Hey builders. I made a stool that I think you will like: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=126566296] [t]http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii113/Frankess/My%20artworks/SmartPainter.jpg[/t] and to have some content that matches thread: [t]http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii113/Frankess/Gmod/gm_drivingmap_mk1-95_beta0005.jpg[/t] Also I updated Visual Clip tool. It now has a refresh button and clips are automaticly refreshed after you join a server with that tool. Here it is: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=126569706

I already do realistic camo. -.-
Can it actually materialize things the way the picture of that car shows?
I already do realistic camo. -.-
I was kind of over excited and said it wrong. I meant to say woodland camo etc, though I haven't tried out the tool yet so I don't know if it's possible. [editline]11th February 2013[/editline] Scratch all I said, I might have mistaken the tool for something else. Damn I feel dumb right now.
Sorry for misleading pic :< I'll change it quickly! EDIT: Not possible. Let's call it a catchy advertisment.
The question is: Would it be possible to create a tool that does what Unrezt asked?
It is. But there is no such graphic card that could handle it. BUT I've go idea for one tool that can do something simillar. But I've got already bunch of other ideas to realize. EDIT: updated picture. It should be less misleading.

Nice job

Some projected texture tickery that only applies to certain props might be able to do such an effect.
What happened to all the materials I used to be able to use in GMOD 12? I'm down to like 6 actual ones from Half Life 2 and then the PHX ones.
Chances are they were extras and not actually from the engine. Or Garry just hasn't mounted the other textures yet.
Welp, i spent about 2 hrs building a chinook heli with a WAC chinook as my base model (Although it was about 2x bigger) but even though the rotors were nocollided with all during testing, the rotors just went flying and smashed the chinook and caused a black hole of props. All was lost. Just fuck. it was looking so fucking awesome too and could hold about 30 players.
Your fault for not saving
Good thing you saved multiple times during the build process and made sure to only test a duplicated version, right? If you didn't, it's your own fault.
I didn't feel so compelled to save, as i was on singleplayer and i had no idea the rotors would flip out like that. I didn't even get to see what was causing it.
It was probably a mixture of poor constraint strength and excessive forces that snowballed and tore it all apart. Pity that you lost it, then.
There is a great function in AD2 - autosaving. Here you have explained how to use it: http://code.google.com/p/advdupe2/wiki/ToolExplanation
Can we get a noob ban instated for this thread. No offence but WAC helis take no talent to make, and you should not be posting about how you lost something like that because you didn't save. I really don't care if you didn't save, your fault, we don't care. I really don't care for anything like that unless if you wrote the lua yourself, but since it is WAC, you didn't. If you cant constrain either, no one should waste any of their time throwing you a pity party.
No need to be rude Sli, even if you have a point.

Lets bring this incident to an end and fill the pages that follow this with more content and less bullshit. :zoid: -Just realized that was there Edit: Yeah I was being a bit critical earlier, zwhoops
It actually wouldnt be too difficult, but it wouldnt be possible in source. Some projected texture tickery that only applies to certain props might be able to do such an effect.
Actually, it would be even easier technically. I don't think any engine supports this, but it's completely possible. All you have to do is make all the props use the same texture, then alter their UV coordinates to match their position in world space relative to the texture's projection plane (x, y, or z) and start and end points Think of it like this: TexturePlane:toLocal(Vertex:pos()) #Chop off the vector component that matches the textures projected direction. #plus some maths to map this value between 0 and 1 for UV coordinates Then you would be able to paint onto the texture however you like and the design would be displayed onto the props as though it where painted onto a real object. (Once the texture is updated in game of course) Unfortunately no game engine I know of actually supports modifying the UV coordinates of models during runtime. Which pretty much makes this a moot point, but I wanted to share. ___________________________________________ Also, does anyone have any tutorials on ACF gear ratio setups? At one point I could easily get something up to 100 mph, but I've forgotten how to do it and I can't seem to break 50 mph no matter how powerful or light I make my vehicle.
