ok so it was originally a pullman like in this picture [t]http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8022/7552769502_3a8c839531_h.jpg[/t] modifying it into a short wheelbase model like the old one because fucking idiots keep coming up to me, going "lol wtf is this shit why is it so long".
Earlier on Jake posted pictures of 2 of our collaborative jets, the assault being mostly my project, the fighter being mostly his. So here I thought I'd post the evolution of the assault plane he posted, as it is a project recently revived from months ago. Didn't get much of a response at all on the tank, which made me sad. I made a bit more progress with it. I added some ladder rungs to the front to give a bit more detail. I also simplified the sides where before I had a different layer of panels that didn't look good at all. I also revamped the turret geometry a tad when I figured out that bullets could fit through the seams where two faces didn't quite fit together. I've not forgotten about the turret access hatch, I just haven't added it yet. I suggest you move the viewport a little higher so the driver will be able to see out of it though.

My first "contraption" was a boat made out of wooden crates nailed together because I thought weld only worked on metal things.

Meanwhile in Nazi Germany [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/m9Clc.jpg[/IMG] It's the left tank track of the Landkreuzer P1000, as you can see I still need to do all the wheels and mechanisms inside it and the protruding parts from the sides. I was just looking for some random dupes that I can spawn and tear apart, learn how they work and are built. I got some but they are nowhere NEAR the kinda things I see in here and are generally the same as what I can build. (Which suck horribly.)

I know I built it, and I posted it here so people who aren't that little kids friends know it. So here, have my Maus (It has the turret, and a working driving system and ACF), you'll need Wiremod and ACF. I'm not too proud of her overall turnout but she's a decent contraption. In adition to that I'd strictly advice you to not unfreeze your contraption at all during building. Dupe it as you go along and play with the duplicated model. another piece of advice is to learn pretty much all the basic functions of Precision Allignment as it is perhaps the most important tool of them all, learn how to move points, how to constrain and how to mirror/move things agularly. Good luck[/QUOTE] Yes I'm still very nooby, most I can do is basic shapes. And build a ball socket engine.
Precision alignment isn't always needed, I only use it to mirror props from one side to the other. When you get precision aligment it will come with something called physgun buildmode. Combine physgun buildmode with the multi parent tool and you can position props perfectly wothout collisions, without nocollide constraints, then parent the detail props to a chassis. It really makes building shapes so much easier. Look up parenting tips and such, when you master parenting you can make shapes on your vehicles with as many prips as you like.
Spent an hour designing a tank. Came out horrible. Deleted it all. Bah I'll get the hang of this soon. Also. When trying to use the Maus. It seems to not spawn correct. Like it clips into itself and then goes all spazzy. Not sure if it's me doing something wrong or?
Do you have wiremod? Without wiremod it won't parent and will commit suicide If it still has problems with wiremod you may need to update the E2 before used and I'll upload it for you.

It comes up with a window each time I start the map, and when I check version it says it's up to date. Unless I've missed something.

The wings are rectangles because of how restricting making the air foil shape was.
