Eek
So I'm really unclear at this point as to whether Hostname was supposed to be my intended username or the name of the server but either way, none of the emails to recover the control panel login info are going through, and in fact any emails at all I'm only able to view on Hostbill's archive
I opened a support ticket about it but I hope I can get this resolved.

This happened for me and everybody I refered to elpis, the email with the info never gets sent just wait until he sees the ticket.
I'm assisting him now, it sounds like the e-mail server is being stupid.

TC-Admin is yet again playing games when sending emails. Works fine if manually sent, but not through automation.

I did try a manual send though :(
In any case, thanks for helping me out
So I temporarily shut down the server to install some crap and I must say, this interface is amazing
Payment Verification
Clients agree to submit to identity verification measures, designed for both the security of the client as well as the security of Elpis Host. The identity verification measures may include the faxing of two forms of government issued identification to Elpis Host, as well as a front and back copy of the credit card used for payment, as well as a copy of a utility bill with the billing address. In certain circumstances additional identity verification may be required, in addition to the previously listed forms.
Would I have to do this if I buy a server?

Only if you get marked as fraud. It's mainly for dedicated server clients.
After loads of 'node crashes', and 9/10 times unable to connect to the CP/FTP and support telling me 'everything is OK on our end', I've decided to leave Elpis.
Got a VPS now, and works like a charm!
Really disappointed, and would not recommend.

Is it a possibility that maybe, just maybe, everything was OK on their end, and it was just you doing something wrong?

No, I know what I'm doing.
And if I can't connect to the CP/FTP becuase the connection refuses, the fault is not mines.
And also, they told me the node crashes.

Remote monitor crashing != node crashing.
I'm sorry that you have had issues with us, we're trying to get the stability on the Germany node up to par with the rest of our servers but due to the massive distance between the Master node and the remote node sometimes it does lose connection. The game server itself should never go down if the monitor crashes - you just won't be able to use the control panel for any services on that node.
Remote monitor crashing != node crashing.
Your support team told me that.
And if the Remote Monitor crashes, it crashes like 10 times a day?
Your support team told me that.

It loses connection due to the distance between the master and remote. We've rarely had a complete crash that requires an actual restart of the monitor service, but yes if it does time out it could be down for five to ten minutes each time.
If I'm not able to find a solution then I will likely be making the Germany node a second master server within the next week which should resolve the problem.
Again I apologize for the inconvenience and wish you the best with your new provider.

I don't recall every telling anyone that a node crashed.

Don't give a damn anymore, got a stable and good VPS now.
I don't get why you would offer a service that is known to crash often.
My friend has been trying to contact you guys for help with the server that I had you set up for him, and he sent a message 2-3 days ago and still hasn't gotten a reply. Pretty sure he tried through the support on the site (which he did first, no reply (but he also says he might have screwed up with the email that he tried to send?)) and the email you provided in the OP (tried second after support, no reply either). Is there any specific reason for this or have you guys just not seen the mail/blatantly ignoring him? ( :P )
Sorry if I'm come off as being pushy or whatever, but after registering am I supposed to pm you?

No - I completely understand and I'm not asking you to stay. It's your prerogative if you decide to leave over it.
Just keep in mind that the game server itself is not affected if the monitor service times out. I can only do so much with a panel that is in beta. We were not aware of the connection issue until two weeks ago as Germany is a new location and we do not have a large clientbase there and we've been trying to work out a solution with the developer since. Unfortunately there are only two options to fix this problem and we will be implementing one of them within a few days - if that fails then the remote will be converted into a second master server (second panel) for Europe.

Yes. :)
Thank you, this is so great. I am 100% satisfied! Took me around 10 minutes to get the server set up, and it's already full. I love you.

Open a ticket so we can help you.
The panel may be down for 10-30 minutes as we work on resolving the issues with Germany. I'll toss up a notice on the panel before starting the work.
Everything should be back up and running now - hopefully it resolves the issue.
Is there any way I can monitor my server from my phone?
