MOST stupid reason you got banned from a GMod server?

So I thought I'd try ByB.
Play on there a bit, got RDM'd, RDM him back, get banned, he's still playing.
I used to just leave a demo running whenever I played (not that hard to type "record <server/time>. If I came across an abusing admin then I'd just shoot it off to the helpdesk, the drive tool and the fact you can slow everything down makes them ideal for catching admin abuse. I must have got at 30-40 warnings given out just from making some easy reports.
In reply to deaded38, when solid proof is presented then something will always be done about it. Unfortunately we can't always take everyone's word on things, as people lie.
So players should have a demo running 24/7 whenever they join ByB? If a player has to record a demo 24/7 just to play on the server with the slightest hope of getting an admin banned for day, the system is ass backwards and broken.
Considering around 30% of admin abuse and unban requests are about random or unjustified bans, wouldn't it make more sense to require the ADMINS to provide proof of why they were banned? It worked for minecraft's mcbans, it could work anywhere.
The issue is, I want to just play some RP, not have to be worried 24/7 about getting admin abused or recording hoping to catch it. ByB is a server where you can't RP because you're too worried about the admin who wants your money printer and is trying to ban you for the tiniest offense.

Or, you should just stop whining and try to do something bout it within the rules. Running a demo, and hey something happens, you stop it. Then you take it and write down na da this happen and the demo name. Then when you get done, you go to the help desk, state hey, i think x person nocliped thru my base, heres his id. Its round x time of the demo. A demo is a very valid form of evidence.
Got banned because my gmod crashed and the admin thought I was vehicle blocking.

Funny you mention this. You've been banned for admin abuse which was proved in one of this nigerian's videos. But as it's also been proven by these videos, making tickets doesn't work and admin abusers like you (I've seen you abuse on servers and in almost every ByB trolling video there is) wind up getting unbanned with lax punishment.
The effort it takes to catch an admin abuser is just too much to justify the one day ban they would probably receive. Making admins take evidence pictures/videos of the offence makes them think about bans.
Instead of going:
"LOLOLOLOLOLOL prop block banbanbanbanbanban XDXDXDXDXD"
They might notice things they previously overlooked while taking evidence shots such as the button they thought was missing. I know taking proof for MCBans made me realize when I was making a mistake and being too ban happy.
It also allows players who think they are randomly banned to be shown why they are banned and learn their lesson for when they come back, they will know what they did wrong and learn from their mistake, not be enraged because they have no idea why they were banned. It just makes no sense for a player to photograph every single base they have made to prove it wasn't propblocked/too big etc. it's impractical and takes up valuable hard drive space.
How about instead of bitching about players who don't like your server and how you administrate it, taking some responsibility for your inability to admin and try to change the things that go wrong.

I have to say that is quite wishful thinking.
Almost every admin at ByB does nothing but escape responsibility; the only reason people buy admin is so they cannot be abused by other admins. Pantho has done absolutely nothing to improve anything in a long time--there's a simple reason for that, he is only in it for the money.
I even joined their forums, made constructive criticism (i.e. that proppushing and what not weren't even mentioned in their MOTD) and they did nothing about it. Their usual argument is that it should be "common sense"--I was discussing this with a friend the other day and they pointed out "Would it be common sense to my parents?"
Just go through the ban log and look at all the permanent bans
"User was cought propspamming."
They trust permanent banning to someone who doesn't know rudimentary English. The mere fact that the stupidest of offences -- to them -- warrants a permanent ban rings all sorts of alarm bells. Although I agree with them permanent banning for things like DDoS I don't think any of them have a moral high ground to sit and judge players.
It's DarkRP, sometimes its serious, sometimes its a joke-- but really, banning a player beyond a month for things like self supply as a gun dealer or RDM just proves the ineptitude of the entire process.
People like Sky and Deon just go around perm banning player after player after player.
"Major abuse of GD, cursing in OOC repeatedly despite warning. Gtfo no unban."
Seriously? A perm ban for abusing a job class and "cursing"--this is coming from the admin who routinely swears at players. Without doubt, every single time I have played on a DarkRP server there has been at least one player abusing their job (all the way from hobo, therapist, doctor upto SWAT elite sergeant sniper). Does it really warrant a permanent ban?
As I said, Pantho is lazy, he will do absolutely nothing to improve the situation unless it involves pushing up the price of purchasing admin.
At one stage I was provided a figure as to the number of admins at ByB and it was very alarming to calculate that figure and learn what the financial amount could be--I've since been told that figure was inaccurate but it just makes me wonder how much of a profit they're actually pushing.
It's the same thing with a number of other communities, rather than take the bother to hear out criticism they take the easiest way of getting out of situations, by perm banning almost anyone who causes a remote problem (because with 7 billion people on this planet, everyone's playing style is going to suit you at all times).
Playing these kinds of games takes an investment of your time, it takes time to do things; in ARMA 2 RP I have spent 3-4 hours with my friends organizing things in the game (money, guns, vehicles) to have the server crash and everyone quit because its boring (you lose everything whenever the server resets). I go back and I spend another 3-4 hours doing the same thing again.
It's obvious to me that almost none of the admins at ByB are bothered to do that because they have a shiny button which will permanently ban players from a game which is predominantly populated with kids under the age of 15.
DarkRP is even persistent, all these admins have quite sizable amounts of RP money but as soon as they encounter a problem with a player their only resort is to perm ban.
(fun fact: I actually control more money than most admins have on ByB)
EDIT: oh look in the time I took to write this Sky permanently banned yet another player for "Randomly shooting cops as GD with a self supplied weapon multiple times then leaving."
(User was permabanned for this post ("Gimmick" - Craptasket))
Banned for launching a firetruck across the city. It was an accident.
Got banned off of a ByB server for "back chatting admin"
I was just explaining what happened?
I got banned from ByB for "Cardm"
I hit a group of four admins who were standing in the middle of the street around the corner, what did they expect?
why the hell is random killing refferred to as "deathmatching"
theres no match going on, and if there was, you shouldnt be banned because thats what deathmatch is about

It's called that because it means you're basically trying to play a deathmatch gamemode in RP/Sandbox/TTT/whatever, where the gamemode isn't supposed to be about just killing everyone else.

That annoys me as well, but trying to teach a new phrase to everyone would be a chore. So sticking with 'RDM' is easier.
My friend made his steam name Gmod Server Engineer and he would go hack servers and they would really think he worked for garry so then the admins would like worship him lol dont you just love to se
but my story is this guy on an rp came with one of those teleporting traps and put it on me and didnt let me out and i told him i would hack the server and crash it if he didnt so i did and he told the admins and i got perma and then it was lifted like a year later but buy then rp just wasnt how it used to be. ;(
I joined a build server, and was immediately banned for "Not being Russian :3333"

Personally i dont think the RDM rule should exist, i know its annoying, but its life. everyday there are serial killers everywhere and the point of RP is to be like real-life. So yeah. VALID REASON.

If you spent a significant amount of time acting things out in character (in other words, roleplaying it), then it's possibly a valid reason. If you just randomly decide to kill someone instantly and say, "oh I was a serial killer don't mind me lol", it's not valid.

And those serial killers are locked up in jail for the rest of their life ==> Permaban.
Why not have a capable police force?

Everyone should adopt the phrase Mass Deathmatch or MDM.

Or just call it unjustified killing or random killing.
Or just call it unjustified killing or random killing.
The problem I've always had with RDM(as a rule) is that it's usually judged from the victims side. This in most cases will always provide that an incident is random with no room for speculation.
Judging something as random will always lead a grey zone where people will debate or abuse powers.

It's almost always the victim that is right though as all gmod rp is a cesspool of 12 yearolds that can't play properly. That's why you have to show evidence that the killing was justified as self defense or a hit or anything similar. killings can also happen as accidents such as running someone over with a car when they jaywalk. most of these situations can be solved with a little talk in the ooc chat. If the admin/victim refues to listen to you and get you banned you should change server. Or just don't play the crappiest gamemode ever made for gmod.
Banned for being a freedom fighter. I was a freelance job. Well, I got the job "Freedom Fighter" since I fight for people's freedom for those who have been arrested unjustified. So I was gonna bail someone because of a random arrest (Money was a door to door thing) but the cop declined so I went to raid the PD and free the prisoners. And then I've been perma banned with the reason "Freedom Faggot". I was shocked because it was mostly Rp what I did.

Also... Your avatar is fucking adorable.
I think the problem is more that server owners seem to have forgotten what DarkRP is meant to be in the first place. It's not meant to be super serious, semi serious or any bit of serious at all. It's meant to be RP in the world of gmod. An alternate reality where the toolgun and physgun exist, and ordinary people can make cars out of bathtubs. The mayor can arrange proplympics, where the citizens prop surf around the town and the mafia sets up makeshift forts etc. to fight the police. DarkRP is a mingebag RP. it's not a real life RP where everyone is limited to doing certain things and the admins rule with an iron fist, it's intended to be FUN.
It's lost it's aim though as more "0MG SUP3R S3RI0U5" mods come out for darkrp that make it a simulation of a dysfunctional gangwar where no one actually fights and the admins ban everyone who tries.
I've found the hobo class is the best way to get in touch with this side of the RP, building imaginative hobo huts and causing havoc around the town.
Such antics have ended in me being banned multiple times from ByB.

I lol'd, because there are no good reasons to join ByB. Even the script is unoptimized and lags people to shit.
I was banned because one of my welds kirked out and killed somebody. Banned for prop killing. The guy who died, was trying to kill me with a crowbar to get credits so that he could buy a pistol and kill more people.
The irony.

That segment of code looks fine to me. It'd be tough to make it more efficient than that.
Being Irish
What the ass? Why ban me for that
