In real life? Well, the cycle can be explained in a few steps below: -The air is taken in and compressed by a series of rotors. -Fuel is injected into the air stream. -The air/fuel mixture enters the combustion chamber, where it is ignited. -The expanding combustion gasses exit the engine while passing over another series of working rotors -The working rotors spin the shaft and in turn the compressor rotors.
Fuel is injected inside the combustion chamber, not before it. Lets get a little more detailed here. There are several kinds of jet engines. Jet engines, such as ramjets or scramjets, don't even have moving parts, let alone turbines. Most turbine jet engines are turbojets or turbofans. Turbojets, such as engines on a sr-71, Work just how MrWhite described, where all the air compressed by the compression turbines goes through the combustion chamber. This has disadvantages, though. Turbojets can operate up to very high speeds, faster than Turbofans in general, but they have less thrust at lower speeds than turbofans. They also run much hotter than turbofans and require significantly more maintenance. Most modern jet engines are turbofans, they work much the same way as turbojets do, except not all of the air compressed goes through the combustion chamber and secondary turbines. This bypassed air helps cool the engines, which is why they run cooler and require less maintenance, on top of the fact that they run slower in general. Higher speed turbofans, such as the ones used in modern fighter jets, are low bypass turbofans, where most of the air goes through the combustion, and not as much bypasses the combustion chamber and secondary turbines. Because most of the air does go through the combustion chamber and is burned, where it expands, and exits the rear of the jet at very high speeds, and only a fraction of the air gets bypassed, where it exits the jet much more slowly, the jet is still able to maintain high speeds. Jets used on commercial jets, such as the stupidly massive airbus jets, are high bypass jets, where most of the air is bypassed. Most of the air exiting these jets are moving at slower velocities, much more useful for slower applications. There are also turboprop and turbopump jet engines, whose primary purpose is not to generate thrust, but to generate torque from the secondary turbines, which is then used to drive hydraulic pumps and other such things, like in helicopters, some larger military planes, tanks, such as the m1 abrams, and other applications. Way more information than you asked for I'm sure, but what can I say, I like jets :)
jets are awesome.
Anyways, I built a van. [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/903234677482086543/4DA691DEE69CB646D6559D5069A213C31810CCE1/[/t] [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/903234677482083962/AA64AF291CD0A1E5B6314AD17EBB148DB63D5B06/[/t] Can anyone guess what van it is?
Anyways, I built a van.
???? It looks kind of 80s...or maybe a mid-90s ford E-150.
^ holy ship
Looking nice, but where's the ammo tab?
What would you need ammo for??? [sub]lolololo i forgot a thing[/sub] EDIT: another day, another panel; (guess what those buttons do!)
It's a 2nd Gen Dodge B-Series Panel Van, sans a lot of details that will make it look less like every other van in existence. Ref: [t]http://jalopnik.com/assets/images/jalopnik/2008/08/Blind-Date-PanelVan.jpg[/t]

So I just learned how to make a basic suspension system from a youtube video. How can I stop the car from fish tailing so much? And what makes a suspension stiffer or looser in general?
So I just learned how to make a basic suspension system from a youtube video. How can I stop the car from fish tailing so much? And what makes a suspension stiffer or looser in general?
What kind of suspension are you using? Roll bars usually helps for fish tailing. You can make the suspension stiffer by making the damping on your elastics greater, but mind it being too much due to spazzing.

Hadn't touched my Metal Gear Rex since the day I built it pretty much, so I wrote some new code for it. The first 30 seconds is the older and inferior stuff, for comparison. Fucking media tags...

What I've been working on: [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/576723778181168325/72895218DFC7B0B12E5E2B60B1BF9B2E0C9B8820/[/t] Edit: you guys have no sense of humor xD
First tank built in gmod 13, made completely out of Sprops. It's just a generic 60t MBT with a 120 atm. Do you guys remove gravity from the gun when you make tanks? I usually don't want to because it makes the tank move in wacky ways sometimes without the gun to balance the weight of the bigass V12 in the back. Although if I leave the gravity on, my tank can't even steer...
