Y u no use Sprops?
Sprops was not even released when i started the car, also i get confused by their size cause of the grids.
5.7 V8 One of rules of Rally which I'm making on my server in a few days. "Creator" of the ACF and can't see a difference between the V8 and the V12! Great Dutch! Annihilator. Weight: 200 tons. Behind is the marauder. Some interesting design features include dual engines, meaning the fact that it has four tracks means you have to destroy all four to stop it moving. And then it has a total of 16 wheels and a gigantic form factor that makes it susceptible to artillery. As it is 200 tons it has buckets full of health and insane armor to match It is armed with two 40mm ACs and a main 203mm howitzer using a quaternion turret I have Sestze to thank for showing me how to build it and teach me how it works. In short it's a fucking monster of a vehicle. To test how resilient it was I built a turret with three 203mm howitzers and fired at it until the ammunition from three 4x4x8 crates was depleted. One track was entirely blown off and the rest were missing wheels but it was still moving and very much intact.
I would aim at pod :|
Sprops was not even released when i started the car, also i get confused by their size cause of the grids.
The grids were made specifically with source units in mind, it's not half random like phx. each square is 6x6 units. Try using physgun buildmode next time you decide to toy with sprops, it's pretty nifty.
I would aim at pod :|
There is a vol_light cube around that pod with insane armor. You wouldn't be able to kill the driver before you get bored of shooting it / the turret turns round and pops you. Edit: Are you disagreeing that it's not protected? I did build the thing!
Sprops was not even released when i started the car, also i get confused by their size cause of the grids.
Don't understand how people are getting "confused" by it, if you need to know exactly how long a prop is, look at the model path. Its something you will need to get used to if you want to use my model pack, because it isn't changing. Never mind the line down the middle of the bottom row, but you can see now why I can't use the 12x12 grid material. PHX doesn't suffer from the grid issues because it simply does not have the props in those dimensions, PHX is all multiples of 12. Sorry for the delay on the uvw fix, all I have left is the cylinders and fittings, but they are giving me some grief.
The problem with phx is that it isn't 12 units. it's 11.something, and that causes isues with the grid size of smartsnap, while with sprops you can have perfect round number and the grid fits all.

So I posted this WIP on page 37 and after letting it sit for a bit I came back to it and finished it, I ditched the interior and thinned it out, reduced prop count by 1/4 and gave it a geared applyTorque motor. The Burlesque Sedan: Features and stuff(not impressive at all...): -applyTorque engine with simulated redline and power curve -3 speed automatic transmission -22 track music player -handrbake -long wheelbase -sofa rear seat -independent suspension -AWD(most of power goes to front end) -terrible ride -top speed of 72 MPH and 0-60 in 6 or so seconds More importantly, I discovered a possible bug while driving this. From testing and being shot at while doing burnouts, I found that spherical wheels under applyTorque forces and spinning at 500-1000 wheel RPM that are shot with any weapon(like an AR2 or SMG) cause the whole car to sink into the world and crash a server or gmod itself(only in SP). Anyone know why this occurs or even know this exists, the car wont sink on its own, it has to be shot while the wheels are under high RPM stresses otherwise its 100% stable and will not crash the game even when shot while stationary or moving, only has happened while racing, doing doughnuts, and burning out.
I love when this time of the year comes around and content just falls off due to everyone prepping for classes. Sorry to everyone who thought that the new post was content. I probably upset a few.

I guess this is about done. Just lazy to do the interiors and tweak the suspension. Drives fine though, lapped the carconstruct track at 1:08:8. You forgot to add thruster can on top of it.
I love it when people tell me I'm a pussy for using the 4 cyls on my cars...
I love it when people tell me I'm a pussy for using the 4 cyls on my cars...
that. People who put ridiculously massive engines in a normal car should be pulled out and shot. Especially the kind that go "well this makes it faster than yours!!". mygod some people.

LONG POST As ACF developers hang here I have couple of bugs to report: 1. Disappearing shots: test: 10 plates each 5mm, angle 45°, 140mm gun (same with lower caliber guns), AP ammo Shot disappear after penetrating a couple of plates, max penetrating 6 plates. In later test only two were bounces (top plate) Same with APHE ammo(Creates in the back would be detonated if round exploded) HEAT works fine(I died) Also vertical plates 5mm work fine (I died) It has to do something with the angle. 2. Bad efficiency of armor props (this one should be known) Sides of armored pod. Perfect fit, 40mm armor,3 props, total weight 923 Kg 2 props, shitty fit, red overlaps, green wasted, same 40mm armor, weight 709 Kg Looks like ACF takes not the prop, but the bounding box of it, as same size square and triangle weight same while having same armor value. Sorry for bad English and long post.

Will come in multiple versions, as I'm thinking about releasing it when I'm finished. [editline]22nd August 2012[/editline] It's also painfully small, but you can't tell in the shots above. the wheelbase is around 100 inches, and the tires are size 30 narrows. I'm having difficulty fitting two seats reasonably.
need more pinto rear end
What movie is that?
Sorry I didn't see your comment, I have no idea. Just something I found linked to on a bodybuilding forum post that seemed like an accurate representation of my reaction. Just for kicks, apparently now he's started people on my friendslist too, and spewing on about how ACF engines are horrible and unrealistic.
It's from the movie Face/Off.
LONG POST As ACF developers hang here I have couple of bugs to report: 1. Disappearing shots: test: 10 plates each 5mm, angle 45°, 140mm gun (same with lower caliber guns), AP ammo It has to do something with the angle.
Steeper angles affect penetration ability of rounds, and rounds lose penetrative ability as they pass through props. A shot that penetrates 90mm of armor against 3 plates that have 35mm of armor will stop at the third plate. Composite armoring works for that reason. I looked at the code, I didn't see any reason why it would stop functioning after the magical number of 6, I believe it just ran out of penetrative power at that point.
2. Sorry for bad English and long post.
That is correct, because there's no way to get mesh volume on the prop itself unless we were to hardcode a specific table full of values of "odd shaped props", which seems like a waste of time. Typically we use the visual clipping tool to cut off the ill fitting props to give that nice snug look.
I had to explain to somebody a few weeks ago the same thing. Even if the round stops rendering, you usually get a projectile impact marker. As a proof-of-fuck-you-I'm-right-and-you're-wrong a few weeks ago I shot both an EFP and AP through 100 stacked plates with a distance of around 2000u.
I want to watch that move now. And I might as well put content up, but that will have to wait till I get home from work.
