I don't like MakeSpherical as much as LUA wheel, even though you have to go into wire meny, grab the wheel, place it on a random prop, remove random prop. BECAUSE!: with LUA wheel, it never messes up the rotation of the wheel, you can parent to it NO Problem, the hitbox stays the same as the prop, and doesn't change into a huge sphere.
I don't know how to get the best out of an engine, although I've managed to get about 30mph out of my 13t tank with an I6.
I know it's just for fun and all but I don't get the appeal of putting a silly big engine in a car. Nearly every time I see an ACF car, it involves using a V12 or V8, usually with a displacement above 7 litres. I'm not trying to bash anyone but the Volvo P1800 originally had a straight four with a dis. of 1.8 or 2 liters. Putting a huuuggeee V12 in it takes down the respect I had for the car, imo. I'm not saying that it has to be the same as the original car's engine, but LITERALLY every time I see an ACF car, it has a 37363 liter V12 or 131320 liter V8 that all it does to the car is making wheelspin.

And that's why I insist on making tiny vans with the 250cc engine.

No offence but you're posting this thing 2nd of 3rd time

Well if nobody listens >.>;
The only time i used v12's were in my trophy truck, and i put one in my 1920 car as well. Otherwise all my other cars tend to have very modest engines. the Miata has the smallest i4. I'm working on a hatchback atm thats using the smallest flat4 as well.

My latest work on a older car i was working on some time ago. Dusted it off and cleaned up the curves, and while building it I had a "breakthrough" with holos. This is the result!
I have to thank Nyrem for the idea on the pedals and the shifter. Without his morgan for inspiration this wouldn't have happened <3

Powerslides, in a nutshell. A 1.0-2.0 liter engine is adequate, a 7.2 liter engine is fun, and a 9.2 liter engine is grin-inducing hilarity. That 15 liter V8? Yay Wheelies!
That's why I use them anyway. i'd rather have fun doing powerslides and donuts than putz around in a realistic car that could barely outrun it's own shadow. If I wanted that I'll drive in real life.

I wouldn't have to keep posting that but I get ticked off when I see so much potential in car, ruined by putting some hilariously huge engine in it, making it seem so off it hurts.
Those holo car gadgets are pretty nice. i feel the steering wheel should turn less at speed though.

You don't have to understand why people do as they do, as long as it doesn't hurt you or anyone else you just gotta learn to deal with it. It's not up to you to say what people can or cannot do in a video game.

I'm not saying that "YOU CANNOT DO THIS PLEASE IT HURTS MY FEELINGS", I'm just stating an opinion. I'm not trying to force it onto anyone but seriously, something is iffy if you put a 24l V12 onto a car that weighs 800kg and thinking that you're badass for doing it, which is what I (tried) to point out above. If you have any idea how many times I've seen a guy come up to me and ask me why my car was so slow in GMod (the 600's 0-60 was somewhat 9 seconds) and told him that I either a. used a medium range ACF engine or b. used simulated engine in E2, he'd laugh and ask why I did not use a 27263L V12. Which is what ticks me off.
I doubt most people (if any) do it because they then consider them self badass, I'd go as far as to say that they do it because it's fun. And there's a fine line between stating your opinion and trying to force your beliefs down other people's throats. You did the latter, good day.

Are you trying to start up an argument or are you just being a dick? Seriously? All of the above is opinion matter, even though I did not note it. And actually, I did say that it was an opinion piece. I mean, fucking hell, take a look at the first post I made about it.

since when was this not an opinion piece, please explain.

and if no one has ever went up to you and asked if you could race and went "no", then asked about engine types and him laughing at you for having a smaller engine, you've never played GGG or any other relatively big ACF servers.
What if they come up to you and ask what what engine it uses, and you tell them it uses expression2?
Then they laugh at you, like they know something you don't, oblivious to the fact that ACF engines
are basically expression2(if used correctly, not HERP DERP REVS) for dummies.
Edit:
Yes, I understand ACF's purpose is to standardize contraptions.

This is the kind of logic you are using: "I'm not racist, I just hate niggers"
And Jack, no I haven't and I own a (used to be) relatively big ACF server.

The hell, no it's not? I literally just stated the same as "I like spaghetti but dislike it when the cook puts too much ketchup on it". Seriously, I had no idea that fucking opinions on Facepunch were now forbidden.
Here's an opinion, I like a lot of old cars and not so much the newer ones. Am I going to get burnt to hell by the FP community now?
Also stop with starting darn arguments in here. If you want to continue, do it with pm's. anyhow I wouldn't continue - because what I stated was an opinion.
[editline]edit[/editline]
right so to get on with it, let me get some content. Working on making my irl car in GMod, just finished getting all the measurements. Does SProps come with something similar to a 1x1 but in orange flat?
come on guys stop thread shitting
Does SProps come with something similar to a 1x1 but in orange flat?
If 1x1 means 48x48, then yes. Mind you the SProps flat are not as flat as the phx super flat plates.

So much hurt on that last page, christ.
People are allowed to play how they want, however mind-numbingly stupid that may be. That said, people are entitled to their own opinions on issues such as this. Seems as though both parties in the matter overreacted, so let's all just calm down.
Also Evac, that was kinda low of you to compare Jack's opinion to racism. Just sayin'.
This may be kind of a dumb question, but being new to the whole car building side of gmod, how do you guys build your seats? I'm guessing it's made with props, but i thought i would ask in case there was a seat model that i was missing.

You misinterpreted my comparison, it never had anything to do with racism it was only about how the applied logic is the same.
Most of the time using airboat/jeep seat or office chair, but in any case you can just make a seat out of props and put airboat seat inside setting alfa color to 0.
You misinterpreted my comparison, it never had anything to do with racism it was only about how the applied logic is the same.
But even making that comparison was in bad taste. There are several less offensive comparisons you could have made.
I was just wondering if these more detailed seats were made out of props or if it was the pilot seat or something like that

Could be ACF seat.

Just a statue at the moment, but the suspension is 'rigged'(holo...its all holos actually), so I can easily make it work.
RC F1 racing... I can see it now.
It's glorious.
I know it's late, but,,
POOOOWEERRR!

I think there's some nice oversteer to get from this.
Needs more engines.
