Dem missing textures.
Snazzy truck. On the ACF rules I more or less agree, what I disagree with I posted in the thread.
I am a bit curious though. I built a small RC tank...it would fit on the back of that Ural without any issues...armed with twin 105s mounted rigidly to the sides of the chassis. It's unarmored and is designed as a more or less suicide vehicle, not intended to live long at all. The driver sits in a box somewhere safe and controls it through wire two-way radios and an RT camera. Would that be even remotely kosher in a sanctioned match or would that be something that runs around and gets plinked at while Benny Hill plays over PlayX for giggles between matches?

OH GOD. Just tried acf torching a smoke crate. Many lulz were had.
While reading the ACF rule thread, I was wondering something... Are we ever gonna see aircraft/ship mobility?
That's basically just using engine and gearbox to rotate a propellor.
I'll see if I can come up with a fin ACF tutorial

Please do so. I've been experimenting with it for the past week and I keep failing at it.
I think I hit all the major points

Make sure you have 'No lift' setting on for propellers.
I accidently put lift for one of my vertical stabilizers on my biplane and couldn't figure out why the thing was drifting sideways all the time :(

Yep, I included that in one of the slides. If you wanted to use Lift By Normal, you'd have the blades angled flat, so that they cut into the air with minimal drag. I've found No Lift to be the most effective since for some reason if the RPM is high enough with Lift By Plane, it'll reverse the propulsion direction
Wait, isn't the lowest weight you are able to put on a prop 1 kg? also, am I the only one wishing there was a good realistic alternative to ACF? I'm getting so fed up with the override clutch that I'm thinking of uninstalling it completly from the server.

You can manually input the weight to be extremely small. One way to intentionally crash a server is to enter a weight smaller than 1 * 10*-42 (42 zeros), and then apply it on a prop and try to move it, this clogs the source engine.
Uhm... this is only for peaceful purposes.. *cough*

What I've done is made a smoother for the throttle in the ACF controller e2 i use. Basically it would smooth the throttle after you've let off the gas. Also some engines rev down slower. I thought about changing the other engines to do this as well. One example is the 500cc Single. It's quick to rev up but slow to rev down, so it's almost as if there was no override clutch.
I dunno, i really like the idea of the engine having a StarterMotor input, and the gearbox having an optional 'auto clutch Off' checkbox or something.

Agreed. Or, maybe even a whole second class of gearboxes. The ones we have now lose the autoclutch and are called manuals. They otherwise wouldn't change. The ones that keep the autoclutch shift their ratios automatically, and instead of an input to actuate the clutch there's a "Stall speed" slider thrown in with the ratios. The other input is the "Gear" input(Shift up/down is removed), which would then toggle it between PRNDL as the number goes up from 1.

I don't agree with any of that. First off the list is pretty cluttered completely, secondly i think your missing the whole point of why there an autoclutch..
First off the list is pretty cluttered completely,
Then put a checkbox that toggles the two. Fuck. It can't be that hard. I actually like the current list, way easier to find what I want than it used to be. Besides it would be no different than the engine tree we have now. If I wanted a diesel I4 I would go Engines --> Diesel --> I4. If I wanted a three-speed automatic to put behind it I would go Transmissions --> Automatic --> Three Speed.

Make up your mind. Do you like the auto clutch or do you not like it? The auto-clutch is only there to make it easier to use a transmission for someone who just got ACF. It's already pointless. Even I wrote a clutch E2 that renders it vestigial and I manage to fuck up simple if statements more often than I get them to work. If I can manage a clutch E2 anyone can.
Having a proper automatic transmission justifies having the autoclutch.
You can't just have what you want when it comes to any mod, you have to consider the public. That aside, the autoclutch's purpose is not merely to be noob friendly, it's to keep your engine from stalling should you require too much torque and to aid with a simple shift. It's nice to have the autoclutch for a simple car, especially if you don't have a way to feed an analogue number with something like Joystick.
However in more complex contraptions the power users may wish to have more control over their driveline. To me the only 2 options for something like this would be a checkbox that turns off AutoClutch entirely, to suit both worlds, or a Wire-Input for "AutoClutch" That scales the thing so that we can choose how much 'automatic clutching' there really is, 0 turning it off entirely.
Edit:
Also, i disagree about having an automatic. My friends and I have all made a proper 1 2 3 R N D Auto gearbox for these gearboxes, it's a fun e2 to figure out. Providing noobs with an automatic only hinders them from learning what ACF is actually trying to do.

This is why the small engines are so great at climbing. I've been able to get up the same hills and walls as people using E2 propulsion with nothing but a tiny 1cyl. Haters be hatin'.
Cleaning out my screenshots folder. 56k warning.

Modernized m76. 21 tons, very good armor but poor mobility. El-op jammer pod. No longer in use.

XM20 prototype medium tank, still in the development stage. 20 tons, low p/w ratio but still effective mobility due to transmission optimization. 75mm gun, 14.5mm for AAA. Incredibly heavy armor (heavier than some 40 ton vehicles). Uses parented roadwheels to greatly reduce lag, and due to be fitted with a fire control system to improve accuracy at range and while moving.

I used to use recursive parenting to force server restart. Also I think weight tool craps out at 0.01kg. Just saiyan.
Also I think weight tool craps out at 0.01kg.
ACF Weight Tool can go as low as you want but weights below 0.01kg are unstable. Weights below 1X10^-10 will crash a server if the prop they are applied to is shot with anything OR is acted upon by things like forcers, field gens...etc. Anything below 1X10^-20 is highly not recommended and most likely will crash the server under any circumstances.

Fin propelled, steering via rear wheels, accelerates to 70km/h. It's different than original of course. In real life it had 4 cylinder engine and was much wider.
@frankess, your car isnt boring, i like the concept, at least its something else than a supersonic fin car i see all the time.
I'm almost done with the corvette, still need to make the holos and finish the front+back, chassis is done

Chopper front axle.
it looks like a wheelbot with cannons
also, updated acf today; client and server need to update.
Admiral Wrex fixed the ammo window- people with low res won't have it cut off anymore, and he added imperial output to engine information (horsepower/ lb ft)
I fixed the engine sounds to be mono since i removed soundscripting- i had forgot to do this.
