Tired of finding suitable props for wheel arches
is it bad that i recognized this before i saw the whole thing?
is it bad that i recognized this before i saw the whole thing?
No, that just hints of real craftmanship.
oh, hello I just wanted something big... And it does 100 km/h in this state...
Why is it that every offroad map in gmod is made for offroad cars that are 2-3 times the size of a real car?
Have you seen the scales most people build at?
No, that just hints of real craftmanship.
i'm 100% sure he based it on this:
Have you seen the scales most people build at?
Yes, and that's alright, but it's increasingly difficult for those of us that build to scale.
What features are you guys planning to add to ACF (apart missiles of course)?
I hope there will be bombs. With adjustable payload and stuff.
I just hope that there will be more types of rounds (like APFSDS).
So this is pretty much ready to be released, I would just like some fresh eyes on it to see if I missed any bugs. Add me on steam if interested.
Is there a fitting flat end cap for the smallest of current tubes? (this is the last post of this page - PAGEKING ALERT)
'im so....so sleepy....*yawn*' oo pageking
IMA FUCK YOUR SHIT UP
NO Oh wait...
A tiny of tiny triangle props would be nice. They'd have various ratios. You know, for those hard angles that you have problem finding a good prop for so you just slap a big phx plate in there and stop caring.
Agree, I haven't been able to find any good small triangles in the 0.25-0.5 PHX unit range. Some 1:2, 2:3 etc triangles would be really nice.
Do you think e2 would be quick enough to handle quadrotor stabilisation / manoeuvres to this kind of level or am I wasting my time?
Alright, I'll be adding some smaller triangles. x6 and x3 for the current heights, and a new set of smaller ones. Edit: The colored ones are 12x12, for size comparison(by the way, each grid unit is 1.5x1.5). Smaller dimensions include... Right - 3x3, 6x3, 6x6, 12x3, 12x6, 24x3, 24x6, 36x3, 36x6, 48x3, 48x6 Isosceles - 3x3, 3x6, 3x12, 6x3, 6x6, 6x12, 12x3, 12x6, 24x3, 24x6, 36x3, 36x6, 48x3, 48x6
I've been able to make a similar stabilisation system with wire thrusters and *wait for it* wire gates. It's really simple. /about maneuvers, don't worry. If you want it to do a backflip for example, tell it to ignore stabilisation on certain axis, send more power to one propeller, shut down the other, and keep checking gyroscope until it's made it's turn and then simply resume stabilisating everything Mass maneuvers would work too.
Wiregates are really inefficient and bulky. Not only that, but they require a LOT of time to place and to process equations. The only reason you should use them is for parenting. I used to use wiregates as well, until I learned about Expression and Expression 2.
I'm not saying they're the best thing ever and that you should use them and that E2 sucks. E2 is far superior once you learn to use it. It's like all the gates and detectors combined. I realize that. But I used gates for my little boredom project, and I shared my experiences. Wire gates just underlined the simpleness of the concept (used like 4-5 of them). /oh you people
Just a truck, still needs more details and i need to re-make the chassis, it is based on the Jeep Mighty FC Concept Storms Moab. Some visclip is fucked, i only used it when i couldn't replace with props.
Expression 2 is plenty fast enough to control a quadrotor like that. You could probably control a small swarm of them from one E2 if you really wanted, but it's not advisable as it'd just be messy and horrible. One E2 per quadrotor to control flight, and then if you wanted to you could make another E2 to control the swarming behaviour / flying in formation.
I'm really liking these pipes. They are easy to work with. Here is a random tube chassis I'm building with them. [thumb]http://revo-d.net/hosted/Cotton/gm_buttes0001.jpg[/thumb]
Did I miss a download link, or are you just on a server that has them for testing purposes?
Didn't release them, wouldn't advise putting the pack on a server just yet either. Message me if you want an svn link to test them out though. Also, trying to convince garry that bigger maps are a great idea. Go here to make your concerns known!
I really don't understand how bigger maps would help the sandbox community? How is the map size holding them back? What can't they do in the maps we have now?
http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1200564&page=2

I'd like a go at that SVN, if I may be able to put it on my server.
