MOST stupid reason you got banned from a GMod server? - Garry's Mod

Back to the topic out of this all drama: Apparently server owners have found even more retarded way to gain money. They put adfocux/adfly/whatever in to the motd which pops up when player joins. So, I was on a server yesterday where they had motd like this, I told my opinion about it and 5 minutes later, this happened: [IMG]http://screensnapr.com/e/UG6lyw.png[/IMG] IMO A decent server/community owner would have taken it to consideration, talked about it and not going right ahead "lol uliek it or goe awai!!111" and ban.

I make things for ByB occasionally but I haven't done anything to stop prop killing since there are so many paid admins lying around doing nothing much that if someone prop kills it's usually seen and dealt with. We tend to discourage things with moving parts though, since they invariably lag the server with 30+ players.

Spent most of the night fucking around in a gang on a DarkRP server. I was Snoop Dogg and we'd run around killing cops, hiding in the sewers. The admin was spawning stuff for himself so we decided to ask if he'd give us guns. Despite me being one of the higher ranking Gz, he refused to give me a weapon. After killing me every time I returned, I called him childish. Got permabanned with the reason "dont call me childis" [editline]29th December 2012[/editline] He also kicked me when I saved a friend and refused to ban the 3 people that constantly propkilled, joining in with them and noclipping around while holding huge props.

Are you guys still talking about propkilling? I've been a high admin on the most popular server in GMod (until GMod Tower) which runs DarkRP. I've never once in the past year seen someone get propkilled, it has never been an issue. Solution: Stop prop damage, and make props collide with players when physgunned. Also Lexic, allowcslua stops most players from cheating- if it was enabled I would probably mess around myself running my own lua, while I wont go out of my way to allow it.

I don't see the problem with prop killing detection scripts [I][B]as long as[/B][/I] you have admins that dont ban people based solely on a message in chat.

It's best to just alert admins that a propkill just took place and let them spectate the players involved to make the decision.

That's why servers should always have addon/plugin to show, who was the killer and was the killer innocent or traitor. But that doesen't always help, if the admin is the "cousin" of an annoying DarkRP admin :v:

I got banned from my own servers because someone filled out a ban request but forgot to put the person's SteamID in (the template shows mine by default) :(
