Well, because I love you all(and because I want people to actually use my work), I will do it. May take a while though.
I will post a thing later with different scales so you guys can tell me which one you think is best.
Anyway, something I put together this morning. Its built 1/4th scale so it can fly more than 2 seconds without hitting a wall.
All control surfaces can rotate, as well as thrust vectoring.

Yep, I'm having that crash currently too. Sucks
Same thing happened a few updates ago but it got fixed a day later.

We get a lot of dumb kids on the server and most of the admins take a dim view on them, but we tend to be lenient because otherwise we'd have kicked some people who found out that what you saw is not how to play on build servers, and who are now good community members.
That being said we're always happy to have experts on the server and we definitely prefer seeing you guys than the airboat kids (:v:) I'm sorry that happened to you, that's definitely a bad experience.

This is great code, I had no idea you could create 3d trackers outside the map. It works even better when you parent the tracker to the barrel like this;

I hear people talking about aim stabilization, which I'm guessing is a way of preserving accuracy while moving on rough ground. It'd be nice if we didn't have to deal with that - if someone can list techniques for nullifying horizon lock and all the other problems we have with normal seats, I can volunteer my time in Lua. Maybe a special tank seat entity, would that be useful? :)
So this is very much so a work in progress, but i'm trying to build a real scale miata with Sprops. Something small, light, and fun to drive to toy around with ACF a bit.

I've been piecing a deathmatch game mode together for my brothers and cousins. They say I should release it to the world, but I'm not so sure about that.
Basically, you spawn with a random set of weapons, and try to kill the other guy. There are over 5000 weapon combination you could start with: 42 primary weapons, 15 sidearms, 4 explosives and two melee weapons. It'll be three melees as soon as I can make a decent working axe, and my brothers are asking for a chainsaw as well.
I'm hesitant to put it out in the wild though. I'm sure there are plenty of deathmatch-style game modes out there, and all the weapons I made take up over a gig, and I don't think too many people would download all that stuff for one game mode. On top of that, I'd have a hard time giving credit to the right people. Most of the weapon models are from gamebanana, and the swep scripts are all pieced together from things other people have put up to download.
They asked me to see if anybody else would be interested. Anybody give a shit?

Really it's horizon lock and the rotation of the tank. There are two cures for this, both of which are used commonly--ballsocket the seat and adv ballsocket it to the world so it's always upright (a generic solution about 75% of people use), or cam controller (what 25% of people use). Ballsocket seat means yuo need a wider tank because if yuo turn sideways your pod may stick out weird and get shotted. Cam controller gives you an aiming lag, as it's server-side, but offers greater flexibility in use, such as a longer-range zoom than the suit and is better if you play tetris with your tank internals.

uh, I think you may just be in the wrong thread. Was the gamemodes section removed? If not, try go there. Think there used to be a thread for something like that.

If I can catch Wenli online, I'll ask him to release Eyecam when he updates PA for GMod 13. It's a client-side camera with wire I/O, no lag at all, and fixes all the "horizon lock" issues.
Also, I have the plates all re-textured, should have the tris/cubes done today too. I am however hesitant to re-size the 6x6 material grid, because then it wont line up on the 6x, 18x, 30x, 42x props, a problem phx doesn't have because it doesn't have these sizes.
