MOST stupid reason you got banned from a GMod server? - Garry's Mod

Banned for having an uncrackable E2 lock in a BuildRP server with unrestricted access to all wire tools. Apparently the server owner needs to educate the admins about the fact that the theif job is pretty much useless.

I got banned from a server while being a pet and giving the admin a prop with my gravity gun, the admin then prop pushed me to the sky and a sec later I was banned for the reason: "Prop Surfing" :P

I got banned for saying Pewdiepie like the real pewdiepie, i said it because there was a guy called "pewdiepie(german and not real)"

I made a race with an admin once. He kept trying to kill me with the machine guns he mounted on his car while I just used thrusters on mine to go faster. I won the race and got rewarded with a permaban. Reason "fuck off".

Someone was having a 1v1 crowbar fight in an arena. When it finished I played a celebration trumpet down the mic for about two seconds. The admin perma'd me. I got another one to unban me so I could ask the admin why he did it. He said that I ruined the fight. A crowbar fight. On a sandbox server. Another reason is the owner forgot to turn off PvP for an hour, so everyone was just slaughtering eachother. An admin wrote down the names of everyone who killed him, told the owner and perma'd all of us. This is why I host my own server because nowadays most admins are uptight assholes who don't understand the concept of fun.

Having personally had stupid dipshit paid admins on ByB kick me for 'disrespect' because I tried talking about the rules with them and then having tried filing tickets I can confidently say that ByB isn't a real community and is pretty much the McDonalds of 'communities'. It exists for one thing, to make money.

Banning for disrespect is now against the rules on ByB. Any admin who does it now runs the risk of losing their admin for doing so. Should you ever wish to return to ByB, the admins will just have to think up more creative reasons to ban you. Thank you for your feedback.

It's a fucking Jesus-laden miracle that Sky actually got demoted after 6 months of permbanning hundreds of players for tiny shit. Terrible terrible admins who would never abide by rules like that. If you suddenly retroactively outlawed stupid ban reasons then you might be able to redeem yourselves (on top of stop giving out admin for money), but I'd say pretty confidently that that will never, ever happen. And FWIW it doesn't matter if you just make some small rule change and think that will solve things, there are many dozens of players who are still banned permanently for admin disrespect and they will never be unbanned unless they go through some retarded ticket process and deal with admins like Deon--sorry ByB servers aren't that amazing. Well excuse me for trying to make a difference. I made that rule edit and forum announcement entirely based on your feedback, because I would quite like ByB not to be a byword for terrible admins and a shit playing experience. I obviously can't go around changing the entire admin system, banning long-term head superadmins and wiping the entire SourceBans database because it's not my community. However, I thought I could make it a bit less shit by eliminating one of the unreasonable things that so many people were complaining about. Apparently not.

The ByB admin system is completely corrupt and doesn't even think before they ban. It's just a humongous circlejerk company disguised as a gmod community. It's not a real community. It's the owners, some admins and some players who still think that ByB is really about the gameplay. Hell, you dont even follow your own rules. Your TaC for creating an account states that you plant a cookie that "ONLY used to keep you logged in/out". However it also appears to keep track of Banned users and trigger a new IP ban if a router's IP is reset...

If these admins indeed disobeyed the rules, I vote for their nicknames, steam ID's and repercussions to be posted here by Pantho, Lexic or some other ByB head admin. Pantho has said before that he wants the demo's. Give him the demo's so he can ban the fuckers.
