that in this case, Buffalo Wild Wings gives you their food for free in many cases, and McDonalds calls you a faggot and pisses on your burger.
Elpis's quality is amazing, I'd rather pay $5/mo more (if that) to know the support team can actually accomplish something when I need them to. [editline]12th January 2013[/editline] knowing my box won't be overloaded is nice too

But calling every other host "a faggot and pisses[ing] on your burger" because they won't give you a server for free is a little silly no? When I was with EOReality.net I was quite satisfied with the service I got, and it was a BF3 server which are resource hogs according to EA themselves. Obviously I can't rate ElpisHost on the terms of is it worth it or not, because I've never used it.
I used GameServers.com as an example because the only other one I could think of is Xenon Servers, and everyone starts bashing them on FP if you say Xenon Servers..
Right but I mean you're trying to compare my service to gameservers.com who charges $7 for a 10 slot server. I can't exactly offer that kind of price considering that I rent servers and keep them extremely underloaded for performance reasons.
Right but I mean you're trying to compare my service to gameservers.com who charges $7 for a 10 slot server.
Not in all cases, but since you guys don't like GameServers (or Xenon), should I try EOReality.net instead for this convo?
Not in all cases, but since you guys don't like GameServers (or Xenon), should I try EOReality.net instead for this convo?
Actually I'd prefer if you just left my thread entirely since you're another host and it's a little weird that you're even in here trying to start a discussion on my pricing. But that's just my opinion.

I'm still a client of some GSPs, and I still buy gameservers.
