U so kind! Also splam i seriously lol'd
What are the advantages of that?
I've basically done the same a long time, only I'm using 1 rope and 1 ballsocket instead.
Quick question. I tried updating my today but even after the update I dont get the new AC model. someone got an idea ?
I have no idea what is going on at all. you updated your today, but you don't get the AC model what :v:. are you talking about ACF and updates?
Sorry my keyboard got some issues. So new try, I started playing Gmod after a while and downloaded ACF today. But the problem ist that even tho I got the newest version I cant seem to find the new AC cannon model ingame. :suicide:
What are the advantages of that?
big weight savings, it's sturdier, and lowers your center of gravity tremendously. [editline]14th January 2013[/editline] make sure you're going from the proper svn folder and remove any old acf models in gmod model directory if you have em (god knows why)
Thanks Red. Helped me a lot
big weight savings, it's sturdier, and lowers your center of gravity tremendously.
I retain the notion that this can be done more quickly, easily, and server-friendly with a simple PA axis. Wait, couldn't it just be done with Center Axis as well, or am I missing something?
Re-watched the video, first I time didn't catch the bit where the rotating prop only weighs like 5kg. That's nifty.
I don't get why this is necessary. On the server I frequent, we use a single ball-socket that constrains the gun directly to the base but constrains the turrets Z axis rotation to the guns Z axis rotation. Its a 3-4 step process that takes less than a minute. Removes the need for a turret base that actually serves a supportive purpose. I learned how to use it last year and the constraint is as old as this gmod tank building fetish.
so anybody know what happened with PA, and where can i get one or how to fix it ? come on ! 0______0

So is there any reason why the fully operational non-official version of PA isn't made public?
Because Wenli starts bitching.
On the Non-Tank side of things here's a shark. It works under water and only targets people who are in the water so it doesn't beach itself.
Because Wenli starts bitching.
So instead of the working non-official version we get a buggy non-official version?
Does anyone has a working Precism Alignment ? The link in Op is from gmod12..
Because Wenli starts bitching.
He didn't bitch. Half-assed broken versions of his tools were being uploaded left and right before he even had a chance to fix and upload them himself. He got pissed, and when he complained, you people are the ones who bitched; maybe even to the point of him giving up on it, but that situation is still a mystery.
He got pissed
How about this. If people start uploading broken versions of your tools, fine, tell them to take it down. But at least fucking tell us if you're working on it, or what you're doing, or SOMETHING. The tool is in limbo right now because no one knows whether to start working on a new one, or just wait for wenli to mysteriously come back with the tool. I don't mind him wanting to be the one to bring it back, but you can't just disappear like this and prevent people from posting something that is under public license. And it's fine if you don't agree. But this is my view. And until I see a recent post from wenli on the topic, it will remain my opinion. EDIT: Anger got the better of me a little bit here. I could have said this better, and in a more neutral tone. So I shall try again. I believe that Wenli owes us some explanation as to the status of the tool. After all, it is an open source project, and, strictly speaking, he can't stop us from posting modified versions of it. He can only request it. I support him in his desire to be the one responsible for the updated version, and I think he has a right to it. However, important tools and programs like this become abandon-ware, and are taken up by the community that supports it. I think it's representative of the importance of this tool that it only took a few weeks for people to start to support it on there own. Possibly they where over-zealous in their support (they could have waited for Wenli to announce something). However, I think it is pretty clear by this point that Wenli is gone. He may yet return and release an official update. Until that happens though, I say this tool can officially be considered abandoned, and as it was, and still is, under a public license, it is free game for all. (All this is, of course, assuming that Wenli used the free account type of SourceForge originally. Which explicitly states that all software released through it is open source) I will repeat this again. This is my OPINION. Share it if you will, disagree if you will.
balls to all this crap i need my tool back ಠ_ಠ
How about this. If people start uploading broken versions of your tools, fine, tell them to take it down. But at least fucking tell us if you're working on it, or what you're doing, or SOMETHING.
Agreed with this, here's some open-source funtime; The original PA was released under the GPLv3 license according to this. My understanding of the GPL is that any derivative works are defended against takedown demands (under the "freedom to change the software to suit your needs" and the "freedom to share the changes you make") as long as the derivative is also released under GPLv3 with credit to the author for their work. I'm sure our mysterious PA benefactor is in the clear for a public release if he wants to do so! Now I'm not saying that Wenli's about to start issuing cease-and-desists for a video game addon (because that would be hilarious), or even if he still cares, but for once the legal bullshit is useful v:v:v
Yay boats.
The ships are pretty cool, but it looks more like a lua thing? (try here?) HP looks way too high on the boats. They look like ironclads so I guess it's understandable but people might get bored of popping their peashooters at eachother for 12 minutes at a time. If the boats are made from props you could break the ship in 2 or something for the death sequence :v:
That ship's sinking bugged out[being worked out], the ships usually have props break off, and the boats slowly sink beneath the water, and those are actually playermade boats.
Oh, then that's super cool. Still gonna comment on the 12-minute gameplay though. I remember an old gamemode called pirate ship wars, it had physical boats that you could shoot holes in and smash into bits with crew-controlled cannons and you could board other boats with muskets etc. If you make something like that with player-made boats and less lag, that would be hot.

Share it if you will, disagree if you will.
This pretty much sums it up. I could understand if the original authors were taking credit for his hard work. I could understand if he was routinely updating or keeping us in the loop, etc. But he's basically fallen off the face of the earth. He has yet to do anything except, for the lack of a more gentle term, be a troll cunt about it. If I fell off the face of the earth tomorrow and people took up updating my track chip and fire control system and such for me, I would be not pissed, but HONORED. It would be, to me, a great honor and a strong compliment if people thought that much of my work, that they would pick up where I left off and even then still give me credit. I don't mean disrespect to wenli, but I don't give a single flying fuck if he bitches at this point. If he really wanted to be heard or gave a fuck, he'd release a fixed version or at least be giving status updates. He is not, his project IS public license, the fixed version IS public license and does NOT attempt to discredit him, so he, both legally and argumentatively, doesn't have a leg to stand on. If you release public open-source software, certainly such vital a piece, you can't then turn around and bitch when someone modifies and improves or fixes it. I agree with you 100%, and I think you speak for most of the community. Also ghost those snailpanzers are lookin' quite good. Your modeling's improved significantly over the past six months.
Guys I released my fixed pa http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1239976 edit:
The original PA was released under the GPLv3 license according to this.
the tab says it all :v:
