Taking a huge dump. The Alps-U Mk II. An uparmored Alps truck, this 6 1/2-ton version has improved laminate armor and some minor refinements. Doors are 1in thick laminate, the front is 1.5in including the massive 600hp V8. Artillery tractor. Strix 80mm mortar. Really more of a pack howitzer, not pretty but a testbed for a lightweight artillery carriage concept. It rotates on its (parented) wheels when aiming, and without the big ammo crate, weighs less than 300kg. Fires HEAT or HE-ER ammo to aroudn 15,000u accurately, after which the FCS cuts off to keep the ops down. Can be broken down into two loads or towed behind an... Less than 1 ton, with 1/4in plate siding. Has same track thing as the old Orthrus (the rotating plates and parents). [SUB]~100-150in.[/SUB] 20mm flak. Great for pwning minges. Not so great for shooting planes. M-137 Ballista. 25-ton 155mm howitzer. Not a frontline combat vehicle, this upgraded model has smoke emitters and IR jammers to quickly escape, a drop-in replacement to the fire control system, and two types of new ammo. The HEAT rounds penetrate more than 380mm of steel, while the APHE rounds can penetrate over 170mm of cover or light armor. Maximum of 2in armor thickness. [SUB]~250in[/SUB] M-20 Principes medium tank. Slow, with only a 75mm AP gun, but very heavily armored. Much tougher than it looks. Developed from the XM20 series. Likes to pick fights with bigger tanks and gloat when they can't penetrate; has won battles simply by waiting for the enemy to run out of ammo. Kind of pershing-esque. [SUB] ~300in[/SUB] M-203 Cerebrus mobile barrage layer. Remember the Orthrus? This is his little brother. Basically an artillery barrage on tracks; lots of ROF, but little penetration and runs out of ammo fast. It has less armor than the tank it's built off (the M-20), but is still protected against 50mms and up to 120mm frontally, which is adequate for its role. M-10 Hastiti light tank. Upgraded from the old XM10A and XM10A1. Same engine as the Principes, but with a 50mm gun and different running gear. Quite fast, and its gun has a low velocity frag round which is surprisingly useful. Still pretty tough for a ten ton. C-10. Obsolete APC. Used for target practice. AH-36 tiltrotor. Flies fast. Does plane things and heli things, because I'm too lazy to make both a ground attack plane AND a heli, and I suck at fin. Proof against 20mm AC and some 30-40mm when diving. 3.6 tons. All of these are designed to be simple and low lag. only the truck is over 125 props, and some like the epona are like 60 props. Parenting the roadwheels makes them lag a LOT less, it looks like ass if yuo don't work with it and at least add skirts, but it reduces the lag by like 50% or more. All of the weapons have an upgraded iterative PIP-based FCS with velocity compensation. And also some random shit: Desert-scheme Cerebrus. Working with the GLA Accidentally the base prop and no save FAK Marcus be droppin bombs nig Some collaborative with ghost we made awhile back. Any tutorials on hoverball-less spacecrafts?
yeah, provided you like spinning pointlessly without any control.

making a trophy truck death racing mobile thing.. It's got 2 40mm GL's on the side, a Smoke Launcher and 2 80mm Mortars out the back and 2 20mm HMG's out the front. Needs other people less than 10 tons to race around a course i made on desert driving =D [img_thumb]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/558702233882090085/4405CDDADFF0C99AEE3A36E03FFB0D8BCBE89675/[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/558702233882089278/C10BF1412265557B668F76AAA118D35FDAC3FD15/[/img_thumb] Without the weapons and ammo it topped out around 130 mph, thanks to it's 7.0 V12, but now im still tuning it to get it up to speed again.
yeah, provided you like spinning pointlessly without any control.
There are a ton of ways to not keep spinning without hoverballs, though.
There are a ton of ways to not keep spinning without hoverballs, though.
That's what I'm asking about. Even the smallest trust will send you spinning. I'm talking the whole cow, stabilizers, all that jazz.
That's what I'm asking about. Even the smallest trust will send you spinning. I'm talking the whole cow, stabilizers, all that jazz.
I think the simplest way is just using an Adv. Ballsocket to the world, set with some friction on every axis, free movement and no rotational limits. It's not perfect, but it really helps.
For stability reasons i had to drop the two side grenade launchers, and now it's top speed so far is 70mph.. Is kinda slow i think, but not bad considering the 15mm armor all the way around. I think it needs more health though..
That's what I'm asking about. Even the smallest trust will send you spinning. I'm talking the whole cow, stabilizers, all that jazz.
Simplest way of keeping things stable is with a simple delta formula in E2:
Thrust = 0-Speed-$Speed*5
Thrust is what you want your applyForce to be, speed is the velocity in the direction you want to limit. Example:
Speed= E:vel()*E:right() Thrust = 0 - Speed - $Speed*5 E:applyForce(E:right()*Thrust)
You can also experiment with quaternations, but I find them headache-inducing.
Thought i'd post both the Trophy Truck and the Death Machine side by side =D Also, all my games decided to unmount again. Don't you love that? Bah, quats are weak as piss. E:applyAngForce(E:angVel() * (E:mass() * -Multiplier))
haven't posted content in a while, so here goes. I'm working on a luxury sedan with all the trimmings. I'm trying to add in every little detail I can while still keeping things somewhat reasonable. I hammered out a neat cupholder design for the center console. This should also give a good idea of the 3 interior choices. Ash trimmed [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/17354920/Cupholders/ashwood.png[/t] Walnut trimmed [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/17354920/Cupholders/walnut.png[/t] Rosewood trimmed [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/17354920/Cupholders/rosewood.png[/t] Doesn't look like a cupholder you say!? Looks like but a flat piece of wood you say!? WELL THINK AGAIN [SUB][SUB][SUB][SUB][SUB]yay for low-quality gif[/SUB][/SUB][/SUB][/SUB][/SUB] 25 holograms and 20 clips. Totally reasonable for such an integral vehicle element.
Mr. White stop playing Second Life and get back to gmod already.

You're really getting a hang of those holos, yea? Looking good.
awsum holo cupholderz
ok now you're REALLY making me want to redo the interior of that ranger. :D
I've glued it all together but I don't know where to go now I can't even decide what it is at this stage.
Clearly a TRON bike.
Might do a tutorial on the carriage of this. ACF field guns either are really heavy, floppy, or immobile. This is a bit over 2 tons, with a full 30-round ammo load and an armored gun shield, able to be towed, and can handle sustained fire without rolling away or shifting position.
    Added lamps and the tachometer is a wip. Changed the rims a bit.
Finally a project I'm not likely to ditch. A random generic supercar that just popped out of my head.
that supercar is bomb as hell. also it's pretty nice that suspension on tanks and stuff is pretty viable with servers being faster, and using something called a "stiffplate". i shall make a video of dis
that supercar is bomb as hell. also it's pretty nice that suspension on tanks and stuff is pretty viable with servers being faster, and using something called a "stiffplate". i shall make a video of dis
That 'stiffplate' of yours is really disagreeing with the sheer amount of ammo in the bed of my deathtruck O.o
I wonder...is it considered cheating to use the natural flop in Gmod's axis constraint as suspension? :v: That's what I did with my last 'tracked' vehicle, the wheels weigh 125 each while the dozer is 25,000 pounds. They stay upright, how I'll never know, but at the same time it's quite a plush ride. Doesn't really flex over stuff at low speed, but it will absorb jumps and bumps at high speed pretty nicely.
Kebab: Imagine two wheels in the front constructed like the Light Runner in borderlands. I think that'd do the trick!
Built around my cupholders for now reason for an hour [t]http://i.imgur.com/TAzeY.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/TyCbC.jpg[/t]
yessss The long wooden lines and wooden tray reminds me of the dash in my Mercedes [t]http://i.imgur.com/X5BAI.jpg[/t] Now all you need is to make the top and the bottom part of the dash black and a round instrument cluster that goes up from the dashboard. Then you gotta benz. [editline]edit[/editline] And a radio where the (magnificent) heated automatic cupholders are. V:v:V
