Post Your Current WIP V.3!: Tutorials, Tools and Model Packs Galore (GM13 googogogo)

Hi max
I think the rear end would look nice tucked in, but not like the end of a pill.
Gonna remake the thing completely. It was more of test anyways, and now that I know I can get decent results out of the method, I'm gonna spend more time on the next one.
im not sure if anyone else see's it, but on a slightly longer chassis and a lower roof line, that could be a Fisker Karma from the front
So, I worked a bit more and I came up with something I like from about every angle. the front remained the same, save for a few bits and pieces I smoothed up top:

The rear is where the fun happened. Instead of >50 props, I found that some PHX curves fit the shape just about perfectly. Had to fill in some gaps here and there, but it's much better than that scaly mess I had before.

Ok, here's the park I don't like. The top looks rather strange to me, but I'm not quite sure how to fix it.

And my favorite angle of all:

A little bit longer and it could be the batmobile.
Ok then, let me rephrase;
Why would ever need an eccentric crank
[editline]24th May 2012[/editline]
I don't think he actually means he has an actual distributor. I think he's talking more about how many unique piston strokes he has per revolution.
well I do use an actual distributor in a way, bearings from gpses, then I can rotate the plate holding the GPSes ever-so-slightly to advance or retard engine timing and make sure it doesn't run in reverse. Then I parent it when it runs right and remove the plate. Easier than doing it in E2 and gets the same exact effect.

pretty much the same way you tune ignition on a real engine.

That's pretty awesome

I'm sorry, this isn't standard procedure? I thought everyone used this method, I know I do.
Little project I've been working on, this is only a small portion of it though...

Try to ignore Kleiner in the background, a friend was messing around.
Looks good
Did you crash after you ended that video?
ahaha I was just thinking the same thing.

naw, just flew between the road pylons for fun. Shit's agile as fuck.
Every time I see a project with holo gauges I look up holo tutorials, and then five minutes later I quit. Fuuuu

You can't search topics.

They're really not hard. If you look over a few on wiremod you can get the hang of it.
my next gen MBT, i only make about 2 of these a year. features a lot of innovations that i've never done before. I worked on it for 12 hours straight; testing mobility (it can turn on spot and has a good automatic gearbox thanks to kyle) HE hole testing, and i had to develop it to be resistant to more than just tanks

its top speed is poor (45kmh) but it trades speed for armor. 120mm gun, 40 tons.

It does things like redirection of the ammo detonation, like seen here, when the rear ammo cache blows, the tank still survives, and it doesn't destroy the gearboxes 60% of the time so it can hobble away.

I'm paranoid or there's a rather rude connotation to this statement. Either way, care to elaborate?

what? it just interacts with multiple forward and reverse gears as well as spot-turning gears.
Right. Completely forget what I said, then.

Finished up most of the sportscar thing, though I'm still at a loss for a name.

I'm still not satisfied with the area right behind the windscreen, but I can live with it.
I also basically finalized the internals.

4.7l V12 with a theoretical 16 gears using a transfer case and 8 speed gearbox. Front independent-rear solid axle with dampened leaf springs all around. Works really well for the application since I was wanting a fairly stiff setup and all I have to do is reweight the spring props if I need to change the stiffness. Also lends itself really well to uneven weight distribution since it's so easy to modify. The steering setup I'm using is actuated with hydraulics and has a 60° range and a +15° caster.
Now I just have to put it all together in a non-halfassed way like I've been doing on Peacebuild for the last few days. I think I have the steering figured out and working properly, Andy :v:

Goddamn that's some caster
amplar is that the new magazine fed tank gun model?

I'm just jealous to see epic tanks like this, mine look as shit, worse arranged and super squishy, not to mention the horrible mobility. Feels as if you build T-90 while I build T-62 disasters.
Edit: What is that thing?

pod protection
My best tank by now, 120mm 4 engines, 48t, mobility shit, top speed 70 Km/h.
Edit: having problems posting screenshot from steam.
Edit: still problems but lets hope this will work

Sounds like its handling much better now, look forward to you fetching it round for me to try and break it again ^^
i couldn't mount a 140 to the typhoon, so i made a whole new motor carriage just for a 140. it drives like ass but has decent protection, and goes 70+ kmh

i was challenged by someone on another server, i never spend this much effort into tnaks
What servers could you recommend for tank building help?
