I made this a few weeks ago and it has been useful for helping me choose engines, its not done yet. Its a chart that has all the engine data for ACF mobility that you need to know (except the redline because I forgot it). https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?hl=en&hl=en&key=0Ak47xQ_ojkNIdDRUTmxpVzREQnhTSVVpcjNiZkU3Y1E&output=html Content inbound. Output to weight is calculated by (horsepower/weight in kilograms)*(lb/ft torque/weight in kilograms).
Did Garry hard-code the maximum value of r_maxmodeldecal to around 2500? :v:
Please update this stuff.. Here is a good multi parent http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=111929524 and here is the working ACF svn https://github.com/ACF-Gmod/ACF.git/branches/master Remove wheel2/lua wheels and use this instead https://github.com/Falcqn/makespherical/trunk
Can you tell me the approximate size of the SVN files?
Can you tell me the approximate size of the SVN files?
Multi parent is 13 kb ACF shows 169 mb but thats svn and svn adds alot of filesize for backup or something. Makespherical is 23.9 kb but thats also on svn.
What about Sprops, I just found where that was. Also, just tried out ACF, hasn't changed much but can someone tell me how to get engines to work? Did all the linking and that just cant get it to spin wheels. And why are guns not doing any damage to props? I was checking with the cutting torch. Also, how should I got about parenting? I tried parenting the prop to the driver pod but then it lost all physics, including interaction with ACF shells - which never used to happen.
I don't suppose anyone has a working PA laying around?

The one I use is the purple cylinder. This lets the objects retain their physical interaction and also allows you to edit their weights/colours etc.
Hey guys... [img_thumb]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/866081809013099329/035D540528625CED2EE28528581A0B0A065CE2F5/[/img_thumb] In about two weeks it should be ready for playing stage.
I remember Pirate Ship Wars. I was so sad that it died out. There were only Korean servers. I didn't know their language consisted of a series of squares..
Wouldn't it be better if ACF had Rendered driveshafts instead of that horrible rope that is now?
Wouldn't it be better if ACF had Rendered driveshafts instead of that horrible rope that is now?
Do them in holos, or props :D
Working on a new map, the part i've made so far is based of the dirt3 dc-compound playground. it will feature possability's for: dragracing gymkhana crawling boats airplanes and maybe some other things. Not nearly done yet, but the body is complete. 7L V12 and a 0-60 time of 1.3 seconds or less (as usual...). Better road handling and control-ability and a suspension. Final mass will be around 925 kilograms and the output to weight is about 0.1941 (HP*lb/ft)/weight^2 (output units to weight). This is the 4th Mamba shitpost on FP. Changes are extensive, new body, longer wheelbase, the engine has been inverted to lower the center of gravity. The car was dropped onto size 25 tires instead of 32s. New adaptive throttle control, new LCS, new dual variable clutch automanual with active torque steer prevention. Reduced frontal grip to further reduce torque steer (torque steer was a big problem in past iterations of this car due to extreme frontal grip). The cartoony handling has been mitigated. Camber tests and other handling and suspension tests are in the works to learn more about how to build high performance track grade cars. E2 downforce that is considered to be 'gay' or 'retarded' by most will also be drastically reduced and a frontal fin and rear strakes have been added to compensate. This car may be done in a month or two, all of the tests will take extensive time to conduct and validate.

Use this link, there's a button right there that says "ZIP" which will always give you a zip of the latest version. [editline]4th January 2013[/editline] [EDIT] Actually you could use this: it just starts the download for you automatically
Do them in holos, or props :D
what do you think holos and ropes are... this would look 100 times better and lag less than those shitty ropes that lag all over the place.

I'll just update the OP with the new content stuff. [editline]4th January 2013[/editline] Also I'm keeping old parenting tools, such as Karbs improved parenting there, just if anyone should ever need or feel to fix it up. It's been deemed out of date since GM13 came out though.
My Fin2 Toll is broken. Can someone link me to a working one?
Boat
I've just had a thought, can you get up on a plane with a speedboat in gmod?
Anyone got a link to smartsnap? I've been unable to design any large boat to help me fight these guys :P [img_thumb]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/882970307841723828/6B0B0E18835215BB064787988ACC7F0DDA5D4ADA/[/img_thumb] Also a link to the military/building texture packs would be nice.
anybody else than me annoyed that duping by right clicking doesn't include stuff that is parented anymore? any fix?
anybody else than me annoyed that duping by right clicking doesn't include stuff that is parented anymore? any fix?
I use No-Collide All Multi and no-collide it all to the base using the "to base" option. Should make it so you only have to right click the base to dupe it all.

Looks tidy. Just something off imagination or is there a car you're using as reference?

I've been working on this since yesterday, and I have a few hours into it now. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Q43AY.jpg[/t] It's probably one of my cleaner builds so far. [t]http://i.imgur.com/NjUCk.jpg[/t] I still obviously need to touch up a few parts on the exterior, and the whole interior needs to be finished. I still need to add tail lights and some exhausty bits, but everything else is about done. As for an engine, I was thinking of either an I6 or a V12, but I'm not sure. I have plenty of room for either, but I just don't know what really suits the car better. [t]http://i.imgur.com/fgsYA.jpg[/t] I'm also not too happy with the front fenders in relation to the rest of the car, as I feel they might be a bit dated for the style I was originally working towards. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with how it's coming together. I only have ~160 props in it now, so I have plenty of wiggle room for the interior and any other little details I think about adding. I'll also probably make a cabriolet variant, since the way I built the rear lends itself well to being cut off and smoothed over :v: [editline]5th January 2013[/editline] And Vodkah, that car is awesome. I've always envied your ability to work out those curves like you do.
I LOVE YOU [editline]edit[/editline] and go for the straight six. If there was a straight eight, it'd probably fit the car better but a straight six is the shit in those kind of cars. Were V12's even around for smaller cars, or well cars in general back then? They were used in airplanes, not sure about cars though.
CAN SOMEONE LINK ME A WORKING FIN TOOL PLEASE Also, any other fun and usefool tools? - bar the ones in OP.
