MOST stupid reason you got banned from a GMod server? - Garry's Mod

You'd be surprised how low those lua nukes can keep dealing damage, if the 50 players kept respawning, it could make it to 1800. The fallout from those things is incredible.

I remember when SNIP3 Build RP had nukes on it. Oh the fun of spawning nukes in through the adv_duplicator menu and then threatening the entire server with nuclear war.

I spawned a lamp that displayed my spray. Admin accused me of hacking the server and banned me.

i went in a server that had like 3 rdmers and then i just said "admin ban these assholes!" then I GOT BANNED FOR "I FREAKING HATE YOU!"

Banned from Serious PERP for waiting at red traffic lights.

Woooh, boy, i gotta lot of these Not a ban, but a demote on RP. The mayor decalred lockdown and broadcated that you will be arrested on site if you arent inside. SO i arrested someone who is standing around doing something and he said "Random Arrest"! then came the little message saying "[hisname]: I want to demote you Reason: Random Arrest." some idiots rated me demote. Since this server did not deserve to live what with the idiots around i proceeded to cause chaos via propkills and exploits. then decided to GTFO. Before you hate on me for griefing the server it was very shit. There were RDMers often and nobody ever followed the rules. The server mysteriously crashed just before i left...

The dumbest ban was after I proved that the admin was wrong, and I managed to do it in front of all his friends, and he banned me after he started crying.

The stupidest Reason I was banned was an "admin test." I would go onto the server and annoy the admins and saw what they did. One of the servers super-administrators was online so I annoyed him. Local OOC chat (this was an RP sever) I told him he was a gay admin for something or other. I forgot what I said but anyway, about five seconds later I'd been permed'. Being a server's owner is usefull for unbanning yourself via console. I unbanned myself and annoyed him again. Another ban. I then did an admin broadcast say, "Did you really just ban me?" I then unbanned myself and demoted him to "Trusted" best ban I have ever had...

While being an annoying shithead was uncalled for, it sounds to me that the guy got banned for "admin disrespect" which is a fucking stupid rule. It's even more stupid if the admin permas you for it.

1) LOOC. 2) I am serious. 3) I tell the (Super)Admins not just to ban on sight. While I do take admin/player disrespect seriously, I do belive it is worth a Kick or a warning. Not a ban. 4) It keeps the admins on their toes, not just minges but if you don't follow the guidelines set for you may become a lower rank.

Make a gated entrance which has a sign describing the zone to be a peaceful area. Get banned by the admins for 'Street Block' Gotta love ByB

Told an admin he was admin abusing, because he stole money printers (on an RP server) by no clipping through walls and doors, god mode, infinte ammo all that shit. And when people complained, he just banned them, including me. [sp]Fucking ByB servers man.[/sp]

But don't lie, yea we have abusive admins, probably more than any other community. However it's not possible to steal printers via noclip, how would they escape the base? Admins can't use god mode. No admins have infinite ammo, or can spawn weapons not even superadmins. Plenty of legit reasons to post silly ban reasons from ByB here, don't make them up ;)

Only three of them still serve in the administration team, four suvived player-demotes and were made "trusted", one was banned, the rest (I cannot remember how many in total) were demoted back to player/user or to Regular (playtime regular).

I got banned for killing somebody through the window. "stop wall hax u fag" Also I once entered a ByB server (the so called zombie RP, the athmosphere wasn't even close to apocalyptic). I needed 3 minutes to regret joining there. Never gonna make that mistake again.

It is possible to steal printers by noclipping into bases and using exploits with your printer boxes. I've seen it happen but your admins can do it so fast it's hard to record. They noclip into bases all the time to steal money from printers, I've screencapped admins stealing from my printers in noclip. After posting these, I got banned from your server for being an alt of this icar0s/nigerian/bob guy. Your admins are just ban happy kids who are out to get the playerbase and will actively stalk players waiting for an excuse to ban them.

It wouldn't be the hardest evidence of their abuse, but it could work. In the case that their wall-hack also shows them things like that, then you at least have a new security measure against them.

Unless you run server side lua to change the damn entity position, which obviously none of the admins can do. I never claim admins don't abuse, I only point out the people who make obvious lies. I know Nigerian and his cronies hate ByB, but like I've said before no need to make up lies. There are plenty of reasons to play ByB and plenty of reasons not to, same with every server online. If you don't like a specific server then don't play there or tell people what happend and spread the word that's also fine. Making up lies & or ddosing servers is just childish.

Also, how does your prop protection apply to admins? There's more than one way they could get it through walls, depending on the limits their toolguns have.

But catching someone changing the collision to all your props, moving printers through them, changing collision back. Is a damn site simpler than catching them eating printers in noclip. And yea they could, but we can't protect against everything in the code.

Seems like you're a very dedicated server owner.

They don't grab the printer itself, it's impossible to get it out, they either: A: Like I said in my post, spawn a printer box in the safe and physics glitch it out. B: Abuse admin and nocollide for split seconds. Full on printer theft is highly uncommon suprisingly, most admins simply noclip into a position where they have LOS on the printer, toggle noclip and empty the low level printers to make it look like nothing ever happened.

I used to just leave a demo running whenever I played (not that hard to type "record <server/time>. If I came across an abusing admin then I'd just shoot it off to the helpdesk, the drive tool and the fact you can slow everything down makes them ideal for catching admin abuse. I must have got at 30-40 warnings given out just from making some easy reports. In reply to deaded38, when solid proof is presented then something will always be done about it. Unfortunately we can't always take everyone's word on things, as people lie.
